Sheriff David Clarke Will Accept Job With Homeland Security The guy we love to hate, tap-dancin’ Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke is set to become a federal employee. According to USAToday , Clarke has accepted a new job as assistant secretary in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. His job is described as a liaison of state in the Office of Partnership and Engagement. Clarke said one of his responsibilities would be to “take complaints of shortcomings in the Department of Homeland Security.” “They feel like they’re being ignored,” Clarke said of his counterparts in local law enforcement. We’re not sure what any of that REALLY means, but one thing’s for sure, if David Clarke has accepted the job that means that he’s going to be doing his best to undermine Black folks and blame us for any and all suffering. Be calm, I never actually said I was on the plane.’” Bow continued and spoke to his “method” and his personal experience after the photo was exposed as fake. “I’m bulletproof to it all,” said Bow. “Once America got a hold of it I said, OK. I said, damn we got a show coming. This is probably gonna be the newest hot show on WE tv. F%@k it, I’m runnin’ with it. We gonna ride this wave, we gonna spin this thing around,” said Bow. “And for me and my homies, we joke all the time. Like, we be at the studio, we be at the bar, and it’s no cut. What I mean by that is there’s no holds barred when we crack jokes. So for me, I think what a lot of people don’t understand is, by me being in the game since five (years old), I’m pretty much bulletproof to it all. I’ve heard it all. Before he signed to the rap powerhouse, the Atlanta MC was arguably the most sought-after unsigned talent in the game, so it’s no surprise that he was in high demand. Still, if Lil Wayne had had his way, 2 Chainz would’ve linked up with his Young Money record label. “I was one of the first people invited to Young Money, before the album. Wayne asked me,” Chainz said when he appeared on Wednesday’s “RapFix Live.” The two spitters have history. Weezy appeared with 2 Chainz (then known as Tity Boi) on “Duffle Bag Boy,” the 2007 single with his group Playaz Circle. Two years later, Dos spent significant time on the road with Tunechi during his I Am Still Music Tour. At the time, however, 2 Chainz chose to remain loyal to Playaz Circle and honor his deal with Ludacris’ Disturbing Tha Peace record label. Ultimately, he didn’t want to seem like he was hopping from label to label, though he maintains that he and Wayne have a true friendship. “From the outside looking in, I hate to see people look like they clique hopping,” Chainz said. “But when you just look at an artist that went from here to this subsidiary, to this subsidiary — for me I felt like I’m smart enough to sign 2 Chainz slash Def Jam like I did.” Instead of signing to another artist, with Def Jam the “Spend It” MC was able to become his own boss and partner his new label T.R.U. with the deep-rooted record company. Just ask Mary J Blige , whose purported collaboration with Nicki Minaj on a song called “Feel Inside” prematurely surfaced online a few weeks ago. Soon after the leak, Blige’s camp revealed that, while the duo are working on a track together for the singer’s new album, My Life Too: The Journey Continues (dropping October 4), the song that hit the blogosphere was the result of two different studio sessions and not the real thing. MTV News recently caught up with Blige to get her take on the leak, and she was none too pleased. “I was pissed about the leaking of the Nicki Minaj and Mary J Blige record, because that’s not fair and people shouldn’t do that,” she said bluntly. “But I’m over it. We move on. We’re going to make more hot music.” Asked what other special guests can be expected on the forthcoming project, MJB remained coy, saying she didn’t want to reveal any other featured collaborators until “maybe a month from now” to make sure everything is “etched in stone.” While Blige didn’t dish too many details about her and Minaj’s collabo, songwriter Andrea Martin (Melanie Fiona, Leona Lewis), the woman who penned the tune, did offer some insight into the Harajuku Barbie-assisted track. “It was a surprise to know that Nicki Minaj jumped on the song and nobody wanted to tell me. I was like ‘What’s going on? What’s going on?’ ” Martin told MTV News. “It’s just such a great thing. I’ve always wanted to work with Mary J. Blige, and I finally got the chance to, and it was a good time for me to prove myself that I can write songs for you, baby.” For fans who are still waiting for the finalized collabo to surface, they’ll be happy to hear that the song is tentatively scheduled to be one of the project’s first singles, with MJB’s camp already scouting a video director for the song. Outing kicks off Monday in New York. The 17-date outing, which begins at New York City’s Highline Ballroom on Monday, will venture throughout the East Coast and Canada before wrapping up in New Jersey in February. In a statement, Hill said she “may never play venues of this size again.” According to a press release , the rapper/singer will be accompanied by a live band and will perform a set list of the many hits from her celebrated 1998 solo album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. For those fans who are hoping to hear something new from Hill, they can expect to see some of her biggest hits “reworked yet faithful to the rigor, soulfulness and power of the original music.” Initial news of the reclusive singer hitting the road for a series of East Coast shows broke a few weeks ago. When MTV News caught up with the iconic artist in August, she kept mum on when the hungry public could expect a new album, saying, “We’re getting closer. That’s all I can say.” While the singer takes her time with new music, she revealed that she enjoys the versatility of today’s artists. “I have respect for what people do,” Hill said. “I also like to hear the eclectics, I like to hear the mixture. There’s a lot of different creative energies out there right now. I respect the different sounds that I’m hearing. It’s been such a long time since I’ve gotten my voice and my ideas [out]. In terms of collaborations, that’s not even something I’ve been thinking about per se. I’m happy that people are still making music. That we still have a platform with which to make music. Singer is discharged two days after apparent suicide attempt. The “American Idol” season-three victor was rushed to the hospital Monday after she was found in a North Carolina home. Barrino’s manager, Brian Dickens, confirmed to MTV News that she was released from Carolinas Medical Center-Mercy in North Carolina after being admitted to the hospital under an alias. “She has been lifted up by the outpouring of love and support from her fans,” Dickens said in a statement to MTV News. “She is more committed than ever to her daughter and her work because they are her heart, her soul and inspiration.” The “Idol” champ shocked fans when she reportedly attempted to take her own life by ingesting a combination of aspirin and a sleep aid . Many Barrino fans have expressed their support during the past few days; however, some have blasted the singer for her alleged relationship with a married man and for almost leaving her young daughter without a mother. Although Barrino has been the subject of public criticism and is obviously experiencing setbacks in her personal life, public-relations expert Howard Bragman believes the Free Yourself singer will be able to bounce back. “I think the number-one thing Fantasia has to do is heal. I think she has to get some psychological help, find out what brought her to this moment, and make sure it doesn’t happen again … that is number one,” Bragman told MTV News. “And once that’s under control, then you start to look at your projects on the horizon. You don’t give yourself this timetable.
