Frank Ocean’s Club Night PrEP+ Launching In New York City

Source: Theo Wargo / Getty R&B recluse, Frank Ocean wants to provide a safe space for folks to party. His new club night that aims to do so is launching in New York City, Thursday (Oct.17). The Fader reports the new club night called PrEP+ named after the HIV prevention drug of the same name will be presented by Blonded. The press release describes the night as a homage to New York’s 80s and 90s club scene, and what could have been if the drug existed during that era. The flyer for the inaugural night hints at the renowned queer nightclub, ‘THE WORLD’ possibly serving as the theme for the party. “PrEP+ is the first in a series of nights; an ongoing safe space made to bring people together and dance. PrEP+ will welcome globally celebrated DJs. PrEP+ welcomes everyone.” According to the press release “ticket links have been distributed.” There are also rules to follow if you’re attending No photos or videos are allowed in the venue. Consent is mandatory. No racism. No homophobia. No transphobia. No sexism. No ableism or discrimination in any form will be tolerated. Ocean said in a statement that his next album will draw influence from electronic music and nightlife so this club night is in line with that. You can check out the flyer for the event below. Earlier this year, New York City-based style and travel influencer Monroe Steele posted that she had teamed up with Kristin White , the Mayor of Black Bermuda (joking, but not really), to host a trip to Bermuda in the Fall. I decided to roll solo, but ended up meeting some other dope female solo travelers and Bermudian locals who fell nothing short of #BlackGirlMagic. Let’s start from the beginning.  Monroe has been to Bermuda a couple of times and describes it as one of her favorite places in the world. Kristin White is a Bermuda native and renaissance woman who loves to tell stories about people from her island, especially when it comes to Black entrepreneurs, especially women. Kristin is a writer, talk show host, owns a gift shop called Long Story Short , and she hosts history tours. She can count Yara Shahidi ’s family among her happy tour customers. However, Kristin decided to take the concept of her tours to a higher level.  Source: Kendall Trott / Kendall Trott After learning that the Bermuda Board of Tourism wanted to attract more African American visitors, which currently stands at 4% , Kristin decided to host a full trip to her island to provide a deeper look into what it has to offer. When most people think of Bermuda, they think of rich White travelers and business people who come to play. While all of the above is true, Kristin also wants travelers to explore the island’s rich African diasporic heritage, as well as its bustling population of Black creatives who are turning their passions into profit and achieving milestones in Black History. So, she slid into Monroe’s DM’s to see if she would be interested in tapping into her follower base to host a group of stylish women on the island and “Untold Stories” was born. Bermuda is a 90 minute flight from JFK. It’s chill, the beaches aren’t overcrowded, and it’s a great place to experience luxury that rivals that of a weekend in the Hamptons.  Myself plus two other young stylish Black women joined the fun as we explored Bermuda over a four day weekend. We stayed at the luxurious Hamilton Princess Bermuda and traipsed around the island visiting modern museums, tasting epic food, getting history lessons, and visiting chic Black owned boutiques. Pharrell Announces 2nd Annual Something In The Water Festival, Now A Week Long

Today (Oct. 14), the Neptunes producer, creative director and a whole bunch of other titles announced that the festival will be returning in 2020, and is damn near a week-long event. Ronnie Ortiz-Magro Takes Daughter to Disneyland, Manages Not to Get Arrested

Ronnie Ortiz-Magro has been mired in a mistable relationship for about a year and a half now. Which makes the following update on the Jersey Shore star’s situation all the more ironic: He just took his daughter to The Happiest Place on Earth. A day after an order of protection against the troubled MTV personality was lifted, Ronnie took little Ariana to Disneyland, an insider has confirmed to Us Weekly and other outlets. In fact, the 33-year old himself shared a video to his Instagram Story on yesterday that showed him kissing his 18-month-old child as they goofed around together, poking their tongues out on a ride. You know what they say, right? It’s all fun and games until someone holds a knife to someone’s girlfriend and then gets arrested for kidnapping someone’s daughter . This is what Ronnie stands accused of doing. Early on the morning of October 4, Ronnie got into an altercation with violent girlfriend Jen Harley. According to the official police report, Harley grabbed Ariana and ran out of the home the couple had been renting in Los Angeles. However, Harley alleges, Ronnie chased after her… threatened her with a knife… picked up Ariana and took her back inside the residence. The police were then forced to break down the front door after Ronnie refused to open it — and were then forced to taze the Jersey Shore cast member due to his out of control behavior. YIKES, right? In a statement following the alleged incident, the reality star’s attorney, Scott E. Leemon, said the following: “The reporting of the alleged incident relating to Ronnie Magro yesterday is based upon pure speculation and innuendo. “We are currently conducting our own investigation and will have no further comment until that has been concluded.” Still, authorities granted Harley an order of protection against Ronnie. He wasn’t allowed near Jen or Ariana until a hearing this past Friday, at which time the order expired and was not renewed. For his part, Ronnie claims Jen was the one who was wasted and that he feared she might harm their daughter. He says that he was simply acting like a protective father by stealing Ariana away from her mom on the night in question. Neither Harley nor Magro has directly commented on the confrontation. But both have now been arrested in conjunction with alleged violence against the other, with Jen having dragged Ronnie down the street by her car last summer and then hurled an ashtray at his head this past New Year’s Eve. They seem to bring out the worst in each othere. Incredibly, this most recent incident came just hours after the pair — who have had a very tumultuous relationship since they started dating in 2017 — attended the launch party for his Verge CBD line in West Hollywood. “Honestly, even though everyone thinks we’re toxic, she really does balance me out,” he said at the time… which, again, was hours prior to his arrest. Added Ronnie at this time: “She really does keep me level because with her I have her and the baby, which is a family, which is what I want at the end of the day.” Thankfully, the couple has since broken up. BOSSIP Be Trippin’ – Driving Through Southwest Oregon With Polaris

Polaris Hosts Test Drive In Southwest Oregon The southwest coast of Oregon is full of pine tree forests that stretch down to the ocean, sand dunes that go on as far as the eye can see and coastline that is so picturesque that it looks like it came out of a storybook. And it was the perfect backdrop for a three-day trip to test drive Polaris’ newest fleet of off-road and specialty vehicles. The vehicle maker invited a select group of media and tastemakers (like Snoop Dogg’s son Cordell Broadus and social media star Mapy) to test the new Slingshot – a three-wheeled convertible-style roadster, and the Rzr – a four-wheeled off-road vehicle – among the natural splendor. After checking into our hotel, the Inn At Fifth in Eugene, we spent the afternoon getting to know each other and getting outfitted with Polaris gear to get us ready to drive. Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty The next day, we drove to the coast, taking in the beautiful scenery along the way: rushing streams, the occasional farm, forests and open fields. We first arrived at the Spinreel Dune Buggy & ATV Rental in North Bend, where after a safety check, we piled into our Rzr’s and set out for the sand dunes. Cruising the dunes in the Rzr was a blast – especially riding the four-wheeler all the way up a dune and then careening down it. After a lunch of local Dungeness Crab at the Coos History Museum, we got into our Slingshots for the final drive of the day. The two-seater resembled a cross between the Batmobile and a motorcycle, and the convoy of our Slingshots driving through the streets and highways along the state’s coast turned heads wherever we went. Riding in the open air Slingshot with the music blasting was simply exhilarating. No wonder celebs like Chris Brown are fans. Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty We ended our trip by driving the Slingshots to the Heceta Head Lighthouse – a scenic spot that had its own beach – where put our feet in the water and snapped a group photo. This reporter had never experienced – or even considered – off-roading or specialty vehicles before, but after this trip, we realized that it can be an exciting soft adventure for the whole family and a thrilling way to see the country. Raiven Adams Flaunts Baby Bump at 11 Weeks!

It was only after breaking up that Bear Brown and Raiven Adams realized that they were  expecting a child together . Bear and Raiven got back together  after realizing that they still had feelings for each other. Now, Raiven is showing off her baby bump — and telling fans her plans for her baby’s reality career. Raiven and Bear’s relationship went public and immediately got a little rocky thanks to the “opinions” of so-called fans. But for now, they’re focused on the positive. Late on Tuesday night, Raiven took to Instagram to share a photo of her barely-there baby bump. Here is her bare tummy at 11 weeks pregnant. It may be a subtle bump, but you can see it. Awww! Raiven also opened up this week in an Instagram Q&A. A follower had asked if she planned on letting her little bun in the oven appearing on  Alaskan Bush People  like his father. “I would be very sad for my little to not be filmed,” Raiven’s response begins. She added: “[They will be] in the biggest parts of our life.” “So yes,” Raiven answered. Raiven also spoke about what makes her so sure that reality television would be a good place for her child to grow up. She writes: “and [the] film crew is so wonderful!” That is certainly heartwarming to hear. “I know they will treat our baby as their own,” Raiven predicts. This is so sweet! It’s wonderful that she’s having such a positive experience with all of Bear’s family and with their reality star lifestyle. Fans asked about more than just reality stardom, however. One followers asked Raiven if she is “excited to watch [her] little one grow up with Noah’s little one.” Noah Brown and his wife, Rhain Alisha, already welcomed their first child. Raiven indicated in the affirmative, writing: “Noah and Gabe’s.” That’s right —  Gabe Brown and Raquell Rose are expecting their first child , as we learned this summer. That will mean  three  cousins close in age, all growing up close to each other! If you didn’t catch Raiven’s not-so-subtle hints, it seems very clear that she’s appeared on  Alaskan Bush People . Talking about the camera crew with such familiarity sounds like the words of someone who has been filmed — a lot. It’s not really a surprise that the show is expanding to film Bear’s partner. One, there’s only so many times that they can film him running in the woods and howling. They need some fresh material for him. Two, Bear and Raiven are part of a new element of the show: grandbabies! As Raiven was sure to mention, Gabe and Raquell are expecting their first child. And Noah and Rhain have already welcomed their precious baby. As Rain Brown approaches adulthood (faster than anyone would believe), she’s already becoming an aunt – soon, an aunt of three. Thta also means three grandbabies for Billy and Ami. Of course fans are interested and invested in the latest additions to the Brown family. We look forward to seeing this side of the Brown family in season 11! We’re excited to see that — and to see Matt’s return . Lauren Conrad Welcomes Second Baby: What Is It?!?

The Hills are alive with the sounds of… … crying. Both of the happy and frustrated variety, we should specify, because Lauren Conrad just welcomed a brand new baby into the world! The former MTV personality confirmed this blessed piece of news herself on Wednesday evening being an adorable drawing of what we presume to be herself, her husband William Tell and their two kids. “Our sweet baby boy, Charlie Wolf Tell, has arrived!” Conrad wrote on Instagram as a caption to the cool image below. The couple is already parents to son Liam James Tell, 2. The Hills alumna initially shared news of her second pregnancy back in April, posting a sweet photo of her bump and writing along with it: “It’s been hard to keep this one to myself! Very excited to share that our family will be getting a little bigger this year.” Conrad, who has remained mostly out of the spotlight ever since the original The Hills went off the air (she plays no role in the much-maligned reboot) married Tell in a September 2014 sunset ceremony at a boutique winery. She mostly makes a living these days in the fashion industry. A decade before tying the knot and shifting her goals, however, an 18-year-old Conrad sky-rocketed to prominence after being cast on Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. This reality show chronicled her and her friends’ lives in their hometown of Laguna Beach, California. This series was then spunoff to create The Hills two years later. After it went off the air, though, Conrad really focused on her family life and the fashion world, never even responding to shade hurled her way by former rivals Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag. She really does seem far over all that these days. Earlier this year, meanwhile, Lauren opened up about finding her footing when it comes to parenthood. “Feeling like your quote unquote old self, I think takes a really long time,” she said in her Asking For a Friend podcast, adding at the time: “For me, I would argue it took me at least a year to start feeling like normal again.” We’re guessing millions and millions of women can relate to this quote and the sentiment behind it. Thankfully, the ex-reality star has learned to lean on her parents — and her husband’s family. “There is a lot of pressure to do it on your own and I felt that even with all the help I was like, ‘No, I need to do this all by myself,'” Lauren said. “I don’t know when we decided that that was the way it was supposed to be or set that standard because it’s so impossible. When you’re not sleeping, that’s a form of torture! “You’ll literally lose your mind to the point where I was like, ‘I don’t know if I’m qualified to watch a baby right now. I don’t know if I should be left along with my child. I haven’t slept in three days. I’m so tired.'” We feel ya, LC. And we’re so very happy for you and William! Congrats on the new addition!
