Almost a year ago last night, Taylor Swift took the stage to accept her Grammy for Album of the Year and reignited the controversy most of us had been over since 2010. “I want to say to all the young women out there: There are going to be people along the way who will try… Read more »
Don’t let the photos fool you, people. Yes, Scott Disick has been spotted in Miami this week, cuddling up to multiple bikini-clad women and seemingly having the time of his scandalous life. But a new report suggests that Disick isn’t really happy. He isn’t really in a good place right now. He’s actually on the verge of… death. YIKES! First, a quick refresher: Disick spent a few days last week in Costa Rica with Kourtney Kardashian, his kids and other members of the Kardashian family. According to Radar Online, he showed up on this vacation “with the intention of making everything between with Kourtney,” considering the roller coaster nature of their relationship. Every other day of late, it has seemed as if we’re hearing contrasting rumors over the two being back together… being broken up… or even expecting a fourth child. “When he arrived, he was already drunk and reeking like booze,” an insider tells Radar of Disick . This source goes on to say that Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian believed Disick to be “so spun out” that they actually grabbed the keys to his hotel room. And what they found led to the epic fight that prompted Scott to board a flight to Miami. “When Kris and Kim went into his room, there was some random chick in there and the room was filled with booze and other signs of a party,” Radar write, adding: “Kris told him that she could not believe that he would do this on their family vacation. Scott basically told Kris that she could go f-ck herself!” Wow. Talk about a lot of drama! “Scott packed up his stuff after getting into a screaming match with Kris and Kim and security was called to escort him out,” this report alleges. “He got onto a plane and they haven’t spoken to him since!” But they’ve certainly heard all about him by this point. Multiple outlets have posted stories about his exploits with the opposite sex in Florida, although both E! News and Entertainment Tonight say Kourtney is fine with anything Disick does. “They were never back on,” a friend tells E! News, countering talk that Disick and Kardashian were back together at various points in the last year and adding: “They don’t even live together.” They do pose for many photos together, however. To wit: Still, even if Kourtney is cool with Disick slipping it to whatever women he do desires, that doesn’t mean she and her loved ones aren’t concerned about Scott right now. He may cause them distress. But they still care about the guy. “Scott is really tempting fate right now and he knows this,” the source tells Radar. “Sadly, it seems like is only a matter of time before his actions catch up with him and friends fear if he keeps going like this he will end up dead.” Disick has been a known party animal ever since he met Kourtney. She finally broke up with his sorry rear end in the summer of 2015 after he spent more time drinking with an ex-girlfriend in France than he spent with his family. View Slideshow: The Good, The Bad, The Lord: 23 Times Scott Disick Owned Reality TV We thought the two might make up at some point and even get married someday. But that’s looking less and less likely. At this point, we just hope Disick doesn’t die any time too soon. We aren’t huge fans of the guy, but he does have three little kids who call him “Daddy.” They deserve to grow up with two parents.
As you’re probably aware, there are lots of frightening, controversial things going on in the news these days. At times like these, it’s important to put frivolity aside and focus on the real issues that affect everyday Americans the most. Obviously, we’re talking about the controversy surrounding Kylie Jenner’s wax figure at Madam Tussaud’s. Yes, Kylie is the latest member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan to be transformed into a plastic, vaguely life-like facsimile of an actual human being. And on top of that, they’re making a wax figure in her likeness! Zing! Naturally, Kylie is excited about the prospect of being immortalized in wax, and she’s being sharing her joy with fans in a series of social media posts: “You guys, we’re here doing the first measurements. I’m getting my very own wax figure. It takes like six months,” Kylie wrote on Snapchat yesterday. “Thanks Madame Tussaud’s can’t wait to live in Hollywood forever lol,” she added. She even shared a video of herself posing for the statue: Kylie Jenner Wax Figure Video Not as racy as the typical Kylie Jenner video , but it received plenty of positive attention nonetheless. But where there are fans, there are haters, and it seems that Kylie’s waxification has not been without its share of controversy. Some fans believe that Kylie has instructed the folks in charge of creating her statue to make her skin tone several shades darker than it is in real life. The theory stems from videos in which the skin tone pallet that sculptors are using can briefly be seen: Kylie Jenner: Darkening Her Skin? And why would Kylie’s desire to be depicted in a deep shade of Snooki bronze be controversial? Well, for a number of reasons… For one, Kylie’s slow transformation into Kim Kardashian has been regarded with puzzlement and consternation for years now. Unlike Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe, Kylie is not of Armenian descent, yet she seems to be doing her best to fit herself (through cosmetic procedures and photo re-touching) into the swarthy, curvy mold that her sisters owe to their Middle Eastern genes. On top of that, the ladies of the Kard clan have been accused of appropriating black culture on numerous occasions, and Kylie has arguably been the worst offender. Kylie has even been accused of wearing blackface in some confusing (and possibly very troubling) modeling photos. Natrually, the 19-year-old social media queen was less than pleased with the controversy surrounding her wax figure, and she took to Snapchat to address the criticism: “I’m not trying to make my wax figure darker than I am, you f**king idiots,” Kylie ranted in a video. “They were mixing all those colors on a palette, not me. Stop reaching. I don’t even have say in this, so let’s leave it to the professionals, people.” We’re inclined to side with Kylie on this one. But that doesn’t mean she won’t do something profoundly stupid and racially insensitive before the week is out. View Slideshow: Kylie Jenner Selfies: A Kandid Kollection

“I was pissed!”— Rickey Smiley Rickey Smiley Defends His Son Malik Smiley People are steaming mad at Rickey Smiley’s teenage son and the comedian/radio host is responding. On a recent episode of “Rickey Smiley: For Real”, Rickey’s 15-year-old son Malik was seen going on a blind date with a black girl. When his cousin, who set him up on the date, asked him how it was going Malik told him he wasn’t feeling it. Why? Because he doesn’t find black girls attractive. “Her face,” said Malik. “Black females are not attractive to me. I look at them like my sisters… I went to an all-white school. Sometimes people have different tastes, and I don’t have a taste for her.” W….T….F…??? (6:50 mark) Your browser does not support iframes. Rickey has since said the producer on the show made his son say that… and he’s highly disappointed. Rickey addressed the controversy on his morning show; hit the flip.

Apparently God May Have A Fashion Sense, Of Sorts Young Thug set the internet ablaze when his new album cover featured him fitted in a periwinkle colored dress. As Black Twitter vacillated on their feelings about his fashion choices, Thugger said it shouldn’t surprise anyone. His decision to wear the dress was, apparently, one of divine intervention but he’s been wearing girl’s/women’s clothing for a really long time. He discusses how his father used to discipline him for his fashion choices but he continues to wear what he wants because he doesn’t care what anyone thinks. via AllHipHop Young Thug has finally opened up about the controversy he recently caused by donning an extravagant gown on the cover of his latest mixtape release, No My Name Is Jeffrey . His statements are likely to turn more heads. “When I seen that dress, I felt like God gave it to me.” Thugger said when reflecting on the first time he laid eyes on the threads. In the artist’s interview with Billboard , he also gave a little insight as to the origin of his gender bender choices of fashion. “When I was 12, my feet were so small I wore my sisters’ glitter shoes,” he explained. The rapper then continued, “My dad would whoop me: ‘You’re not going to school now, you’ll embarrass us!’ But I never gave a f— what people think.” Thugger came close to breaking the internet when the cover of his project was released, as fans went into a frenzy, cooking up hilarious memes, while his Hip-Hop peers chastised his actions. Despite all of the backlash, Young Thug still managed to land in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 charts for the second time with the August 26 release. Thug is going to continue to do and wear what he wants and the sooner people let that go, the better off they will be.
Nate Parker Apologizes For Lack Of Gender Perspective, Addresses Male Privilege Nate Parker has been getting dragged relentlessly over the past few weeks , ever since details of past sexual assault allegations hit the news . Faced with cancelled screenings and potential backlash against his latest film project, Parker is admitting his initial response to his past being brought up was not the best: According to Ebony reports : After answering a question about why he chose to make “yet another slave film,” Parker addressed the controversy head-on. “I think it’s very difficult to talk about injustice and not deal with what’s happening right now,” the 36-year-old actor and director told the audience. “When I was first met with the news that this part of my past had come up, my knee-jerk reaction was selfish. I wasn’t thinking about even the potential hurt of others; I was thinking about myself.” For the next 12 minutes, Parker discussed learning about things like toxic masculinity and male privilege, while explaining that he isn’t upset the rape allegation has been resurrected. “This is happening for a very specific reason,” Parker explained, referencing God throughout the conversation. “To be honest, my privilege as a male, I never thought about it. I’m walking around daring someone to say something or do something that I define is racist or holding us back, but never really thinking about male culture and the destructive effect it’s having on our community.” Definitely a good start right? There’s more though. Parker spoke at length with the Ebony reporter, discussing how little his 19-year-old self understood about consent and honestly a lot of what he has to say is STILL problematic. EBONY.com: You started out tonight addressing the controversy, and you talked a lot about male culture and toxic masculinity. So I want to kind of compare. What, at 19, did you know about consent? Nate Parker: To be honest, not very much. It wasn’t a conversation people were having. When I think about 1999, I think about being a 19-year-old kid, and I think about my attitude and behavior just toward women with respect objectifying them. I never thought about consent as a definition, especially as I do now. I think the definitions of so many things have changed. EBONY.com: So how does it differ for you? Nate Parker: You mean like where I am right now? EBONY.com: Yeah, as 36-year-old Nate. Nate Parker: Put it this way, when you’re 19, a threesome is normal. It’s fun. When you’re 19, getting a girl to say yes, or being a dog, or being a player, cheating. Consent is all about–for me, back then–if you can get a girl to say yes, you win. Wayment. Did he actually say “a threesome is normal”? As in a threesome with two guys and a girl? That’s normal? Is that something that most people would agree with? Cuz we’re not seeing it. The good news is Parker does OWN up to the selfishness of his initial response: EBONY.com: You mentioned that your initial comments about the resurrection of this incident were self-centered, and from an emotional place on your behalf. So do you understand why people are struggling with… Nate Parker: Absolutely! I understand now, but I was speaking from a standpoint of ignorance. EBONY.com: Two weeks ago, you mean? Nate Parker: Yeah. Well, when you don’t know, you don’t know. It’s like, if I don’t know how to swim and two weeks later I know how to swim, I know how to swim. Honestly, when I started reading them comments I had to call some people and say, What did I do wrong? What did I say wrong? I called a couple of sisters that know that are in the space that talk about the feminist movement and toxic masculinity, and just asked questions. What did I do wrong? Because I was thinking about myself. And what I realized is that I never took a moment to think about the woman. I didn’t think about her then, and I didn’t think about her when I was saying those statements, which was wrong and insensitive. I just really wanted to know more about what I was talking about. People were saying, why isn’t he speaking soon? Cuz I still didn’t know nothing. I don’t want…this ain’t the hype for me. Much better. Now we’re getting somewhere. More on Parker’s awakening when you continue. WENN
