New Romantics Trailer Remembers to Showcase Katies Holmes

Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark might have been scared of featuring Katie Holmes in its marketing materials, but The Romantics certainly isn’t — Mrs. Tom Cruise appears in almost every shot of the newly released trailer. Though since the film looks like a warmed-over version of Rachel Getting Married recast with television actors, perhaps Holmes should be the one worrying.

True Blood’s Theo Alexander On His Gay Vampire Sex Scene with Alexander Skarsgard

How do you recover from a graphic vampire-on-vampire sex scene that ended with one nasty staking and screams that literally curdled blood? If you’re actor Theo Alexander, you fly to Greece to unwind — and edit the aforementioned sequence out of the bootlegged episode of True Blood you plan on screening for your mother. This morning, the Greek actor took a break from his two-week vacation to phone Movieline and discuss the sensual way he prepared for True sex, his fear of getting in touch with his “gay” side, and his character’s 700-year romance with the King of Mississippi.

Entourage to End Next Summer

At Saturday’s TCA panel for HBO, programming president Michael Lombardo announced that Entourage will end next summer with a shortened, six-episode order. But don’t expect all those answers you’ve been waiting patiently for over the past seven seasons. Said Lombardo: “[Creator Doug Ellin] is appropriately reserving — he wants to write a film, but wants to do it when the story will make sense.” Just don’t have Vince and the boys head to Abu Dhabi and things should be fine. REVIEW: Patricia Clarkson Leads Lustrous Cairo Time

Cairo Time is the kind of slender, willowy picture that could easily be dismissed as inconsequential, maybe even laughable: A fiftyish magazine writer, Juliette (Patricia Clarkson), travels to Cairo to meet her husband, who works for the United Nations and is stationed in the area. He’s called away on urgent business and thus sends his former bodyguard, Tareq (Alexander Siddig), to meet her. The inevitable happens: Juliette’s husband is delayed for days, and Tareq assumes a greater role in her adventure, first as a guide and protector and then as a friend. Nothing — and everything — happens between them.

Start the Saw 8 Rumor Mill

The Saw franchise’s producers confirmed at Comic-Con that Tyler Perry’s Saw VII : The Traps Come Alive 3D would indeed be the series’ last installment. Enter Saw mainstay Betsy Russell, who this week cheerfully overrode that statement. “Before we thought it was ending [with Saw 7 ], the writers came up with an unbelievable idea [for Saw 8 ],” Russell said. “It’s an amazing story that I would love to see. We want to end near the top, with our integrity intact and not letting the characters die a slow death, so to speak. But I believe in my heart that someday, somehow, [ Saw 8 ] will happen.” Fine — anything for more Tobin Bell interviews . [ NYP ]
