The Emmy-nominated writer just announced the launch of Raedio, her new imprint in partnership with Atlantic Records . The label officially launched on Friday with the release of TeaMarrr’s new single, “Kinda Love.” The visual that accompanies it–directed by Ari Lennox and Lucky Daye–features cameos from Rae along with comedian Jessie Woo. The label also is a platform to align acts with film and television projects, commercials, podcasts, and other endeavors. “Music has always been an essential part of every project I do and working with emerging talent is a personal passion,” Rae told the publication. “Raedio allows me to continue that work within the music industry and audio entertainment space. The Atlantic Records team are innovators in terms of shifting and shaping culture. I’m excited to join forces with them to discover new artists.” Raedio also provides music supervision services for HBO’s A Black Lady Sketch Show . The Raedio team is led by Issa Rae’s longtime business development executive and now President, Benoni Tagoe. Atlantic Chairman & COO Julie Greenwald said the following about their new partnership: “She’s made music a central character in her artistic evolution, and now she’s brought all that amazing passion, inspiration, and taste to the formation of Raedio. We’re thrilled to be partnering with Issa and her team on this exciting new venture, and TeaMarrr is the perfect artist to launch with.”

But all of the changes in his personal life may have helped Safaree Samuels neglect his finances. That’s because the IRS has just slapped the “Love & Hip Hop: New York” reality star with a tax lien to the tune of more than $35,000, alleging that the groom hasn’t paid his taxes in years. According to the federal tax lien, which was filed last month and obtained by BOSSIP, Safaree owes a total of $35,166 for his income from 2012, 2017 and 2018. Specifically, the IRS contends Safaree owes $9,572 for income from 2012 – when he was still with Nicki Minaj – along with $13,699 for 2017 and $11,893 for 2018, when his income apparently mushroomed from his “Love & Hip Hop: New York” checks, a slew of personal appearances and a sex toy line. The IRS doesn’t mess around when it comes to collecting from alleged tax dodgers and has seized assets and even jailed celebs like Lauryn Hill and Wesley Snipes over their tax debts. Safaree had not officially responded to the lien as of Oct. 9.

Henceforth, the balance beam queen shall be known as “Simone Biles, The Most Decorated Female Gymnast Of All Time”. It’s like A Tribe Called Quest , you say the whole thing. According to CNN , Biles captured the GOAT title after winning her 21st championship in Stuttgart, Germany on Tuesday. Of the 21 championship medals that the 22-year-old holds, 15 of them are gold which is also a record for World Championship medals. Lord Snowdon Dies; Royal Rogue Was 86

The name Anthony Armstrong-Jones may no longer be widely recognized on this side of the pond, but there was a time when the Earl of Snowdon was a tabloid fixture with as firm a grip on the public’s imagination as the most scandalous stars of today. The husband of Queen Elizabeth II’s sister, Princess Margaret, Snowdon lived out loud in a fashion that scandalized the royals and helped define the hedonistic zeitgeist of the Swinging Sixties. A photographer, filmmaker and unabashed bohemian, Snowdon captivated Britons when he married Margaret in 1960, and his status as a relatable commoner amongst royals has earned him comparisons to Princess Diana. At first, Snowdon’s freewheeling lifestyle made him a perfect fit for the rebellious Margaret, and the British press fell in love with the young couple that was so unlike the more sedate Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.  Eventually, however, Snowdon’s appetite for promiscuous sex (with women and men alike), hard-partying, and hob-nobbing with his era’s biggest celebrities put a strain on his marriage, and he and Margaret divorced in 1978. In the years that followed, Snowdon was lauded for his discretion, turning down lucrative offers to pen a tell-all about his time as a royal in-law. Eventually, however, the more lurid details of his wild life and times came to light: Snowdon lived a life of extremes, at once both highly ambitious and accomplished (In addition to his artistic achievements, he received a patent for an electric wheelchair that he invented in 1971.), and given over to debauched behavior that’s shocking by today’s standards, let alone the stuffy mores of England in the early ’60s. One of the more recent gossip items about his personal life came to light in 2008, when Snowdon admitted to fathering a daughter out of wedlock just months before marrying Princess Margaret. The child – conceived during an alcohol and amyl-nitrate-fueled threesome – was born while Armstrong-Jones was on his honeymoon with Princess Margaret. It was only when she was in her late forties that the woman learned Snowdon was her father via a DNA test. Just months after his marriage to Margaret ended, Snowdon married Lucy Lindsay Hogg, who gave birth to his daughter, Frances, in 1979. Margaret never remarried, and died of a stroke in 2002. Though he’ll likely be best remembered for his involvement with the royals and his decadent lifestyle, those who followed Snowdon’s career say that he had a tremendous impact on the arts scene in London throughout his multi-decade career. The many famous subjects who sat for photo sessions with Snowdon say his charisma, warmth, and sense of humor made for a relaxed environment that resulted in uniquely intimate images.
