Kris Humphries on Jeremy Lin: Nice Guy!

Kris Humphries heard it once again at Madison Square Garden last night: BOOOOO! But this time the Nets power forward left The World’s Most Famous Arena with a reason to smile, despite the reception he received by opposing fans, as New Jersey defeated New York 100-92. Humphries played a key role in the victory, too, with 14 points and 14 rebounds. “I love the hostile environment,” Humphries told ESPN after the game. “There’s nothing better than sending 19,000 people home upset… We love that.” Kris is also the latest in a very long lien to give props to Jeremy Lin, the NBA’s latest sensation, but not for anything the Harvard graduate did on the court last night. Instead, Lin apparently gave Kris a big assist in the tunnel leading to the locker rooms. “He just said, ‘Hey, I don’t know why they boo you, but I think it’s crap, and you’re playing really well,'” Humphries said of Lin. “That was nice of him to say. He’s a really nice guy… It’s nice to see great things happen for nice people.” Lin also has great taste in women: he recently said Kim Kardashian was not his type .

Boehner: Government–i.e. Taxpayers–Should Help Pay For Oil Spill

Congressional Democrats and the White House are toying with different ways to force BP to cover the costs of damages from the Gulf oil spill. But they face stiff opposition from industry…and it seems leading Republicans. In response to a question from TPMDC, House Minority Leader John Boehner backed Tom Donohue, President of the Chamber of Commerce, in saying taxpayers should help pick up the tab. “I think the people responsible in the oil spill–BP and the federal government–should take full responsibility for what's happening there,” Boehner said at his weekly press conference this morning. On Friday, Donohue made clear that he opposes efforts to stick BP, a member of the Chamber, with the bill. “It is generally not the practice of this country to change the laws after the game,” he said. “Everybody is going to contribute to this clean up. We are all going to have to do it. We are going to have to get the money from the government and from the companies and we will figure out a way to do that.” So I asked Boehner, “do you agree with Tom Donohue of the Chamber that the government and taxpayers should pitch in to clean up the oil spill?” The shorter answer is “yes”. The Chamber is extremely influential in Republican politics, so on that level it's not particularly surprising that Boehner has Donohue's back on this one. But the politics of asking the federal government (i.e. taxpayers) to help cover the multi-billion dollar cleanup and rescue efforts are deadly. Look for Democrats to jump all over this one. added by: TimALoftis

Review: WarioWare D.I.Y.

My favorite quirk about the WarioWare series is that it takes the average gamer longer to explain one of the series’ crazy microgames than it does to play it. The series, which has always tapped into our collective instincts built upon a lifetime of gaming, brings it all full circle with the latest DS installment, WarioWare D.I.Y. Andrew Pfister played quite a few of the game’s premade levels and sampled many of the user-created microgames for his review. Here’s a choice quote: “Just in the first week after the game’s release, it’s already evident that there are some highly creative people hard at work making games based on their favorite NES games, inside meme-related jokes, or like me, an entire suite of games based on the frustrations of air travel. Let’s hope Nintendo keeps supporting this initiative, highlighting the best of the best, and nurturing America’s aspiring amateur game developers.” I like WarioWare as is, so the information pretty much drives home my desire to pick it up. It’s Fat Tuesday!

Around the world Catholics are celebrating their last day before Lent which can only mean one thing: a giant party. Down in Brazil they call it Carnival, and Boston.com's Big Picture has an amazing photoset. New Orleans finally seems to have caught a break with their Super Bowl win and their new mayor, and they're certainly celebrating. From the Times-Picayune: For many New Orleanians, today’s festivities will mark the continuation of a party that began moments after the Saints 31-17 victory over the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLIV on Feb. 7. Indeed, just two days after the game, the team was celebrated in a parade that included floats from different krewes and which was broadcast live on national television. And on Sunday, Saints quarterback Drew Brees opened up this week’s festivities as the King of Bacchus. Anyone out there in New Orleans? Tell us about the party! added by: afitzgerald

Marisa Miller’s Ass in Celebrity Flag Football Game of the Day

Celebrities or “Hardly-Celebrities” always try to get into the action. If some big event is going down, they have to do some stunt to annoy the public with, thinking that we care, when really it makes them look like they are latching onto something bigger than them, for a little attention….so obviously when the superbowl came along – they had no choice but to do a flag superbowl for the stars, and by stars I mean Olivia Munn and Marisa Miller who are hardly stars to begin with, they shoulda thrown in that guy from the viagra commercial and one of the Extras on Golden Palace to make shit really legit and all I know is that if I was playing I’d be tackling Marisa Miller too, and after the game, I’d try to make Oliva Munn choke on my cock…but that’s just cuz she’s a whore….
