Social media can be a cruel mistress. The same sites that create kings (or presidents, as the case may be) can tear them down in an instant (or at least let people make fun of them when they say something dumb). As you may have heard, former Celebrity Apprentice host Donald Trump enjoys posting the occasional tweet, and these days he focuses primarily on defending his controversial Muslim ban . (And occasionally slamming Nordstrom for no longer partnering with his daughter, because beefing with a retail chain is totes presidential.) We can only assume President Bannon left Donnie unattended for a few minutes today, because he sent out a bizarre tweet incorporating the phrase “EASY D!” As you can imagine, Twitter had a field day. Take a look: 1. EASY D! The President of the United States tweeted this today. He was promptly and justly roasted for it. 2. Easy D, Defined One of the many possible definitions of the phrase “Easy D.” 3. In Search of Easy D Tomi might be the only person on the Internet more thin-skinned than the Donald. Ice Cube And Dr. Dre Cleared Of Responsibility In Hit And Run Death Remember when Suge Knight ran over one of his former friends — killing him in the process — as security tried to block him from entering the set of Straight Outta Compton back in early 2015? While Suge awaits trial for the murder, the family is suing everyone they thing is involved in the man’s tragic death…including Dr. Dre and Ice Cube. However, a judge has ruled that the blame lies solely with Suge . All claims against the rapper/moguls have been dropped. Via TMZ : Good news for Ice Cube and Dr. Dre — they’ve been dismissed from the wrongful death lawsuit that had been filed against them and Suge Knight for the death of Terry Carter. A court ruled Cube and Dre aren’t responsible for Carter’s death because it’s unfathomable to blame them for Knight’s reckless and allegedly criminal act — running over and killing Carter. TMZ broke the story … Cube and Dre were named defendants, along with Suge, when Carter’s family filed the suit … claiming Cube and Dre hired known gang members as security to keep Knight away from “Straight Outta Compton” shoot locations. Suge ran over Carter shortly after security gave him the boot, and the family felt that’s what sent him into him into a rage. The lawsuit remains against Suge, who also has a murder trial pending for the fatal hit-and-run. Well, good. Creators Of “The Underground” Talk About The Role Of Music On The Show We’re excited to see the creators of “Underground” promoting the show and sharing some details about the role music plays in the highly-anticipated Underground Railroad escape series. The network unveiled the series’ key art and a featurette – “The Music of ‘Underground’” – that goes behind-the-scenes with executive producer and music titan John Legend and composers Laura Karpman, a multi-Emmy Award winner, and Raphael Saadiq. Oscars Only Nominate White Actors And Directors For the second year in a row, there hasn’t been a single Black person nominated for an Oscar . Just let that sink in. Twenty nominations this year and not a single person is Black. This is damn near impossible unless you’re trying your hardest to lock Black people out. This means that Michael B. Jordan didn’t get nominated for Creed . Idris Elba didn’t get nominated for Beasts Of No Nation . No Samuel Jackson. No Ryan Coogler. No…sigh…the list is just too long. We’re getting fed up with these award shows. To add insult to injury, Sylvester Stallone got nominated for Creed and the all-White writing staff for Straight Outta Compton got nominated. It’s time to stop giving these insulting awards shows any of our attention. They don’t care about us and we shouldn’t care about them. This is the final straw. Eff the damn Oscars and anyone who loves them.
