White TV Just Got Whiter: The Next ‘Bachelor’ Spin-Off Has Contestants Competing In “Winter Games” While Looking For Love

Getty Images The Bachelor Winter Games Is Coming Soon To A TV Near You The show first started off as just a series titled, The Bachelor –but soon the franchise branched out into The Bachelorette , Bachelor in Paradise , and now a new addition to the family titled, The Bachelor Winter Games . It seemed like the ABC hit couldn’t occupy any more time on TV, with one season of a series ended a week or two after the last (a cycle that’s gone on for the past couple of years), but now they’re found a way to overlap seasons of the same show. Meet the cast of #TheBachelorWinterGames , coming to ABC Tuesday, Feb 13. Plus, more cast announcements to come!   https://t.co/eB8xS4gU4C pic.twitter.com/WMkiXIJpyi — The Bachelor (@BachelorABC) January 8, 2018 The show’s newest addition will be a four-part series that consists of olympic-style winter games while the contestants simultaneously try to find love. The entire franchise is supposedly about finding love, so that’s no surprise, but how that process relates to contestants playing winter games is unknown. The event isn’t just for those from the US series either, this new show will feature contestants from the US, UK, Switzerland, Japan, Australia, China, Canada, Sweden and Finland. With this idea, they’ve managed to make a show filled with 90% white contestants that much whiter. It’s safe to say that 22 seasons in, this franchise is truly milking their viewership for all its worth.

The Side-Eye: ‘Don’t Sleep’ With TJ Holmes Gets Cut Back After Viewers Are A No Show!

Did you see this coming?? Folks are asking BET why the show airs so late in defense of poor viewer turnout and, according to The Grio , the network isn’t putting any of the blame on their shoulders: When T.J. Holmes left CNN to host his own show on BET, Don’t Sleep, some called it a risky move, while the network’s viewers seemed to be excited. Holmes saw it as an opportunity to “reach out and report on stories that directly affect the African-American community.” Unfortunately, the viewership has not lived up to hype. Holmes’ show combines comedy, news and commentary not unlike The Colbert Report and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Don’t Sleep airs in the 11 pm time-slot and drew 400,000 viewers on to its October 1 premiere. The October 9th episode drew 1 million viewers, but since then, it has slipped to as low as 203,000. “To be honest, the ratings haven’t been great in the past two weeks. Our audience always says they want this kind of programming, but they don’t show up,” said Debra Lee, BET’s CEO. theGrio’s 100: T.J. Holmes, News anchor leaves CNN for BET As a result, Don’t Sleep will now be on for one hour once a week, instead of every night. BET released a statement saying, “The viewers have spoken and due to the overwhelming demand, Don’t Sleep will now be expanded to a one hour weekly format allowing for a more comprehensive discussion of the issues and events affecting the African-American community,” “We will now have an hour-long format to educate, empower, and engage. This will allow us more time to delve deeper into topics and determine how we can all, in our own way, be agents of change,” Holmes wrote on his website. “As part of being extended to an hour, the show will move to Wednesday nights at 11 p.m. This will allow us to do on-location reporting from cities and communities across the country.” Here’s a thought BET. How about you address the rest of your programming as a whole and leave real shows like ‘Don’t Sleep’ alone for now. Images via twitter

Jersey Shore Premiere Posts Record Ratings

The Jersey Shore Season 3 premiere was watched by 8.4 million people. In addition to being MTV’s most-watched event of all time, that’s up there with, if not surpassing, the viewership of many big-name network shows. Some critics say the premise of the show (yelling, drinking, hooking up) is becoming stale by season three, but the huge ratings suggest otherwise. The arrival of Deena Nicole Cortese and epic throwdowns like this one taking place as the credits rolled are sure to bring peeps back next week too: Jersey Shore Season 3 Premiere Fight

Summer Glau’s Awesome Booty Profile

I have never seen one episode of the show Chuck , I don’t think very many people have, but I found this screen cap of Summer Glau climbing a ladder in a short skirt and i thought I had to share it with you. This is by no means going to make me start watching the show, but it’s a pretty good way to get may attention. Filling their promos with tits and ass will definitely up their viewership is you ask me. Just a suggestion. Enjoy.

Jon Stewart: Watching Fox News Funds ‘Terror Mosque’

During a recent Fox and Friends segment surrounding the Islamic cultural center/mosque that is proposed for Lower Manhattan, guest analyst Dan Senor pointed out that Imam Rauf had previously received funds from a Saudi organization that is alleged to also “fund radical madrassas all over the world” and is headed up Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal. Jon Stewart used that clip to then reveal that bin Talal just so happens to also be a large partner News Corp. business partner, or in his words, “The terror funder is Rupert Murdoch’s News Corps’ funder!” When future trumped up media controversies (like the Park 51 story) reveal themselves, the nation should first looks to Jon Stewart for reason, context and common sense. For no one can more clearly point out the many inherent absurdities in alleged fake controversy surrounding the “Terror Mosque” as Stewart chose to call it. The crux of Stewart’s clip is best summed up by the following rough transcript of the central thesis: That’s right – the guy they are paying as a sinister money force, owns part of Fox News. Let’s do as Fox News commands and follow the money:This is the proposed ‘terror mosque.’ We know that it’s a ‘terror mosque’ because the money may be coming from a bad guy, who definitely owns part of Fox News. Now we know he is a bad guy because we just heard it on Fox News. And by hearing it on Fox News watching Fox News, I’m increasing their viewership and their advertising rates go up. Now, part of that money goes to the bad guy we learned about on Fox, because he’s their part owner, Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal, allowing him then to make it rain, so to speak, on the terror mosque. My point is this: if we want to cut of funding to the terror mosque we must, together as a nation, stop watching Fox. It’s the only way. Using their reasoning, its the only way to cut off the revenue stream to these bad dudes. Stewart then points out that the most curious part of this entire report was that Fox and Friends never revealed who the evil money source was to the viewers of the show. He then had on correspondents Wyatt Cenac (representing Team Evil) and John Oliver (representing Team Stupid) to debate whether or not, well, the producers at Fox and Friends were being stupid or evil.
