Last Of A Dying Breed: This Is The Only Blockbuster Left!

Continued here:

Source: Patrick Wymore / Getty For millennials who remember how dominant Blockbuster was in the 1990’s, it’s hard to believe that there’s only on store left standing in the streaming era. It’s even more amazing when you remember that 18 years ago, Blockbuster had the chance to buy Netflix (the competitor that most agree put them out of business) for just $50 million. Today, Netflix is reportedly worth $32.9 billion and is available in 40 countries. All you can do is shake your head and salute the folks holding it down at the Bend, Oregon chain. This video store in Bend, Oregon, will be the last remaining Blockbuster in the United States https://t.co/HikAKDadWb pic.twitter.com/7LVesgfqUi — CNN (@CNN) July 13, 2018

The Voice Recap: It Has All Come Down to This

After four consecutive weeks of The Voice results that culled the field down from 12 to just four, it’s was all on the line last night. Of the four singers who’ve made it this far, each of them achieved amazing things to do that, but only one will be named … THE VOICE. Who will it be? Team Adam’s Jordan Smith kicked things off with a rendition of “Climb Every Mountain” from The Sound of Music, showing off his range. Up next was Team Blake’s Emily Ann Roberts, delivering her take on “Blue Christmas” and playing to her understated but lovely strengths. Team Blake’s other competitor, Barrett Baber, went for the throwback on Glen Campbell’s “Rhinestone Cowboy” with his coach, Shelton.  Team Gwen’s Jeffrey Austin sang “O Holy Night” in an arrangement that really allowed him to show off his abilities and make it unique. Levine and Smith teamed up for a duet of “God Only Knows,” an interesting option for the two of them, who seem suited for pop songs. Then it was Baber’s turn to go solo, and with “Die a Happy Man,” he made it count, connecting with the song and his audience nicely. Roberts and Shelton performed a duet of Dolly Parton’s “Islands In the Stream,” and their harmonies proved to be a terrific fit all around. Austin’s next pick was “Stay” by Sugarland, the kind of song that, again, allowed him to do what he does best and sneak up on people. Baber, for his Christmas song, went with the classic “Silent Night,” but put some of his country twist on it, improving as he went along. Austin then sang a duet of “Leather and Lace” with coach Stefani, perhaps delivering the evening’s most memorable performances overall. Smith sang “Mary Did You Know” for his Christmas song, and wow. He made the last-minute switch to this one and it paid off in spades. Closing out the night, Roberts sang “Burning House” by Cam, a contemporary country song that ended up rewarding her for the risk. And there you have it folks. Tuesday night, The Voice Season 9 champion will be crowned. Who do you think it will – and should – be?

Kendall Jenner Booty of the Day

The rumor is that the younger Kardashian affiliate, who isn’t quite a Kardashian, but rather a product of whatever the whore mother was before gold digging a rich Armenian lawyer in the 89s, and a pro Athlete from the Wheaties box of the 70s turned woman Jenner….but she’s still on their shit show…she’s still the one trying to be more legitimate than all the others, taking her fame whoring to a more fashion and modeling, rather than porn and hip hop video route, but she still has a fucking ass… She’s not all that hot, but that ass seems to be, especially because she’s skinny, even when pushing out her ass, that’s just how girls are built these days, whether it is GMOs or not, fake or not, the roundness of asses on all girls has substantially improved the last decade…and I appreciate a fat ass on a skinny girl, as long as it’s not too fat.. Sara Sampaio in a Bikini for Banana MOon of the Day

I fucking hate all catalog and editorial pictures for brands, even bikini brands, because they always look cheesy as fuck, even when they aren’t even that cheesy, all because they are some girl getting overpaid to pose like an idiot, for no real reason at all, other than to sell product…it’s just fucking cheesy… Catalogs and editorial campaigns, should just be real fucking people in the product, doing real things, like spilling out of said bikini, none of this candy coated phoney shit.. That said, her name is Sara Sampaio, she works for the competitor, because I assume the competitor owns a piece of every bikini and underwear company… She’s skinny as fuck, from Portugal and her claim to fame is calling out other girls for being haters because she’s healthy and they are fat…. She drove that point home, you know that she can eat whatever she wants,…whith this watermelon… Either way, she’s in a bikini The post Sara Sampaio in a Bikini for Banana MOon of the Day appeared first on DrunkenStepfather .

Debbie Rowe: Should She Become Legal Guardian of Paris Jackson?

Paris Jackson’s mom Debbie Rowe is back in the news amid speculation that she may seek control of the troubled teen, though sources say this is premature. Rowe, who was forging a close bond with her daughter before her suicide attempt (the Paris Jackson 911 call was released today), is not angling to take over. While she is planning to host Paris at her California horse farm this summer, she does not want to oust her grandmother, Katherine Jackson, in any way. “It would take Katherine dying or becoming very ill for Debbie to seek legal guardianship ,” said a source, despite reports of animosity with the family . Only if the judge makes a dramatic decision to strip Katherine of custody AND Paris wanted her to step in, then Rowe would be ready to do so. Paris could even live with Rowe indefinitely and “it still wouldn’t change the legal guardianship” situation, the source insisted, nor does it have to. “Katherine isn’t giving up the role because she feels it would let Michael down, and Debbie has too much respect for Katherine and Michael to fight her.” Would Rowe as guardian be in Paris’ best interest, though? Vote in our poll:   Yes. It sounds like she needs her mom! No! I don’t trust that woman! View Poll »

Brett Seacat Verdict: Guilty of Wife’s Murder, Arson

A Kansas jury took under a day to reach a verdict in the Brett Seacat case. He was found guilty of killing his wife Vashti and setting fire to their home. Seacat, 37, of Kingman, Kan., was convicted of first-degree murder , aggravated arson and two counts of aggravated endangering a child in the 2011 act. The jury concluded he killed Vashti Seacat 16 days after she filed for divorce, and prosecutors will seek a sentence of 50 years in prison on August 5. Jurors were tasked with determining whether Vashti committed suicide, leaving behind her two children, or if her husband brutally murdered her. In the end, they concluded he did. Motivated by the threatened loss of their marriage, police say he shot her in the head and set the house on fire. Taking the stand for over a full day last week, ex-police deputy Brett Seacat portrayed himself as a loving husband and father to two boys, then 2 and 4. He said he was burdened by his wife’s desire to break up, but continued to share their home after Vashti filed for divorce, and urged additional counseling. “I would never burn our house,” he said under questioning from the prosecution last week. “I would never expose my children to any situation like that.” A dozen of his peers apparently disagreed.

Snoop Dogg Says Puff Puff Pass Tuesdays Just ‘A Warm-Up’

Doggumentary album is gonna have 21 songs, and ‘it doesn’t hurt to give you a couple on a mixtape,’ Snoop tells Mixtape Daily. By Jayson Rodriguez, with reporting Rahman Dukes Snoop Dogg Photo: MTV News Don’t Sleep: Necessary Notables Mixtape : Puff Puff Pass Tuesdays, Vol. 1 Headliners : Snoop Dogg and DJ Skee Key Cameos : 50 Cent, Pharrell, Tyga, Game and Wiz Khalifa Essential Info : Snoop Dogg is a benevolent mogul. The veteran rapper is putting the final touches on his forthcoming 11th studio album, Doggumentary, but before the collection arrives he wanted to deliver a teaser to his longtime fans. Hence, Puff Puff Pass Tuesdays, a take on Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Fridays series, for which ‘Ye dropped a brand new effort each week. The California rhyme-spitter told Mixtape Daily he culled together the mixtape offering with the help of DJ Skee. “It’s like a warm-up before the album comes out,” Snoop explained. “For people to know exactly what you’re getting from my album. This album is gonna have 21 songs on it and it doesn’t hurt for me to give you a couple on a mixtape, ’cause I’m taking it back to the days of Snoop Dogg when I gave you more for the money. “When I give you a double-up, you spend 10 [dollars], you get 20 [songs]. That’s what you get from me. I don’t like trying to go with the way of the [music] industry. The industry will tell you, ‘Well, you should try to make an album with 12, 13 songs.’ Really, I’m shortchanging my people when I do that. When you buy from Snoop Dogg, you usually get more than what you pay for. When you come see Snoop Dogg perform, you usually get more than what you pay for. That’s who I am, that’s the brand that I build. I can’t allow a label to step in and say who Snoop Dogg should be, ’cause this is what I created.” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines . Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine Confirmed For ‘The Voice’

Cee Lo and the Maroon 5 frontman will join panel of the Carson Daly-hosted reality singing show. By Gil Kaufman Cee Lo Photo: Getty Images “American Idol” may have Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez, but soon it won’t be the only TV singing competition with two marquee-worthy music stars above its title. After weeks of negotiations, Cee Lo Green and Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine have signed on to help judge the upcoming Mark Burnett-produced NBC reality show “The Voice.” According to Entertainment Weekly , “The Voice” plans to steal some thunder from “Idol” when it launches with a two-hour program on April 26, which would put its debut near the end of the season 10 run of “Idol.” The new show will then shift into its regular time slot on May 10 at 8 p.m. “I am so happy that Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green have joined the coach panel for ‘The Voice,’ ” Burnett told EW. “Aside from being incredible voices, they bring years of experience in the music industry and a really cool vibe that has never been seen before on a music competition series.” Even with the signing of the two contemporary music stars, there are still two judge/coach seats left to fill. Speculation continues to swirl around Christina Aguilera as a possible panelist, though the singer’s reps have not commented on the rumors. “I was absolutely thrilled to be invited by Mark Burnett to join ‘The Voice’ as a coach,” Levine said in a statement. “I look forward to working with these singers and helping them push forward throughout the competition to make their musical dreams become a reality.” Cee Lo expressed similar enthusiasm for his first TV gig in a statement that read, “It’s an honor for me to be able to help mold a malleable and new talent in such a fashion as ‘The Voice’ … Being a coach on ‘The Voice’ is a substantial responsibility, and I take it with sincerity and distinction.” Seeming to take a little poke at the sell-by dates of the new “Idol” judges, NBC’s Executive VP of Alternative Programming Paul Telegdy said his goal was to sign marquee performers who are also popular with fans now and, let’s say, younger than someone like the 62-year-old Tyler. “Not to diminish other people on other shows, but it’s a different job to break through the clutter now than it was 10, 15, 20 years ago,” Telegdy said. Hosted by former MTV personality and late-night talker Carson Daly, “The Voice” is based on the hit Dutch program “The Voice of Holland,” which strays from the traditional singing-competition format. “The Voice” will feature a panel of four celebrity judges who will sit with their backs to the talented hopefuls in order to focus on their vocals rather than their physical appearance. If they approve of the audition, the judges will push a button that will send the competitor to the next round, claiming them as one of their students. In the case where more than one judge likes the singer, then the competitor gets the opportunity to choose between judges. Once the teams are chosen, the celebrity judges will mentor their contestants and eventually duel the teams against each other, with viewers picking the winners. NBC has announced that for those potential singing stars who can’t make it to the auditions, the reality competition also will let hopefuls try out for “The Voice” via webcam.
