He accepted Kevin Hart ‘s challenge for celebrities to donate and now Johnson is on board to shell out $25k to The Red Cross. Despite Johnson’s generosity, he did seem to make a point to not call out celebrities by name. Unlike Hart, who’s already donated $50k to relief efforts, and asked Steve Harvey , Chris Rock , Dave Chappelle , Beyoncé , Jay-Z , and Justin Timberlake to donate. Johnson says he already knows what it’s like to experience a hurricane, having survived Hurricane Andrew back in 1992, and he trusts celebrities will have the awareness to donate. “You guys already know what to do in terms of donating money,” he said and stressed he would not call out his “celebrity friends.” Was that a dig to Kevin? Nonetheless, The Rock did encourage his fans and followers to dish out some of their cash to the hurricane relief. Looks like the former wrestler isn’t about putting people on the spot, especially when he know they have major coins. Brandi Boyd of Love & Hip Hop Hollywood recently walked in the ELIE MADI fashion show at LA’s fashion week, with her sister Amber who has Muscular Sclerosis, to raise awareness of this disabling disease. The ladies were wearing ELIE MADI and ROCKY GATHERCOLE FOR THE STARS FASHION HOUSE. Amber is the first model to have MS and walk in fashion week. With the fashion industry notorious for being very exclusive, they are working to raise awareness for auto immune diseases, like Muscular Sclerosis. “We were thrilled to have Brandi and her sister Amber walk in our recent LA Fashion Week show. Brandi exhibits the glow and effervescence of her Godmother Whitney Houston and we were equally excited to work with Amber and Brandi to raise awareness for muscular sclerosis, the disease which Amber suffers from, by having the first model with this debilitating disease,” said designer Elie Madi. “It meant so much to me and my sister for Elie and Jacob to give her the chance to realize a dream of walking in a fashion show which is something she thought she would never complete due to her having MS. We are forming a foundation to continue with our goal of finding a cure of this horrible disease so stay tuned for more info,” Brandi said about walking in the show. How awesome!

Judge Sets 2017 Trial Date For Sandra Bland’s Suspicious Death Justice for the suspicious death of Sandra Bland is officially underway. On Thursday, U.S. District Judge finally set the trial date for Bland’s death. Waller County attorney’s argued that Sandra committed suicide after just 3 days in her jail cell, after not being bailed out by her family’s inability to quickly post her bail. Sandra’s family wasn’t buying that story one bit, and instead pursued the injustice with the help of the media. According to Huffington Post , they are suing for unspecified damages from the Texas Department of Public safety, the state trooper who arrested Sandra, Waller County and two jailers. The trial date is set for January 23, 2017 – still a hefty wait for answers. As Sandra’s mother would agree, after the hearing she stated, “My daughter is gone. …I walked into these [courthouse] doors with continuations, dates and delays. I’m coming out of these doors with continuations, dates and delays.” Smh. Hopefully justice is finally served. Do you guys foresee an outcome? Sound off in the comments
