Sherri Shepherd’s Ex-Husband Lamar Sally To Star In New Reality Show While Sherri Shepherd battles against paying ex-husband Lamar Sally $4600 a month in child support for the baby they had via surrogate with a donated egg , Lamar Sally is busy filming a reality show to “clear his name” as a gold-digging opportunist. Sherri’s ex says he just wants to make sure he counters all the claims that Sherri and her celebrity friends have made about him and his intentions while parenting his son: Via Radar : Sally revealed during an interview with Radar that he is currently filming a reality show about his life as a single dad and the struggles he’s had to face in the wake of his divorce for Shepherd. “At the end of the day, I want my son to be proud of me,” he told Radar. “There are so many lies out there about me being a gold digger, me tricking Sherri into doing this and it’s just not true.” Because of all that has happened, Sally wants to share his story. “So it’s time for me to stand up and say, ‘No, this is the truth. This what really happened,’” he explained. “She has a lot more money than me,” Sally continued. “She has celebrities that have talked about me. It’s ok, because I want my son to be proud of me to say, ‘Hey, against all odds, my father stood up for me, and whatever happens, this is what he did.’” Lamar insists this isn’t just an opportunity for him to bash Sherri or make even more money off of the situation he’s in, but to champion single fathers and highlight their struggle: “We’re out there and we are raising our kids on our own,” Sally said. “We’re not trying to put down the mom, but to shine some light on what we’re doing.” “Unfortunately we are caught: whatever the ex-wife or baby mama says about you, you take it and just be the best father that you can,” he said. “Someone has to stand up for the dad and to have a voice and say, ‘Maybe there are two sides to this story.’” Sally and his costars plan to act as that voice. “We aren’t the dads that run out on their family,” he said. “No, we are dads that are in there every day grinding it out, being hands-on dads, working and we love our kids. We aren’t going to have this reputation of a weekend or part-time dad. No we are there every single day.” Interesting. At best, Sherri Shepherd’s child custody and support case has been complicated. Sherri and her ex-husband, Lamar Sally, have been battling over custody and financial responsibility for their baby born via surrogate last year. What makes this case unique though is that once Lamar and Sherri split, Sherri went back-and-forth over whether or not she wanted anything to do with their surrogate baby. Eventually, she decided she did not want any responsibility for the child. But, in April, a judge declared Sherri Shepherd the legal mother of the baby. Now, the former View co-host has to live up to that obligation by paying $4,100 per month in child support. The baby is currently 10 months-old. Sherri will have to pay $4,1000 a month until Lamar Jr. is 13-years-old. When the child turns 13, the payment will increase to $4,6000 a month. The case definitely didn’t pan out the way Shepherd had wished. But she is still able to move forward with a fraud claim against her estranged husband. She claims the request for child support is fraudulent. If the courts agree, she will no longer be required to pay support. Shepherd is also asking that the remaining embryos she shared with Lamar be destroyed. Lamar is “undecided” about whether or not to keep the embryos. However, the agreement stands that if any of the remaining embryos are brought to term, Shepherd has no financial responsibility.

Apparently the former ‘The View’ host has been so busy running around with new boo Johnny Gill and practicing for her Broadway role that she’s simply forgotten to sign the birth order for her recently delivered surrogate son…or even go to visit him. Via PageSix : When it comes to their child born via surrogate, Sherri Shepherd‘s estranged husband, Lamar Sally, wants the television personality to take responsibility. “I never thought in a million years she would turn her back on L.J. [the couple’s son born via surrogate],” Sally told People. The 44-year-old scriptwriter said the former couple agreed to use a surrogate with his sperm and a donor egg. He explained that all the forms were signed except for a birth order, which states who the intended parents are. “I didn’t think twice about it,” he said. In April, Sally said he was blindsided when she asked for a divorce. “This is six months into the pregnancy, and I’m just like, ‘Really?’ She said, ‘We’ll co-parent. We’ll work it out.’” The surrogate gave birth on Aug. 5, just three months after the couple filed for divorce, but the “Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella” star wasn’t present for the delivery. Sally claimed that Shepherd, 47, has made no contact with the baby and has taken him off of her insurance. “I think it’s the worst thing in the world for L.J. to look at his birth certificate at 16 and see it says ‘Mother unknown,’” he said. In July, Sally was drafting papers to prevent Shepherd from walking away without paying child support. The pretrial hearing is set for Oct. 2. Damn! Insiders say Sally is threatening to release the photos if Shepherd doesn’t agree to a divorce settlement that would have her making $10,000 in child support payments for a son that’s not biologically hers.
