Criminal Minds to End After Season 15

The Behavioral Analysis Unit will soon shutter its doors. For good. CBS announced on Thursday that Criminal Minds has been renewed for a 15th season, delivering great news to fans of this long-running drama… yet tempering their mood with some awful news. This will be the 15th and FINAL season. The concluding run will consist of 10 episodes, the network added, bringing the show’s total by the time all it said, done and solved to an astounding 325 installments. “It’s really bittersweet, but I’m so, so grateful to CBS for giving us this heads-up,” showrunner Erica Messer told TV Line of getting the news. She added: “I think one of my biggest fears was always, ‘Oh man, what if we don’t know’ and then they just don’t bring back the show? But they respect this series and the cast and the crew and the fans enough to end this properly.” The procedural is one of the longest-running dramas on CBS. “We wanted to make sure Erica had the time and ability to write a season (14) finale that honors the characters and the fans,” CBS Executive Vice President of Current Programs Amy Reisenbach told Deadline. “We discussed wanting to keep the show in continuous production so 10 felt like the right number for us to roll straight into and give Erica enough episodes to end the series the way she wanted to.” Speaking to Deadline, Messer also explained that the final season will film immediately following the conclusion of the current season — and that a major character may be killed off. Look for a “very worthy” adversary for the team to be introduced, she previewed, especially David Rossi. The bad guy will be introduced later in Season 14. “We have one in the works right now who’s a very memorable villain, but I don’t want to say too much if it doesn’t work out with casting,” Messer added. Messer has been in charge of Criminal Minds since it premiered. It is averaging 4.7 million total viewers and a 0.8 rating among 18-49-year olds in its Wednesdays-at-10/9c time slot. Season 14 will wrap up for viewers on February 6, so look for a huge cliffhanger that will make you hunger for the final season in 2019-2020. Messer, meanwhile, has had plenty of time to figure out how she wants the series to say goodbye. But that vision has also changed throughout the past decade-plus of being on the air. “That journey has changed a lot from the early days on the show because I wouldn’t have anticipated all the changes that’ve happened,” she said to Deadline. “I also don’t know if I would’ve anticipated that we’d have 325 episodes by the time it’s all said and done. It’s such an honor to be part of a series for that long.” This is how she concluded the interview, talking about the finale and what we can expect: “These people are family and friends to us at this point. I know it’s a drama, but I’m less likely to injure or write someone off in a way that says they’re not breathing anymore. I know a lot of shows, when they find out it’s going to be over, then characters are killed off or something like that. That’s not my instinct, mainly because I’ve been here for so long with all of these voices, I just don’t want that to be how it ends for them. So the jet won’t crash, I can tell you that.

Ari Melber , host of MSNBC’s The Beat, was comparing the investigation of the  Trump administration to President Nixon ‘s Watergate scandal of 1972. According to materials Melber received about the scandal, Nixon’s broad use of executive privilege to withhold information led to his impeachment case. Now Melber believes Trump might be trying to use his executive privilege in the same way. “[Nixon’s impeachment case is] worth bearing in mind as the Trump White House now stonewalls investigators, but insist it’s not really invoking executive privilege, or it’s trying some kind of modified halfway executive privilege,” Melber reported. That’s when Melber dropped the iconic line from Mobb Deep ‘s “Shook Ones, Pt. And that’s the big problem facing any White House pursuing a cover up with halfway privilege.” Havoc definitely peeped Melber’s reference, since he posted the clip to his Instagram. “Couldn’t be put any better,” Havoc commented. Tyrese Gibson: Wait, I Love Vin Diesel, Too!

Tyrese Gibson is full of love, people. He wants you to know that. Earlier this week, Dwayne Johnson caused quite an uproar online when he shared a rant on Instagram that called out one of his Fast 8 co-stars. He didn’t name this individual, but he did say he it was a “male” and he railed against this actor’s unprofessionalism, referring to him as a “candy ass.” In Dwayne Johnson parlance, this is as serious as it gets. It didn’t take long for sources to reveal that Johnson’s beef was with Vin Diesel . A producer on Fast 8 (which hits theaters in April), Diesel allegedly let the power go to his head, showing up late to set, insulting other stars and acting like a general jackass. Conversely, according those in the know who spoke to TMZ, Johnson was a delight to work with. He even filmed a video with members of the crew that drove this point home. Here it is: A video posted by therock (@therock) on Aug 10, 2016 at 2:43pm PDT Soon after news of this feud broke, Tyrese Gibson jumped on Instagram to clear the air. At least as far as he was concerned at least. In a heartfelt post, Gibson referred to Johnson as his “brother.” He even shared a video of Johnson singing to his daughter, writing that “a man wouldn’t be singing from his heart and soul to another mans little angel if he had a problem with her dad.” In other words: don’t look at me! Me and The Rock are cool! But perhaps afraid as if this would make it look like he was on Team Johnson and against Team Vin Diesel, Tyrese has returned to social media with a new message. “Spreading love always,” he wrote as a lengthy caption to a photo of himself and Diesel on the red carpet. He continued: Without saying I’ve had too many moments to counts, too many heart too hearts, we’ve celebrated in too many countries, too many exchanges, too many play dates with our angels…… “Our brotherhood and every moment has inspired me to be a better man and father…. So much strength to pull from……” Tyrese just wants everyone to get along, guys. This is how he concluded his Diesel shout-out: “I’m so f–king proud to call you my family and my brother…. even now I’m learning so much about sitting still and being centered in the mist of all of this unexpected energy……. “I’ve always said that if ONLY people knew how hard you work to protect this franchise and characters, minds would be blown…… The fans around the world who continue to show UP for us are just all around amazing…… “And if no one else will jump out there and stand up I will – You’re my brother for life let’s keep it positive and keep rockin this thing…… My proudest post……” Co-star Ludacris, meanwhile, seemed to give his silent co-sign to Tyrese’s post, following it with a throwback photo of the Fast cast (below) WITHOUT Johnson. Guess someone has chosen to take a side in this rivalry, huh? We’d say this feud could be nearing its end, but there are a couple things to note: Cast members will need to do press in a few months to promote the film. That ought to be interesting. And Diesel has said he’ll soon tell everyone everything … so buckle up, readers! Nothing is over just yet.

Kim Zolciak: Tight Pants and Loose Lips at LAX

Ah, Los Angeles.  Home of movie studios, fancy cars, and an airport that doubles as a celebrity hotspot.  Flying is glamorous once again, ladies and gentlemen! While you schlepped your bags to the gate at LAX, only to wait for a middle seat in coach right by the bathroom, Kim Zolciak and her husband, Kroy had a fine chat with the paparazzi. Dressed in tight black paneled pants, a white tee, oversized aviators and sporting a small Chanel bag, Zolciak let the paps follow her into the Delta terminal, according to Sta r Magazine.   The paps, eager to take a mile as soon as you give them an inch, tried to get Zolciak to spill on her recent dinner with Khloe Kardashian. Two days ago, Zolciak shared an Instagram of dinner with the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star at Morton's in Beverly Hills.   Kardashian and the Biermanns were joined by Kardashian's best friends, twins Malika Khadijah Haqq. “I guess I should just move here,” Zolciak captioned the photo. At LAX, one of the paps asked Zolciak how she and Kardashian decide who pays for the meal. Biermann joked that whoever pulls their wallet out first pays before it was revealed that he picked up the tab (“he's a gentleman,” Zolciak added). The Don't Be Tardy stars then cut a bunch of people by hopping in line for security, but continued talking. The pap commented that Zolciak is spending a lot of time in LA, and she said it was because of her skincare line Kashmere, which launched back in May.   Does Zolciak plan on relocating? “I don't know, I feel like I should,” Zolciak said.  The pap pressed on and asked if her moving would affect The Real Housewives of Atlanta . “My show can film anywhere,” Zolciak responded. A few months ago, Zolciak teased that she very well could return for season nine of Atlanta , but since Don't Be Tardy is going into its fifth season, Zolciak doesn't have much time to spare otherwise. The pap would not let it go, asking if she'd join The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills . Annoyed that the guy kept asking about Housewive s when she has her own damn show, Zolciak made herself clear. “I have my own show. Why would I [go on another show],” Zolciak said, wanting so badly to say, “Dude, do your homework.”

Thomas Gibson Speaks on Criminal Minds Firing

In the most stunning piece of TV news this month, Thomas Gibson is out of a job. The veteran C riminal Minds star got suspended for two weeks after kicking a writer on the set of his hit show… … and then, BOOM ! A day after this information went public, Thomas Gibson got fired . CBS executives released a short, terse statement this afternoon in which they relieved Gibson of his duties as BAU Agent Aaron Hotcher, saying: “Thomas Gibson has been dismissed from Criminal Minds. “Creative details for how the character’s exit will be addressed in the show will be announced at a later date.” Was it simply a matter of Gibson getting into the aforementioned dispute with a producer named Virgil Williams? No, it doesn’t sound that way. An earlier report alleged that Gibson also shoved an assistant director back in 2010 (the same year he was pulled over for drunk driving, FWIW) and was told to attend anger management classes as a result. The actor appears to have a history of violence on the Criminal Minds set . We can’t say for certain, but it’s therefore safe to assume that there may have been other incidents in between these two that have not yet been made public. Due to this influx of inappropriate actions, CBS felt that it had no choice but to let Gibson go. A couple hours after he was ousted from a job he held since 2005, Gibson released a statement to TV Line . “I love Criminal Minds and have put my heart and soul into it for the last 12 years,” it reads. “I had hoped to see it through to the end, but that won’t be possible now. “I would just like to say thank you to the writers, producers, actors, our amazing crew, and, most importantly, the best fans that a show could ever hope to have.” Gibson is the lead of the show. So fans will no doubt be wondering: How is this going to work?!? We have it on strong authority that Gibson will appear on the first two episodes of Criminal Minds Season 12. His character will then be sent off on a special assignment, which coincides with Paget Brewset coming back to reprise the role of Emily Prentiss. She will assist the BAU on a case, which is a stroke of good fortunate for the drama (this was all planned out before the Gibson situation even arose). CBS obviously hopes that Brewster’s return will soften the blow of Gibson’s departure. But there are still many questions that will need to be answered as Season 12 goes along. Hotcher simply isn’t coming back, which will need to be explained, while viewers wonder if a new male lead will be brought in to take Gibson’s place. Remember: Shemar Moore departed the show as Derek Morgan just prior to Season 11 ending, so Criminal Minds has lost two key players in a matter of months. How do you feel about this huge casting decision? You’ve gotta figure producers didn’t think they had a choice if they made it so quickly, right? Will you tune in for the September 28 premiere? Think other Thomas Gibson stories will soon come out? Should he be replaced as soon as possible? Can you think of another actor you want to take over at the BAU? AHHH! We have so many questions! Here’s a look at the sort of company Gibson has now joined: View Slideshow: 18 Actors Who Were Fired From Major Roles
