A special prosecutor in the alleged cover-up case of three Chicago officers involving in the 2014 fatal shooting of Laquan McDonald moved Thursday to remove the judge assigned to the case.
Latest Legal Battle Between One Time Couple NBA star Gilbert Arenas’ battle with his baby mama – who he sued over alleged lies about him giving her an STD – is turning nasty. A Los Angeles judge has issued a bench warrant for Laura Govan after she didn’t turn up for a hearing on the suit yet again, BOSSIP has learned. Arenas sued Govan – with whom he shares 4 kids – for defamation, accusing her of concocting a scheme to humiliate him in the press – and spreading lies about him giving her STD’s. He explained Govan was bitter after he broke up with her. She decided to write an email to him with the line, “When I left you it was because I couldn’t take the STDs.” However, he claimed it was lies and she leaked it to the media, according to court docs. The judge awarded Arenas a default judgment in the amount of $110,100 and ordered Govan to pay up to her baby daddy Back in January, Arenas filed docs in the case demanding Govan produce her financial information and records for him to examine the amount of assets and property in her possession in order to collect on the $110,000 he is owed. Then recently, the exes were to appear in court, where Arenas was supposed to finally inspect Govan’s financial records because of the judgment he won against her. The hearing was set for June 23rd but once again Govan blew off the hearing and did not show up, according to court records. As a result, the judge issued a bench warrant and ordered bond in the amount of $5,000. The hearing was continued until next month and Arena’s lawyers were instructed to inform Govan to show up or face more consequences by the judge.

It looks like disgraced Dance Moms star Abby Lee Miller will be a free woman for a little while longer. Last month, Miller was sentenced to a year in prison on fraud charges. In the weeks since the verdict was delivered, the controversial television personality has lashed out against the judge, played dumb about her crimes , and pled innocence as a “nice Catholic girl from Pittsburgh.” (Are people from Pittsburgh known for their inability to commit bankruptcy fraud? We’re not really sure what she was going for with that one.) Anyway, none of that has done Miller any good in terms of getting out of serving her time. Eventually, the widely despised 50-year-old will be going to prison. But that doesn’t mean she can’t delay the inevitable for a few weeks. According to Radar Online, Miller was originally supposed to report to prison on June 30. Now, she’s scheduled to begin serving her sentence on July 12. No reason was given for the delay, and Miller has been uncharacteristically quiet about the change. She may be legally prohibited from discussing the specifics of the delay, but that hasn’t stopped her from hinting at the court’s reasoning on social media. Miller has posted a series of photos on her Instagram page that seem to hint at some sort of knee ailment. The pic below shows an x-ray that seems to indicate Miller is missing caritlage in her right knee: “Bone on Bone! X-ray Right knee – That kinda hurts a little OUCH! #marinadelrey #discsportsandspinecenter #aldcalways #aldcla #ALDC,” Miller captioned the pic. Obviously, Miller won’t be able to undergo and recover from knee surgery in less than two weeks’ time. What’s more likely is that her lawyers convinced the judge to delay the start of her sentence so that she can undergo further medical evaluation. That would explain why Miller is so keen on playing up her injuries on social media. If she’s able to convince the court that she requires surgery, she may be able to push her sentencing back several months. Perhaps Miller even hoping that given more time, her lawyers will be able to successfully appeal her conviction. It’s a long shot, but we suppose we can’t blame her. At the end of the day, however, her latest ploy seems unlikely to change anything. Miller is going to prison – it’s just a matter of when.

The singer filed court docs stating he has less than $500 in his bank accounts and owns no property or cars. In 2015, the lawyer James J. Gangitano sued Kingston, accusing him of refusing to pay up $12,500 worth of legal work he did in defending him. After filing suit, the lawyer reached a deal with Kingston in early 2016. He agreed to pay $20,000 in installments between April 2016 and January 2017. However, Gangitano headed back to court months later accusing him of breaching the deal by failing to make the payments. Under the agreement, if Kingston missed a payment, the entire amount of $14,500 would be due immediately. They demanded that the judge order Kingston to pay up due to his breach. Earlier this year, the judge came back with his decision and sided with the lawyers, awarding them $14,500 in damages with interest until paid off. Kingston was also ordered to fill out a financial sheet which listed his assets and property in the hopes the firm can use the info to collect on the debt. For his February/March bank statement, his Bank of America account began the month with $18.96 but ended the month with $6.96. His Chase bank accounts started with $370.68 and $207.63 but ended with (negative) $19.65 and $7.22. One of the only deposits added to his account was from a Marleen Turner for $2,000 and his account was charged multiple insufficient funds fees.

Phaedra Parks’ Divorce From Apollo Nida Thrown Out Looks like Phaedra may have jumped the gun a bit when she declared her divorce dead and gone — and Apollo may have rushed into a new engagement . According to TMZ , the judge in Phaedra’s divorce trial looked over a few things and ruled that the marriage should actually still stand at this point. The judge said that the divorce proceeding itself wasn’t actually fair to Apollo . Apparently, Apollo was led to believe that he would be able to attend court dates for the divorce from prison, which was never a possibility in the first place. Apparently, Apollo was also not notified about the final hearing, nor was he served with documents to let him know that the divorce was finalized. To top it all off, the judge said he was troubled several things within the divorce paperwork as well, like Phaedra “intentionally misspelling the parties’ names.” Hmmmm, do you think that Phaedra sabotaged her divorce on purpose ?
