Kylie Jenner Celebrates Instagram Milestone, Manages to Keep Clothing On

Kylie Jenner has a long way go to until she catches Taylor Swift. The singing sensation recently became the first human being to surpass 50 million Instagram followers , a feat she celebrated by posing online with her cat. But Jenner is now 80 percent of the way to this figure, sharing a new photo on her social media account in honor of her 40 millionth follower. “40 million followers???!!!!!!!!!! Wow. That’s a whole lot of people,” Jenner wrote as a caption to the above image. Then, in a bit of an ironic move, Kylie encouraged people to actually leave Instagram in order to see more pictures, writing: “I put up an exclusive @sashasamsonova shoot in honor of my dope ass fans only on TheKylieJenner.com and on my app.” Indeed: Kylie and her sisters have found a new way to make money on the World Wide Web. They still share pictures and videos on Instagram, but they charge users for full access to their new websites and affiliated apps. For awhile, Kylie was leading the way, surprising many by owning the most popular of these new creations kreations . But sources now say Kim Kardashian is making a comeback komeback and her app is poised to known Kylie from her throne.  Hence why Kylie is pushing her app on her Instagram page. If only these women had any actual talent and actually did anything aside from posing for photos, we could stop playing this mind-numbing game of Internet carousel. Alas. Peaceful Protesters Gather On Anniversary Of Mike Brown’s Death Today we remember Ferguson, MO teen Mike Brown who was gunned down by Officer Darren Wilson and shook the nation. Via Complex : On the anniversary of Michael Brown’s death, Ferguson, Mo. looks a little different today than it did a year ago. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the father of Brown, Michael Brown Sr., led a march in honor of his son, who died in a confrontation with St. Louis police officer Darren Wilson this weekend last year. In the 90 degree heat, children played in the streets, police officers handed out popsicles, and protesters took rides in state patrol ATVs. According to reporter Jack Witthaus, no one in the neighborhood could remember the last time a march had passed through. Michael Brown Sr. led the march, with about 100 people, from Canfield Green Apartments, where his son was shot, to Normandy High School, his son’s alma mater. When he died, 18-year-old Brown had just graduated from high school a few days before. The march started with a group prayer at the memorial site; Michael Brown Sr. has been organizing this and other events (like yesterday’s event to feed the homeless and tomorrow’s silent walk) through his family’s nonprofit. After the prayer, the group marched the five miles to Brown’s school, with Da Warehouse Warriors Youth Marching Machine leading the way. “It means a lot,” said the mom of two girls in the drumline. “This is a teaching moment to the kids to always stand up for something.” Has the world we lived in really changed since Mike Brown’s tragic and untimely murder? Mark McDaniel Defended By Daughter-in-Law: His Child Molester Past is Irrelevant!

Mark McDaniel, June Shannon’s child molester boyfriend and the center of major controversy, can count on his daughter-in-law in his corner if nothing else. To hear her tell it, just because he molested a little girl years ago – including June’s daughter Anna Shannon – doesn’t mean that he’s a bad person. Tell that to Anna and/or Sugar Bear and/or the State of Georgia. Peaches McDaniel tried defending her father-in-law on Facebook, adding in a defiant tone, “Peoples [sic] past are completely irrelevant to the present.” “if you are going to judge someone by their past, look at your own first,” Peaches adds. “Michaels [sic] dad is an amazing man, as well an amazing father.” McDaniel is a registered sex offender after serving 10 years in prison for allegedly (or not allegedly, actually) one of June’s daughters to have oral sex with him. June and husband Sugar Bear recently called it quits, after which she started dating McDaniel, who was her boyfriend from before he went to prison. For molesting one of her daughters. Did we mention that part? TLC canceled Here Comes Honey Boo Boo last week, announcing the reality show featuring June’s family and named after her little daughter won’t return. The young star herself was recently exposed to the molester. Shannon and Mark visited Peaches after she gave birth last month, which is when McDaniel was pictured with his hands on Honey Boo Boo’s back . Wonder how Sugar Bear feels about that revelation. Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and Family 1. Reality TV Family This family is way more famous than you are. It’s just unclear why, exactly. Mama June previously denied that she’s seen McDaniel since he was released from jail, but the photo evidence – and her split from Sugar Bear – tell a different story. Now she’s out of a marriage and a show, while her 20-year-old girl has to accept the fact that her mom is dating her molester and touching Honey Boo Boo. It’ll make you shiver if you think about it any more.

Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Martin: It’s Over!

The relationship between Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Martin has ended, according to E! News. The couple began dating in June, shortly after Lawrence’s breakup with Nicholas Hoult . They attracted instant media attention, and not only because both Martin and Lawrence are A-list names. Their age difference, coupled with the fact that Martin ” consciously uncoupled ” from his wife Gwyneth Paltrow just months before he began dating Lawrence left many surprised that the relationship lasted as long as it did. No cause has been given for the split, and considering how secretive both parties were during their relationship, we may never know what prompted them to go their separate ways. Sources say the 37-year-old Coldplay rocker supported the 24-year-old Oscar winner during the Jennifer Lawrence nude photo scandal that made headlines back in August. Lawrence had reportedly earned the approval of Martin’s ex and had even spent time with his two kids. Insiders claimed the couple was moving quickly and had even made plans to spend the holidays together. However, last week, video emerged showing Martin and Paltrow getting close during a dinner date , leading many to believe that Martin is still carrying on a romantic relationship with the mother of his children.  Both parties have yet to speak publicly about the split. In case you have somehow not heard, Taylor Swift’s new album is now available to download. And while fans rush over to iTunes (is there any doubt “1989” is poised to break every conceivable record?), many celebrities have already listened to Swift’s new record and have gone online to offer up their VERY positive assessment of it. Leading the way, of course, is Taylor’s bestie, Selena Gomez. The occasional Justin Bieber girlfriend posted the above collage of her and Swift on Instagram today, along with a heartfelt message for her close friend. “From hotel room album listening parties, kitchen dance floor album listening parties to driving on the pch, windows down album listening parties. -The best part is we were the only ones there,” Selena wrote, adding: “Each time. Yeah We Run This World!… Fist Lady Michelle Obama, Oprah, and Bey were amongst the top ranks on Forbes 100 Most Powerful Women List! Forbes released its annual 100 Most Powerful Women list, and of course, Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey and Beyoncé made the cut. These talented women came in at seven, 11 and 32, respectively. The list also named some very important women who don’t always get the proper spotlight — like CEO of Xerox Ursula Burns, who came in at 17, CEO of the Humanitarian Organization (CARE) Helene Gayle at 52, Executive Director of the United Nation’s World Food Programme Ertharin Cousin at 69, Malawian President Joyce Banda at 71, Nigerian Minister of Finance Ngozi Okonko-Iweala at 81 and Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf at 82. The list also saw rankings from Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Jennifer Lopez and Diane Von Furstenberg. German Chancellor Angela Merkel was named the most powerful woman in the world for the second year in a row. She’s known as the “Iron Lady” and is as a key player in rebuilding Europe’s failing economic structure. Kudos to all the ladies who make a tremendous difference in our world. Fiddy’s giving back again in a big way. The rapper/actor/businessman has already partnered with the World Food Program by donating portions of Street King’s revenues to help feed starving children in Africa and now, he’s taking things a step further. “Giving back to hungry children with every shot we sell is only part of the story. I’ve been fortunate enough to travel across Africa, and one thing I’ve learned is that it is filled with vibrant, young entrepreneurs who are eager to cultivate a sustainable business sector that will fuel growth for their future. That’s why I’m giving African entrepreneurs the chance to bring SK to their country,” 50 wrote in a statement. His aim? Partner with entrepreneurs across Africa to not only introduce Street King to a vibrant market, but help others grow their businesses as well. And with Africa leading the way with six of the world’s fastest growing economies, 50’s aims are not only admirable, but they’re good business as well. “I’ve had so much interest coming from Africa since I’ve launched SK. That’s why I’m opening up submissions to entrepreneurs across the continent to become distribution partners.” According to AllAfrica.com, 50 recently visited Kenya, where he spent time visiting schools across the nation. “Everyone thought that we would expand immediately to Europe or South America. But if you know SK, you know the vision has always been to support my roots in Africa.” This is the type of positive press Fiddy needs to get more of. By Rob Markman, with reporting by FLX Drumma Boy Photo: MTV News Behind the Beats: Drumma Boy Drumma Boy has already put on for everyone else, now the multi-platinum rap producer is just trying to put on for his hometown. The Memphis, Tennessee, beatmaker has delivered hits to Young Jeezy, Rick Ross , T.I. and Waka Flocka Flame, just to name a few. But on his latest mixtape, Welcome to My City 2, Drumma marches to the beat of his own drum — literally. ” Welcome to My City, first and foremost, is the unification process of Memphis. It’s like bringing the city together,” said Drumma, who raps as well as produces on the tape. The tape’s stand-out single, “Where I Come From,” features reggae star Junior Reid, and on it Drumma Boy aims to inspire those in his town to be the best they can be. “Only way we gonna get seen is if we keep on winnin’/ Only way we gonna get heard is if we keep on singin’,” he raps. It’s not that Memphis doesn’t have its share of stars. In the early 1990s, 8Ball and MJG put the Southern city on rap’s map, leading the way for Three 6 Mafia to have their infamous run. Now Yo Gotti, Don Trip , Zed Zilla and, of course, Drumma look to further cement the city’s legacy. “We’re really just showing and emphasizing the city of Memphis, showcasing the talent that’s in the city,” Drumma explained to Mixtape Daily of his mission. “Because a lot of the opportunities we’ve had, we’ve been overlooked or been the underdogs and really haven’t gotten that just due.” The time is now. Rihanna told us all about her crazy night at a strip club on Tuesday via her Twitter timeline and a series of racy Instagram pics. Well done, Internet! The star, 24, apparently jumped on stage at a strip club, where she danced next to female exotic dancers and showered them with dollar bills. Par for the course, right? This is how the night ended: Despite her wild antics, Rihanna isn’t worried about setting a bad example, reacting with defiance to controversy over her racy Coachella pics , then posting an even crazier set of Tweets and photos from the strip joint. American Idol Performance Review: Great Britain, Great Performances?

After traveling back to the 1960s for their first round of performances last night, the final five on American Idol traveled overseas. They covered a slew of British pop songs, with Joshua Ledet once again leading the way and an interesting race to the bottom unfolding. Who will be eliminated this week? Watch the second set of Idol covers from this week and then vote on the best… Hollie Cavanagh went all Leona Lewis on viewers, following up a version of “River Deep Mountain High” with this solid take on “Bleeding Love.” Hollie Cavanagh – “Bleeding Love” It was back to the guitar for Phillip Phillips for “Time of the Season.” Compare this performance with his rendition of ” The Letter ” now. Phillip Phillips – “Time of the Season” Skylar Laine struggled a bit with her opening song, but did she make up for it with “You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me? We think so. Skylar Laine – “You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me” Jessica Sanchez slowed it way down and told somebody out there: “You Are So Beautiful.” It was an impressive follow-up to ” Proud Mary .” Jessica Sanchez – “You Are So Beautiful” But nothing could match Joshua Ledet on this night. Was “To Love Somebody” his best audition to date? Decide for yourself.
