‘American Idol’ Alum Chris Daughtry Weighs In On Judging Changes

Rodriguez/Getty Images Chris Daughtry comes from a simpler reality-show era; he was on “American Idol” in 2006, when the show had its three founding judges — Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson — passing judgment on the contestants that crossed their path. Now, of course, Abdul is long gone, and Cowell has followed her out the door . Meanwhile, recent addition Ellen DeGeneres left the show after just one season, and rumors are thick that Kara DioGuardi, a judge since 2009, might head for the exit as well . Though the “Idol” landscape has changed drastically since Daughtry’s time on its stage, the multiplatinum rocker is very much looking forward to seeing what Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez , who are rumored to be joining the panel for the show’s 10th season, will bring to the table.

Lee DeWyze, Crystal Bowersox Sign Record Deals

Both ‘American Idol’ finalists inked deals for major-label debuts on Thursday. By Gil Kaufman Crystal Bowersox and Lee DeWyze Photo: FOX That was fast. Less than 24 hours after winning season nine of “American Idol,” Lee DeWyze signed a record deal with 19 Recordings Limited and RCA Records, while his pal and runner-up, Crystal Bowersox , inked a contract with 19 Recordings Limited and Jive for her debut major-label album. According to Billboard.com , the pacts were signed on Thursday and will have DeWyze joining the label that houses such “Idol” luminaries as Chris Daughtry and Adam Lambert. Bowersox will rub elbows with the likes of Kris Allen, Jordin Sparks and Allison Iraheta.

Move over, Ray J and Kim Kardashian. You’ve had your graphic moment. Justin Frye and Kendra Wilkinson are the new king and queen of celebrity sex tape sales. Yup, the Kendra tape we originally doubted was even real is not only legit, but legit XXX box office gold – more than Kim’s popular tape. And it’s not even out yet! Pre-sales for the Kendra Wilkinson sex tape are the biggest in Vivid Entertainment history, topping Kim, Mindy McCready, Shauna Sand, Kelli McCarty, and so on. Kim’s not exactly hurting for kash these days, of kourse, so we doubt she kares. But it’s somewhat surprising the Kendra tape has garnered this much interest. The only real question is … Who would you rather watch somebody put it to?

The Kendra Wilkinson sex tape has proved to be a hot … seller. Justin Frye was outed as the dude on it, and a number of RSNFW pics were leaked. Rima Fakih was crowned Miss USA 2010. The first Muslim-American winner was allowed to keep her title despite her past as a stripper pole champ . Rumors surfaced that LeBron James’ mom, Gloria, was doing his teammate, Delonte West . The James’ lawyer denies it. Calvin Murphy says it’s true. Rima Fakih is your new Miss USA, controversy and all. Dr. Arnold Klein says Michael Jackson chose who he loved . Dr. Conrad Murray actually helped save a life this time – some woman on board a flight! The great Justin Bieber truly transcends all racial boundaries. But is Greyson Chance , 12, already the second coming of Biebs … or of Lady Gaga? The recovering Bret Michaels had a stroke. Get well soon, B. God totally hates Kim Kardashian . Seriously We have proof. Jennifer Aniston posed, sweaty, for some sexy SmartWater . Food dude Juan Carlos Cruz may have tried to off his wife. The sights of Dancing with the Stars this week. Jensen and Danneel made it official. Audrina and Ryan officially split. It’s over: Audrina Patridge and Ryan Cabrera called it quits, as did Amanda Seyfriend and Dominic Cooper; Hef booted those Shannon Twins. Wedding bells: Valerie Bertinelli and businessman beau Tom Vitale are engaged; CW hotties Jensen Ackles and Daneeel Harris got married! Baby news: Amy Adams had a girl; Claudia Schiffer had a girl (her third child); Drew Lachey had a boy (second child); John Travolta and Kelly Preston are expecting; Chris Daughtry and wife Deanna are expecting twins! Michael Lynche Eliminated from American Idol

American Idol may be an utter bore this season, but it can still deliver an emotional wallop at times. On last night’s results show, for example, Michael Lynche and Crystal Bowersox found themselves in the bottom two. After Ryan Seacrest revealed that Big Mike would be heading home, the tears started to flow. First, from Michael’s wife, cradling the couple’s newborn daughter. Then, from various audience members as Lynche sang Michael Jackson’s “Will You Be There” and, finally, from a certain celebrity gossip blogger’s living room. He just seemed really nice, okay?!? We’re down to Bowersox, Casey James and Lee DeWyze on the worst season in Idol history. Who do you hope takes home the crown? The night was not a total downer, of course. It seems the mop-topped trio are really rooting for the singer to win it all. “I don’t know all of their names, but what is the guy that sang that … Big Mike! I think he has an amazing voice,” Joe Jonas told MTV News. “He’s really talented. I want to say he’s one of my favorites right now.” Joe and his brothers say that even if Lynche doesn’t win, they are sure he has a very bright future ahead of him. “On ‘American Idol,’ they’re all so talented, and even if you don’t win, it seems like a majority of them end up becoming winners of their own because they are so talented,” he said of successful “Idol” alumni like Jennifer Hudson, Chris Daughtry and Clay Aiken, who didn’t win their seasons. Joe knows a thing or two about season nine of “Idol,” since he has already appeared as a guest judge during the Dallas auditions and performed with Demi Lovato during a results show. But the guys aren’t sure whether they will stop by again this season. “It seems like it’s getting pretty close to the end,” Joe said. “But who knows?
