Awards! So many awards. What will we do with all these awards? Awards everywhere! Awards in your refrigerator, awards in your morning coffee. Awards clogging the 405 and the Holland Tunnel. Sarah Palin shot and killed an award last night on TV. The Metrodome roof didn’t collapse under the weight of snow, as you’ve heard; it was actually from a storm that dumped 17 inches of awards on Minneapolis. And now look: More awards!

The Los Angeles Film Critics Awards & The American Film Institute Like The Social Network

Director David Fincher’s take on the creation of Facebook had a banner day today, as The Social Network was named the Best Film of the year by the L.A Film Critics Association and one of the top ten movies of the year by the AFI. Fincher also tied for Best Director, and writer Aaron Sorkin won for Best Screenplay, courtesy of the L.A. Critics. The full list of winners for both groups after the break.

“I’m nervous, I’m excited.” Those were the words of actor — and Movieline favorite — Justin Long as he co-hosted the boozy, unhinged and Norma Desmond-inspired fourth hour of Today earlier this morning. And why shouldn’t he have been nervous? After all, he was placed opposite the boozy, unhinged and Norma Desmond-inspired Kathie Lee Gifford and forced to talk about nudity, bad movies and “drunken Hoda in a thong.”

‘Digital Deaths’ of Kim Kardashian and Others Greatly Exaggerated; AIDS Charity Not Raising Money

File this under: When good intentions go bad. Celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Ryan Seacrest pledged to stay off all social networking sites this week to support Worlds AIDS day, and claimed they wouldn’t return until $1 million had been raised for the AIDS charity Keep a Child Alive. Which is a great idea, until you realize that no one actually wants to hear from Kim Kardashian and Ryan Seacrest.

National Board of Review Honors The Social Network, Jacki Weaver Among Best of 2010

It looks like at least on random collection of awards voters has been paying attention to Movieline’s Oscar Index . The National Board of Review kicked off awards season in style this afternoon by selecting Animal Kingdom star Jacki Weaver as Best Supporting Actress of the year. Huzzah ! Elsewhere, The Social Network cleaned house with awards for Best Film, Director, Actor (Jesse Eisenberg) and Adapted Screenplay. Click ahead for the full list of winners — and note that 127 Hours , Black Swan and The Kids Are All Right were all snubbed. Did the Board not get those screeners?
