Counting On Season 3 Episode 6 Recap: Welcome … to the Main Event!

Tuesday on  Counting On Season 3 Episode 6 , Ben Seewald joined forces with NFL stars to give back to the Northwest Arkansas community. Also, Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo planned a trip to New York City. Come along as THG recaps all of these key events and more. Watch Jill & Jessa Counting On Season 3 Episode 6 Online “Sports can be a great avenue to invest in kid’s lives,” Ben told producers in the not-so-articulate fashion fans have come to know and love. Ben is usually a source of boundless optimism for wife Jessa and the other people in his life, but last night’s episode featured a rare moment of self-doubt for the 21-year-old. “If the camp doesn’t go well, I’m going to feel pretty bad,” Ben said at one point. Fortunately, with the help of former Steelers and Colts linebacker Steve Conley, the camp went off without a hitch. Crisis of self-confidence averted! Elsewhere in the episode, Jinger Duggar prepared for a trip to the East Coast with fiance Jeremy Vuolo. Of course, this was before Jinger and Jeremy got engaged .  So yes, Jinger traveled with a whole crew of chaperones (Michelle, Jessa, Ben, and even Baby Spurgeon). The Duggar devoted may have already known this as the trip that prompted Jinger’s hair crisis . Jinger Duggar: Curling Iron Crisis! More importantly, however, it’s also the trip on which Jeremy popped the question. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see that moment in last night’s installment. But that doesn’t mean the episode ended on a cliffhanger. If you watch Jill & Jessa Counting On online , you are keenly aware that Jeremy has already made his intentions very clear to Jim Bob Duggar and the rest of Jinger’s family. Just to drive the point home, he made certain to point out that he was packing the ring that he and JB had picked out for the occasion. “I’ve got a small surprise for Jinger you could say,” Jeremy told the cameras with a smirk. Ben told the cameras, “Jinger has no idea what’s coming for her!” We think she might have an inkling Ben. Y’all haven’t exactly been subtle in keeping in plotting this little surprise. In other contrived plot lines, Jana Duggar set out to redecorate the guesthouse in preparation for Jill and Derick returning from abroad. Hey, other people have to do something while the Jinger and Jeremy show marches on, right? It’s reaching the point that Jinger’s siblings might be more eager for her to just go ahead and get married than she is. On second thought, no one is more eager for Jinger’s wedding than Jinger is. Amber Portwood SLAMS Gary Shirley: I’m a WAY Better Parent!

On last night’s episode of Teen Mom OG , Gary Shirley insinuated that Amber Portwood isn’t exactly the most competent and responsible mother on the planet. In fact, he suggested she’s incapable of simple tasks like ensuring that 7-year-old Leah brushes her teeth. In what must have been an embarrassing scene for Amber to watch, the episode featured Gary explaining to Leah that she has to promise to be diligent about her oral hygiene, as her mother isn’t up to the task of enforcing rules: “It’s hard for me to get her to do those kinds of things,” Shirley said of Amber. “I remind her and she gets mad at me. I need you to be the big girl and brush your teeth.” He later explained to his wife: “It’s very important for her routine to stay consistent and not to stop. Obviously I would love to have Leah with me every single day no matter what, but under these circumstances things don’t work that way. “I just want to make sure Leah’s safe, Leah is taken care of and Leah’s teeth are getting brushed.” And the shade throwing didn’t stop there. Gary also expressed his frustration over the fact that Amber would still be unable to take Leah to school, even though her new home would mean a considerably shorter commute. For obvious reasons, Amber didn’t take too kindly to this criticism. Seemingly to underscore the argument that Amber and Matt Baier are more concerned with living the posh life than with raising Leah, we were treated to yet another scene of the controversial couple splurging in a local furniture store. Amber clapped back on Twitter after receiving come criticism from fans. Unfortunately, her response doesn’t make a whole hell of a lot of sense: “It’s just ridiculous to think I’m incapable of bringing my child to school,” she tweeted. “I will fight to be the mother I deserve to be.” Come again? Seems like she should be more concerned about being the sort of mother that Leah deserves, don’t ya think? But what do we know? The weird thing about this situation is that Amber, Gary and Matt were all getting along just last week. We’re guessing that’s officially a thing of the past. Hey, it was fun while it lasted! Jinger Duggar Flips Out Over Hair Crisis Moments Before Meeting Jeremy Vuolo!

If you watch Counting On online , you know that though they still live in separate states, Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo are pretty much on each other’s minds 24/7. There’s been talk of Jinger and Jeremy moving too fast , but these two clearly have no intention of slowing down. Jinger and Jeremy got engaged after just a few weeks of dating, and as this preview from tonight’s episode of Counting On reminds us, the couple is very eager to live together as man and wife:  Jinger Duggar: Curling Iron Crisis! The scene shows Jinger preparing to fly to Laredo to visit Jeremy in Texas – with her Michelle, Jessa, Ben Seewald and baby Spurgeon all along to chaperone, of course, because that’s how the Duggars roll. “Today I’m going to see Jeremy,” Jinger excitedly tells the camera. “It’s a super early morning and I’m flying from [Arkansas] and Jeremy’s coming from Laredo to meet me in Dallas at the airport and we’re all going to fly to Philly.” Though it’s an early morning flight, Jinger appears to be out of bed hours ahead of time, giddily telling Ben that she slept for “a very short time.” Speaking to the camera, Jinger admits: “It’s kind of hard to sleep when you know that within so many hours you’re going to be together again, so every time I go to see Jeremy it seems like I get very little sleep the night before.”  Jinger decides to make productive use of her sleepless hours by making her hair do that horrendous, teased ’80s thing that the Duggar women seem to love. Unfortunately, she forgot about Murphy’s Law of Hair: Anytime you’re about to see someone whom you hope to see naked, your hair will act like total dumbass and messing with it will only make things worse. “I don’t like this hair,” Jinger complains. “I grabbed the wrong curling iron, guys. What do I do? These curls look like, super tiny.” It’s not hard to see why she’s upset. Anyone familiar with the Bible will remember the passage in which Satan appears before a group of ringlet-haired harlots and informs them that tiny curls are totes his thing. Fortunately, Jinger retains her sense of humor throughout the ordeal. When Michelle Duggar asks if there’s anything she can do to help, Jinger jokes: “Uh, cry with me. No, I’m kidding. I’m not going to be so bad. I know he won’t even pay attention to my hair. It’s a girl thing.”  Sure she briefly considers missing her flight so that she can continue to fuss with her hair, but eventually cooler heads prevail. Rosie O’Donnell Responds to Latest Donald Trump Debate Diss

For someone who really dislikes woman, Donald Trump sure gave a quality platform to a few of them during the first Presidential debate on Monday night and then again on Tuesday morning. After Hillary Clinton brought up former Miss Universe Alicia Machado, for example, Trump appeared on Fox and Friends today and slammed the beauty pageant winner for how much weight she gained. Really, this happened: Donald Trump on Alicia Machado: A HUGE Problem! Then there’s Katy Perry, who has gone ahead and gotten naked in honor of Voter Registration Day . But Trump once more gave the biggest platform to ongoing nemesis Rosie O’Donnell, responding to charges of sexism at the debate by referring back to his feud with the talk show host and saying she deserved all the vitriol that has come her way. “Hillary is hitting me with tremendous commercials,” the former Celebrity Apprentice host whined, adding: “Some of it said in entertainment, some of it said by somebody who’s been very vicious to me, Rosie O’Donnell. “I said very tough things to her and I think everybody would agree that she deserves it and nobody feels sorry for her.” Through the nauseating years, Trump has described O’Donnell as “dumb loser,” “disgusting,” and “a slob,” who has a “fat, ugly face.” Heck, he called her a “fat pig” in August of last year during a Republican debate: Donald Trump Slams Rosie O’Donnell as “Fat Pig”: WATCH! The obsession is pretty hilarious at this point. So, how did Rosie response to The Donald making her a national talking point once again? With a very simple Tweet. “HE WILL NEVER BE PRESIDENT …” O’Donnell wrote in response to his latest takedown. About 15 minutes later, she branded Trump an “orange anus” in this equally awesome message, which linked to the 2006 segment on The View in which she originally slammed Trump. “the 5 mins orange anus can’t seem to get over — tell the truth – shame the donald #ImWithHer,” Rosie wrote. Speaking of being “with her,” Madonna then came out and made it clear that she stands firmly with her former League of Their Own co-star. We’re loving this message sent by The Material Girl: And Madonna wasn’t the only person on Twitter to be taken aback by Trump revisiting his hated of Rosie O’Donnell. Consider these examples: How amazing will it be if Donald Trump’s disdain for Rosie O’Donnell actually costs him the election? There are approximately 9,876,984 other things he has said and done that ought to cost him the election, but hey. We’ll take whatever we can get. And the Winner is? Steven Avery: ENGAGED to Lynn Hartman!

Regardless of your feeling on the man’s guilt or innocence, if you watched the incendiary Netflix documentary series Making a Murderer you know that Steven Avery hasn’t led the easiest life. The 54-year-old Wisconsin native was falsely convicted of rape and attempted murder in 1985 at the age of 22. He served 18 years of a 32-year sentence before being exonerated on the strength of new DNA evidence. He had been free for just two years when he was arrested for the murder of photographer Teresa Halbach. Avery was convicted of murder in 2007, and he’s been serving time at Waupun Correctional Institute ever since. Many believe that Avery was framed by vengeful authorities who were humiliated by his exoneration and stood to suffer further embarrassment if his lawsuit against the Manitowoc County Police Department went to court. Avery’s first wife divorced him during his first stretch in prison. His fiancee at the time he was arrested for the Halbach murder left him after his conviction. There had not been much to smile about in Avery’s life, but these days, he has two bright spots on the horizon. For one thing, the documentary about his trial has attracted the interest of a new attorney, Kathleen Zellner, who is currently at work on Avery’s wrongful conviction case. On top of the hope that he’ll soon be exonerated a second time, Avery is once again engaged, this time to Las Vegas legal secretary Lynn Hartman. Zellner confirmed the engagement in a press release issued this morning: “Steven Avery’s engagement to Lynn is one bright spot in an otherwise unbelievably tragic and unfair life story,” Zellner wrote. “Cheers to both of them.” Avery himself hinted at the engagement during a recent phone interview with the Daily Mail : “She’s going to be my future wife. We’ll be laughing forever,” he said of Hartman. “I’m happy. She treats me decent, she loves me. She’s kind of spoiling me right now. I just want to be happy and enjoy my life. I think I did enough time.” Avery filed an appeal for a re-trial back in January, and these days, it’s looking as though he has ample cause to be optimistic. According to a judge’s order, Avery’s nephew, Brendan Dassey, will be released from prison  after serving nearly a decade behind bars. Dassey was convicted of being an accomplice in Halbach’s murder back in 2007. Video of his coerced confession is often cited by Making a Murderer fans as the most glaring evidence of police corruption in the investigation. It may be quite some time until a verdict is reached in Avery’s new trial. But if things go his way in court, he’ll have at least one person eagerly waiting for him at the prison gates.

Jim Carrey SLAMS Cathriona White’s Estranged Husband: What Did He Say?

Jim Carrey has fired back against accusations that he gave his late ex-girlfriend sexually transmitted diseases and supplied her with drugs that led to her suicide. Yes, Carrey has really been accused of such things. Earlier this week, Mark Burton filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Carrey. Burton was the estranged husband of Cathriona White, Carrey’s longtime, on-again/off-again girlfriend who killed herself in September of 2015. She left a note at the time that apologized to Carrey for letting him down and which admitted life without the actor had grown too difficult for her. In new legal documents, Burton makes the claim that the drugs White used to kill herself were supplied to her by Carrey. He alleges that the Ambien, Propranolol and Percocet that were found in White’s system were prescribed to Arthur King, an alias often used by Carrey. Burton’s lawsuit alleges Carrey had an “obsession with controlling and manipulating White,” along with “the ability to monitor surveillance cameras on a home White often stayed at and was able, by design, to view the residence remotely to keep track of White’s comings and goings.” In response to these heinous charges, Carrey issued a statement that implied Burton was clearly looking for a financial settlement. But one would not be forthcoming. “What a terrible shame,” Carrey said. “It would be easy for me to get in a back room with this man’s lawyer and make this go away, but there are some moments in life when you have to stand up and defend your honor against the evil in this world. “I will not tolerate this heartless attempt to exploit me or the woman I loved. Cat’s troubles were born long before I met her and sadly her tragic end was beyond anyone’s control. “I really hope that some day soon people will stop trying to profit from this and let her rest in peace.” Burton, meanwhile, has gone ahead and amended his wrongful death suit against Carrey  to include the stunning new claim against celebrity. Burton says Carrey and White had a text conversation in February 2013 wherein she told him she thought she had contracted multiple STDs. Herpes Type I, Herpes Type 2 and Gonorrhea, to be specific. He goes on to allege that Carrey convinced White to keep these diseases a secret. Burton claims this secret contributed to White’s fragile state of mind at the time she committed suicide, writing in his lawsuit that White referred to herself as “damaged goods.” In reply to this new set of assertions, Carrey’s attorney explained to TMZ that Burton and White had a “sham marriage” that only existed to help him “evade immigration laws.” The lawyer goes on to say White reached out to Carrey in 2014 and begged him to get back together, not exactly the move one would make if one held a grudge against an ex for giving her STDs. Carrey’s legal team says this is nothing but a “shakedown lawsuit.” What does Carrey say? In a new statement, he doesn’t mince words or waste words, simply declaring: “Is this the way a ‘husband’ honors the memory of his ‘wife?’ The real disease here is greed, shameful greed.” Carrey’s side has made it very clear that Jim has no intention of settling with Burton.

Keith Lamont Scott: Police Shooting Video Released to Public

On September 20, Charlotte, North Carolina resident Keith Lamont Scott was shot four times by police officer Brentley Vinson. Scott, a father of seven, later died of his injuries. He was 43 years old. Now, new footage showing the minutes directly before and after the shooting has been obtained and released by NBC News. Viewers should be warned that the footage is disturbing: Keith Lamont Scott Shooting Footage The voice on the video is that of Scott’s wife, Rakeyia. She can be heard repeatedly pleading with officers to not shoot. When police instruct Lamont to drop his weapon, Rakeyia informs that her husband is unarmed: “He doesn’t have a weapon, he has a TBI [traumatic brain injury], he’s not going to do anything to you guys, he just took his medicine.” A police spokesperson says Scott was holding an object that appeared to be a gun, which can be seen near his feet in photos taken after the shooting. In the days since the shooting, Charlotte has erupted in protests and riots, which have sadly resulted in more gun violence. Governor Pat McCrory has declared a state of emergency, and ordered the deployment of the Charlotte National Guard. This morning, a man named Rayquan Borum was charged with shooting a protester. Earlier this week, Scott’s family issued a statement to protesters, reading: “As a family, we respect the rights of those who wish to protest, but we ask that people protest peacefully.” “Please do not hurt people or members of law enforcement, damage property or take things that do not belong to you in the name of protesting.” Today’s developments come on the heels of news that Tulsa, Oklahoma police officer Betty Shelby has been charged with first degree manslaughter . Shelby was the officer under scrutiny for shooting Terrenece Crutcher, another unarmed black man, last week. The problem of police violence against people of color in America has drawn global attention in recent months. Spurred by San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s refusal to stand for the national anthem before a preseason NFL game, players across the league have begun using their platform to protest the violence and demand action. Earlier today, Charlotte mayor Jennifer Roberts announced that there were no plans to release the video of Scott’s shooting, as she believed doing so would affect the integrity of an ongoing police investigation. “When you are still gathering eyewitness accounts, they are still talking to folks,” Roberts said in a press conference. “If you have already seen something on the Internet, it can cloud your memory, it can alter what you think you saw.” She added: “We want eyewitnesses to tell us without being led or having their memory changed by something they heard or saw.” We’ll have further updates on this story as more information becomes available.

Celebrities Read More Mean Tweets: Watch! Laugh!

The Internet can be so cruel. But it can also provide us with so many laughs as a result. Thanks to such stars as Ryan Gosling, Hugh Grant and Kate Hudson, that is. These celebrities took part on Wednesday night in the 10th edition of Celebrities Read Mean Tweets. The name of the segment says it all, with famous people simply reading insults about themselves on Twitter… and cracking both themselves and viewers up in the process. “Watching Hugh Grant and his stutteringly pathetic 'charm' is about as appealing to me as closing my scrotum in a DVD case,” read Grant himself, for example, while Hudson got a kick out of: “Kate Hudson is a dead eyed trash bag that smells like low tide.” Paul Rudd actually gave credit to the person who wrote the following: Paul Rudd is the most boring vanilla dude. You know he just sits at home with his wife having a bland spaghetti dinner talking about his day.” Asked another Twitter user: “Why does Ryan Gosling always look like he's trying to squeeze a fart out without making any noise?” And Gosling actually provided an answer. “Has Zac Efron ever been in a film where he didn't play a total douche?” the former High School Musical star read. “I've never seen one of his films, I'm just judging by his face.” Watch the video below to see more stars laughing at themselves and at these losers who bash them online.
