Here’s What Fans Are Saying About The New Season Of ‘Arrested Development’

Source: NurPhoto / Getty Arrested Development has been a cult-classic TV show since it first aired on Fox back in 2003, but it’s only picked up more steam since it’s premature Fox cancellation and Netflix revival 10 years later. Now, season 5 has arrived to the streaming service 5 years following its initial resuscitation, and there is a lot at stake. Fans were obviously excited at the chance to hang out with the dysfunctional Bluth family once more, even though reviews for season 4 back in 2013 were almost completely negative. That excitement was stifled once a New York Times interview showed tension and a lack of passion between the cast, namely Jeffrey Tambor and his male cast mates against a crying Jessica Walter . This encounter turned off many from the show, but of course, die-hard fans are still going to watch regardless. Season 5 premiered on Netflix on Tuesday, and it’s already garnering mixed reviews. While chatting about recent happenings in the dysfunctional group, Kim hinted that rumors from last season about Kandi Burruss being a closeted lesbian were true—considering that she allegedly offered her some same-sex loving. “On my kids lives, let God strike me dead, I wouldn’t let her [Kandi] lick my box.” said Kim. Wait a minute…. Kandi was obviously watching the show in real time because she then exploded on Twitter and reminded “lying a** b***” Kim that “Real Housewives Of Atlanta” is “her house.” I’m sick of these bitches lying on me. @KimZolciak I have NEVER wanted you or your box. Rob Kardashian Shows Support for Kylie Jenner

Rob Kardashian is back on social media. And also back to being pretty gosh darn weird about it. A few days after  Kylie Jenner released an actual lip kit (on sale now! For just $29!), her reclusive half-sibling shared an adorable picture on Instagream. It features his bulldog sitting at a computer, staring at Kyle’s lip kit online and apparently distraught over the fact that he cannot purchase it. “I guess someone is disappointed they didn’t get Kylie’s lipkit!!!! Don’t worry buddy more coming soon!” Rob wrote as a funny caption. Rob Kardashian, of course, has been estranged from his family for over a year and a half now. Such as he’s done here, Rob has reached out a few times on Twitter and on Instagram… but he was not included in the family Thanksgiving photo and he has not made any appearances on Keeping Up with the Kardashians Season 11. It’s clear that Rob is sick of the spotlight, while he’s also admitted himself on multiple occasions that he’s ashamed of his overweight body. We’re guessing it doesn’t help that his famous sisters are always talking about the desire to slim down their own bodies. This is a family that is seemingly accepting of everything… except excess weight. However, Kardashian may be featured in the family Christmas photo this year. For a price , that is. Sunday on The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 8 Episode 5 , Cynthia and Porsha’s argument turned nuclear on the ladies’ cruise. While that beef heated up and there was clearly no love lost on this love boat, Kandi hoped to receive some big news from her doctor … If you watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta online , you know the Cynthia Bailey and Porsha Williams feud was nearing its boiling point. Porsha called Cynthia a bitch, which she said was a term of endearment, but Cyn wasn’t buying it, and well, neither was backing down. “We have had years of issues back and forth; I’m going to find out if this how it’s gonna all fall out,” Porsha shouted as Cynthia asked: “This is how you want to be? This is how you want to be?” Fans who love cat fights might answer yes, but the cast? The pushing, shoving and kicking escalated quickly. “I’ve seen this before. She’s like a rabid dog. This is a scary scene,” Kenya Moore, who knows what getting beat down by Porsha is like, said. Pretty nuts all around, even by their standards. In the aftermath of the brawl, Kandi Burruss headed to the doctor for an ultrasound of her baby, while Todd Tucker … had a phone call. One that caused him to miss its heartbeat. Finding work-life balance is tough on all of us, but at least they know it’s a boy … oh wait, that’s just the leg. Sorry Todd. Maybe it still is? Meanwhile, back to the dysfunctional mess that is Cynthia and Porsha’s feud, Kenya decided to insert herself into their reconciliation. It was as bad an idea as it sounds like. Basically, Kenya tried to point out that Porsha was a repeat offender in terms of violence, and Williams didn’t take kindly to this “gotcha” moment. “I don’t trust you,” Porsha told Kenya, wholly unimpressed with her motives. “You don’t have any compassion for me, and I know that.” Still, Porsha said she would “give Cynthia a chance” to make it right, while Bailey admitted that things got out of hand. So there’s hope? Kim Fields, Sheree Whitfield, Kandi, Cynthia, and Phaedra Parks were on edge when Cynthia and Porsha showed up at the same lunch. Once they had some privacy (except for gawking co-stars and Bravo cameras), Porsha and Cynthia got into it … fists-free this time. “Just bruising, so I took a couple days off from work,” Porsha said when Cynthia asked how she is. “But emotionally, I was bothered by the situation.” Porsha stuck to her story, though. “However that made you feel, that was not my intention behind it,” she said of bitch-gate, and that was close enough as apologies go. “I came here today to apologize for my part in it,” Cynthia said, following non-apology suit. “I had no expectation from you whatsoever.” Incredibly, they hugged it out. Tasha Smith Ordered To Pay Husband $7k A Month Perpetual Tyler Perry actress Tasha Smith is about to feel the full financial wrath of a bitter ex-boo. The actress is being ordered to pay her husband, Keith Douglas, $7k a month on top of the $50k settlement following their dysfunctional divorce. Via TMZ reports: Actress Tasha Smith will think twice about getting hitched again — the now ex-husband she calls a glorified assistant just scored a fat settlement in their divorce. According to the court docs … the “Why Did I Get Married?” star has been ordered to hand over nearly $7k/month in spousal support to Keith Douglas. That’s on top of the $50k she already shelled out to him in December. As we previously reported … their rocky marriage took some crazy twists, including mutual restraining orders, and both saying they feared for their lives. The settlement wasn’t a total loss for Tasha … Keith had to give back her Mercedes. Unfortunately her friends all drive Porsches, but she’ll make amends. The film follows a Yonkers family whose lives go haywire when NYC’s Museum of Modern Art displays photos of them in an exhibit, turning them in celebrities, Deadline reports . Matt Damon Eyes Showtime Climate Change Doc The actor will take part in an eight-part documentary series for Showtime from James Cameron and Jerry Weintraub. The program will show the human element of climate change. Damon is an active environmentalist and philanthropist. Damon’s upcoming movies include HBO’s   Behind the Candelabra , which stars Michael Douglas as Liberace; and Promised Land , directed by Gus Van Sant, THR reports . Rachel Weisz Eyes David Cronenberg’s Maps to the Stars Robert Pattinson, who starred in Cosmopolis , and Cronenberg regular Viggo Mortensen have already been linked to the Hollywood-set film that also has Rachel Weisz coming on as a possibility. David Yates Eyes Warner Bros.’ Tarzan The director of the last four Harry Potter films is likely on board to direct a big-screen version of Edgar Rice Burrough’s Tarzan at Warner Bros. The project has been in development with producer Jerry Weintraub for years, Vulture reports . Dubai International Film Festival to Screen Cloud Atlas , The Master Roger Michell’s Hyde Park on Hudson starring Bill Murray, Dustin Hoffman’s directorial debut Quartet  with Maggie Smith and Wayne Blair’s musical drama  The Sapphires also joins the lineup at the Gulf State festival. The ninth edition of the Dubai International Film Festival runs Dec. 9 – 16, THR reports .

Starlet Trailer Hints At An Unlikely Bond, Starring Dree Hemingway

Dree Hemingway and Besedka Johnson star in this SXSW Film Festival special jury prize winner set to hit theaters November 9th. Hemingway (great-granddaughter of Ernest and daughter of Mariel) plays a young aspiring actress who befriends an elderly widow set against the backdrop of Southern California’s San Fernando Valley. The trailer opens with a Yard Sale where Hemingway buys a thermos. She takes the purchase home and discovers a wad of cash inside… Now what does she do? The trailer hints at strains with similarly aged friends as Jane’s (Hemingway) bond with her elderly friend grows. Official log line below : Starlet explores the unlikely friendship between 21 year-old aspiring actress Jane (Dree Hemingway) and elderly widow Sadie (Besedka Johnson) after their worlds collide in California’s San Fernando Valley.  Jane spends her time getting high with her dysfunctional roommates and taking care of her chihuahua Starlet, while Sadie passes her days alone, tending to her garden.  After a confrontation at a yard sale, Jane finds something unexpected in a relic from Sadie’s past. By Jayson Rodriguez, with reporting Josh Horowitz 50 Cent Photo: Jordan Strauss/ Getty Images Last year was quiet on the music front for 50 Cent but the G-Unit superstar is looking to change that in 2011. “I’m about 80 percent done with my new album,” he told MTV News over the weekend about his forthcoming LP, Black Magic. “It should be out this summer, I’m working on that. It’s exciting; we’ll see how everyone responds to that.” For the collection, 50 is expected to hearken back to his early projects, like the material from his debut, Get Rich or Die Tryin’. “The content had extreme aggression,” he said of his first album. “What I offered on Get Rich or Die Tryin’ was all the dysfunctional behavior I had seen all my entire life and I became the album to the general public.” The rapper’s most recent project, 2009’s Before I Self Destruct, became the lowest-selling album in the self-described “SoundScan Killer” ‘s career. Yet, as always, he remained relevant in part because of his business savvy, pushing Lloyd Banks’ The Hunger for More 2 on the revamped G-Unit Records. Banks, who worked with 50’s former music rival Kanye West on HFM2, suggested late last year that the G-Unit head and West could unite soon on record. And although there aren’t any set plans for a collaboration, 50 has been following West’s moves, in particular, his joint album with Jay-Z , slated to arrive this year. “It should be interesting,” Fif said of Watch the Throne. “When you’ve got two artists, it’s a good combination, good collaborations should come out of it.” Do you think 50 should revisit his “Get Rich” sound on his next album? She may be gone from Dancing with the Stars, but Kate Gosselin isn’t done dancing around legal crusades waged by her loser ex-husband Jon. The royal douchebag will be pressing on with his “absentee mom” argument in custody court, in spite of the fact that Kate got booted Tuesday. Why? Because if it’s not DWTS , it’ll be something else. Jon’s lawyer, Anthony List, says Dancing with the Stars “is the tip of the iceberg, as surely there will be many other projects to take its place.” The attorney notes that Kate has already signed on for two new shows, both on TLC, and scoffs that “She’s always promoting something .” “Most of the time it’s herself.” Kate got smoked on Dancing with the Stars. Will the reality mom soon be subject to a similar fate in court, thanks to new custody filings made by her douchebag ex? Jon is asking the court for primary custody of their eight kids … which is kind of a joke, as regardless of his complaints about Kate, what does he possibly have to offer them? Unemployment and nights out with mediocre girls? But therein lies the rub. Jon also wants child support from Kate, who is hands down becoming the breadwinner in the dysfunctional family. Whether he gets it is another story, as there are a whole host of reasons he should not, but Jonny seems determined to press on for now. Who do you think should have custody of the Gosselin kids?
