Epitome Of A Bad Father: Chinese Man Sewed His Daughter’s Lips Together, Dunked Her Head In Boiling Water And Made Her Kneel On Glass!

People ain’t isht! Via NYDailyNews reports : A young girl had her mouth stitched up with fishing cord as part of a sickening campaign of abuse carried out by her own dad, police said. Xiao Li’s father, named only as Yang, allegedly dunked his 11-year-old daughter’s head in boiling water, pierced her skin with sewing needles and hung her upside down to beat her. He also forced her to kneel on a floor covered in shards of broken glass. The girl was found May 8, wandering alone and completely disoriented, on the streets of Shichang in China’s southwestern Guizhou Province. Covered in scars, and with much of her hair missing, she was taken to hospital where authorities said the cost of her medical treatment would be waived, Sky News reports . Yang was arrested and has reportedly confessed to his crimes. He said he plunged his girl’s head into the boiling water to try and get rid of lice, reports China Daily . The girl’s grandmother told reporters that Xiao Li’s parents left home for five years after she was born to find work. She claims Yang also abused her and that she was powerless to stop it. Government officials are now seeking guardians to take care of Xiao Li because her grandparents are too old. WTF is wrong with people? This is just heartbreaking. We hope she gets some loving guardians. Sky News

Prison Inmates Rescue Three Boys From Drowning

Three prison inmates were assigned to clean up a park near the Yacolt, Wash., minimum security correctional facility where they’re incarcerated last week. They ended up saving three young lives. During their work-release community service, Nelson Pettis, 37, Larry Bohn, 29, and Jon Fowler, 29, heard children’s screams coming from a nearby creek. Rushing to the water’s edge, the prisoners saw three young boys struggling to keep their heads above water. The children’s small canoe had capsized. The boys struggled to stay above water in the cold, 25-mph current rushing towards the Washington River, and the inmates knew they were in trouble. “It was raging pretty fast,” Pettis told KPTV news. “They were really scared.” He and Bohn didn’t think twice, leaping into the water to grab the boys, later identified as brothers ages 8, 10 and 16, and carrying them to a small island. There, they awaited emergency rescue. “They kept telling us, ‘Thank you, thank you,'” Bohn told reporters, adding that the three kids were “really scared” but very grateful and will be alright. “I think we did something that any good person would do. You see three helpless kids in a river, you help. That’s what you do,” said Fowler. “Just cause we’re incarcerated, doesn’t mean we’re bad people. We made some bad choices in our lives, but we’re still, we’re just like everybody else.” “We’re just paying our debt for what we did wrong.”

NYPD Officer Buys Homeless Man Boots, Photo Goes Viral

Larry DePrimo of the NYPD has become an Internet star, and deservedly so, after he was photographed by a tourist buying boots for a barefoot homeless man. One frigid night this month, he walked by the man and was inspired by buy him socks and boots; the image was captured by a visitor to the Big Apple from Arizona. “I had two pairs of wool socks and combat boots, and I was cold,” DePrimo, 25, said this week recalling the night of November 14, when he met the man. Encountering an unidentified, shoeless man on the sidewalk on 7th Avenue near 44th Street, the young officer inquired about the state of his feet. “I never had a pair of shoes,” the man replied, according to DePrimo, who’s assigned to the Sixth Precinct and has been on the force nearly three years. The officer walked to a Skechers store over on 42nd Street and shelled out $75 for a pair of brand new, insulated winter boots and thermal socks. DePrimo returned to the man a few blocks away, knelt down and put them on for him. “He smiled from ear to ear,” DePrimo said. “It was like you gave him a million dollars.” The officer also asked the man if he wanted a cup of coffee, but he graciously declined and went on his way. “I didn’t think anything of it,” DePrimo said of his act. The public clearly felt otherwise. The photo began circulating on Facebook, at which point the NYPD found and re-posted it. Tens of thousands of Likes and shares followed in the ensuing days.

Paige Thomas and Vino Alan React to X Factor Eliminations

The X Factor results show was not especially kind to Paige Thomas and Vino Alan last night, as the hopeful singers were each sent home. Did the eliminations take these contestants by surprise? “I wouldn’t say I was expecting it,” Thomas told reporters after the show. “But at this point in the competition, because everybody’s so good, you can never really expect anything… I’m somewhat relaxed because now I can really just be myself.” Alan was more direct (“I didn’t expect to go home,” he said), while admitting he changed his Wednesday night song at the last moment from “Too Close” to ” You’ve Lost that Loving Feeling .” But he holds no grade toward mentor L.A. Reid. “I don’t blame L.A.,” he said. “I blame myself for not standing up. That’s the advice I’d give to anybody: follow your gut.” Thomas also harbors no ill will toward Demi Lovato , saying she’s grateful for that star’s support. “We spent a lot of time with [Demi], especially compared to all the other judges,” Thomas said. “She really did take time to sit down with us and talk to us. She’s got a career that she’s still building and so do I, but I’d definitely like to stay in touch with her.” Did you think Thomas and/or Alan deserved to be eliminated?   No way, Paige deserved to stay! Nope, Vino all the way! Yes, but I wish them luck! View Poll »

Katie Medley, Aurora Shooting Victim, Gives Birth

Finally some good news out of the tragedy in Aurora, Colorado: Katie Medley, a movie goer who escaped unharmed from the horrific James Holmes last Friday, gave birth to a boy at the University of Colorado Hospital yesterday morning. He’s named Hugo and both child and mother are reportedly doing well. Tragically, however, Katie’s husband Caleb was not as fortunate as his wife: also in attendance at The Dark Knight Rises showing, Caleb was shot in the head and remains in a medically-induced coma. “He had some motion in his hands today,” Seth Medley, Caleb’s brother, told reporters at University Hospital Tuesday night. “His injuries are pretty serious. I don’t want to get into any details, but there’s some serious injuries around his face.” Seth referred the birth of his nephew as “a silver lining to a very dark cloud.” Due to Caleb’s presumed recovery time, and the medical bills that are certain to add up, the family has set up a WePay account at calebmedley.com/help . We encourage all readers to donate whatever they can.
