L os Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has been dedicated to improving the lives of youth and their families in his hometown of Akron, Ohio. Months after the one-year anniversary of the creation of his I Promise School for at-risk children, James has now announced that he will be adding transitional housing for the families of students that are facing financial hardships, CNN reported. LeBron James is adding safe housing to the school he founded in his hometown of Akron, Ohio, so students have a stable place to live while they get their education. https://t.co/g6rBgiweJH — CNN (@CNN) November 4, 2019 The LeBron James Family Foundation is teaming up with Graduate Hotels for the initiative. The company—which is known for the development of hand-crafted boutique hotels near colleges and universities throughout the country—will restore a residential building in the Highland Square community. The building—which is located minutes away from the I Promise School—is slated for completion by July 2020. James, who has utilized his platform to speak out on several social and political issues and has been a fierce advocate for the improvement of education, believes that the success of the students is dependent on having a solid foundation at home. “Initially, our work was focused on helping these kids earn an education. But we’ve found that it is impossible to help them learn if they are struggling to survive — if they are hungry, if they have no heat in the freezing winter, if they live in fear for their safety,” he told the news outlet. “We want this place to be their home where they feel safe, supported, and loved, knowing we are right there with them every step of the way as they get back on their feet.” Graduate Hotel CEO Ben Weprin is excited to team up with James and his foundation for this impactful project. “It’s humbling to see the change they are affecting on a daily basis and we’re honored to be a part of the journey,” he said. James has also been focused on fighting food insecurity. He joined forces with Walmart for a campaign to spread awareness about hunger in America and opened a pantry for underprivileged families at his I Promise School. In addition to their inability to remove lies and disinformation in political ads, the social media network is wrought with racism and bigotry according to current and former employees. A CNBC report states the Mark Zuckerberg ‘s company has now “apologized” for not policing a hateful culture toward Blacks, Hispanics, and Asian female employees. The blog was written by a group of people who are ostensibly part of each of the marginalized groups mentioned. “No one at Facebook, or anywhere, should have to put up with this behavior,” Bertie Thomson, Facebook vice president of corporate communications said in a statement. “We are sorry. It goes against everything that we stand for as a company. We’re listening and working hard to do better.” The blog purports that things at Facebook have gotten much worse since ex-employee Mark Luckie wrote the now-infamous note stating that the tech giant had a “Black people problem”. “Racism, discrimination, bias, and aggression do not come from the big moments,” the anonymous employees wrote. “It’s in the small actions that mount up over time and build into a culture where we are only meant to be seen as quotas, but never heard, never acknowledged, never recognized, and never accepted.” The blog writers appear to want to put their names on this indictment, but they fear that they would not be safe from corporate and colleague retribution. “We cannot afford to be vulnerable externally because Facebook has made us a vulnerable target internally,” the anonymous employees wrote. “The only thing we can hope for in this cathartic exercise is to influence change by sharing our stories and hope that no one else experiences the same discriminatory behaviors that we have.” Facebook, a place for bigots.

Tori Roloff Goes Instagram Silent, Fans Wonder: Has She Given Birth?!?

Tori Roloff has over one million followers on Instagram for a handful of reasons. She’s relatable, for starters. She often shares pictures of her adorable son, for another thing. And she also posts very often; whether she’s providing pregnancy updates, sending positive message out into the world or simply uploading cute family snapshots. It’s rare that a day goes by without fans hearing from this Little People, Big World star. But that’s the thing; Many days have now gone by. Tori has not shared anything new on her Instagram page since October 27, which is when she posted the following picture and wrote as a caption: My love of Disney continues. So fun taking Jackson to @disneyonice tonight! It’s becoming a tradition and we were so excited (and thankful because there’s no way I could have done it myself) that grandma was able to join us this time!! Thank you Disney! Classic Tori, you know? It’s very un classic Tori to go well over a week between status updates, however, which is why many fans are now wondering: Might she have given birth already?!? Tori and husband Zach — who posts less frequently, but who has also been social media silent since October 1 — are expecting a baby girl this month. It’s been our understanding that Tori isn’t due until close to Thanksgiving, but it’s very possibly she went into labor early and is now taking some well-deserved time by herself with her brand new addition. Please keep in mind: This is mere speculation — but it wouldn’t be all that early if Roloff really has had the baby already. We obviously just hope mother and newborn are doing okay if this hypothetsis proves to be accurate, Earlier this week, Amy Roloff accidentally revealed that Tori and Zach would be welcoming a dwarf , confirming will “have the same type of dwarfism as her dad Zachary and brother Jackson” in a since-deleted Facebook video. Tori, for her part, had been consistently keeping followers apprised of how she was doing and feeling. Which, again, is why we find this ongoing silence so noteworthy. “The last few days have really been a struggle for me. This last stage of pregnancy has hit me hard. I get so frustrated not being able to do things on my own,” Tori wrote about five weeks ago, adding at the time: “I carried 6 towels up the stairs this morning to do some laundry and have been winded ever since. I’ve never been good at asking for help and these days that’s all I ever do.” Like we said above: Tori is nothing if not relatable. We’re sure millions of pregnant women have felt this same way. Concluded Roloff in that post: I know this is a time to be selfish and slow down but it’s so hard to sit around while my husband works and my 2 year old wants attention. I constantly feel serious FOMO. I know it’s all worth it and I’m doing such an important job but I can’t wait to tie my shoes on my own again. Tried to control myself from panic attack but instead had hyperventilation when I was alone in my home and didn’t know who to call for help. I’ve been thinking probably in another dimension I already bye byed and this present version of me actually is not the same me. This is another dimension~  Depressive episode will always come back (especially the season changing, it’s too scary) and it’s a truth that I already accepted, don’t know when is the next time, and I believed the one I just overcame must not be the most serious one. Even just think about this makes me feel tired. But there’s nothing I can do. For a while there, it seemed like we were talking about Pilar Sanders at least once a week. Her  divorce  and subsequent custody battle with former multi-sport athlete and current commentator, Deion Sanders , was messy. From 2011 until 2017, the former couple publicly went back and forth from everything from their prenup to  allegations of abuse and infidelity, Deion called her mental health into question. Ultimately, he ended up suing her for defamation of character. She was ordered to pay him $2.2 million. The decision was later reversed.  And ultimately, she was granted custody of her children . It was a lot to watch it play out from afar, so I can’t imagine what it felt for her to live it. Last year, Sanders, 45, spoke to  The Shade Room ,  offering women advice on how to move on with your life after a messy breakup. She shared that “Life goes on and one monkey doesn’t stop the show regardless of how public or private the breakup is.” but she also announced that she was in relationship with Rap-A-Lot Record executive and former manager of Floyd Mayweather Jr.,  J. Prince, 55. While J. Prince is regarded as a  legend in the development of Southern rap , he made headlines most recently for discouraging Drake from responding to Pusha T’s diss track, “The Story of Adidon.” When she spoke to  The Shade Room  last year, Pilar didn’t go into any details about the origins of their relationship. She simply said at the time that she was “very, very happy.” Well apparently, the two have taken their boo-ship to the next level. Becca Kufrin Begs Trolls to Be Kind: Stop Ruining My Life!!

Even though Becca Kufrin knows how to throw some shade at her ex when the moment is right, she’s known for being a good, kind person. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about some very vocal Instagram trolls who harass public figures every single day. In a new, heartfelt post, Becca pleads with them all to be kinder and less cruel. “You don’t need me to remind you, but life can be rocky,” Becca’s post begins. “People can be harsh.” “In our current climate, the internet can often times be the biggest weapon against our soul,” she characterizes. Becca observes: “Social media has taken over and will only keep growing.” “Because of that, so will our insecurities, jealousie,s and hurdles we face as women,” she predicts. Becca writes: “And it’s the unfortunate truth that social media is linked to a significant increase in anxiety, depression, suicide, and body image issues.” “For two years I’ve been thrust into the public eye on a scale that I never imagined possible,” she points out. “Yes, this was my doing by entering reality TV,” Becca acknowledges. She adds: “But nothing could prepare me for the amount of constant commentary and opinions being thrown at me.” “This feedback not only includes criticism on my love life,” Becca details. “But on how I look, speak, dress, and apply (or don’t apply) my makeup.” “And, at times it’s downright hindering,” she admits. “I’ve had days where I didn’t want to leave bed because of the anxiety I felt on a social scale.” “And I’m not alone,” Becca observes. “I’ve had countless conversations with others.” She has spoken to people “who have felt inadequate because of someone with mean, type-happy fingers.” “Many of us feel like we are drowning,” Becca laments. “Because we have to live up to some unattainable social goal.” “Let’s change this,” she suggests. “Let’s all take a step back and maybe NOT type a rude comment.” Becca continues: “or hit “send” with demeaning words into someone’s DMs.” “Who are we to judge another person by the makeup she puts on, how white our teeth are, or if we forgot to wash our hair for six days straight?” she asks. “As women, we need to do a better job of building ALL humans up,” Becca proclaims. She continues: “Of using our voices to support one another no matter our education level, ethnicity, background, etc.” “Let’s focus on the positives of individuals and spread care,” Becca recommends. “Because if not,” she warns. “The pressures of being perfect, and anxieties when we aren’t, will only consume us.” “A gentle reminder that Instagram is not reality,” Becca emphasizes. “It does not define who we are to our core.” “It can only give a MINOR glimpse into our daily lives,” she reminds followers. “But what is said through social media can leave a lasting impact,” Becca states. “So spread a little kindness.” She concludes: “Tell a stranger how contagious her smile is in a recent photo, double tap a compliment, and remember to go easy on others and yourself.” This sounds like great advice for countless Instagram trolls and also for Garrett Yrigoyen . Duane Chapman Admits to Suicidal Impulses After Wife’s Passing

Last month, Duane Chapman honored his late wife with  a heartfelt birthday tribute . Beth would have been 52. But on the Dog’s Most Wanted season finale, Duane’s pain was even more fresh and raw. He even confessed to experiencing suicidal ideation out of his desire to join his beloved in death. “I’m so glad I had her the little time that I did,” Duane “Dog The Bounty Hunter” Chapman confessed to the cameras. His wife, Beth Chapman, had died after a lengthy battle with cancer, but Duane was not ready to let her go. “I’m only been alone as I showered and I had to run out of there without a towel,” he confessed. Duane said that he had done so “because I can’t be alone right now.” He explains that spending time alone with his thoughts leads to some pretty horrifying impulses. “That’s when I start thinking about things,” Duane confesses. “And I start to take a nap,” he adds, referring to another instance in which the reality of Beth’s passing strikes him. “And I reached over to touch something,” Duane describes. “And it was the freakin’ dog.” “I don’t realize yet psychologically that she’s gone and I’ll never ever see her,” Duane admits. He emphasizes that he hasn’t fully processed the loss, saying: “I don’t realize that.” “I just hope I don’t live very much longer without her,” Duane confessed. Oh no. “Because now she made the first step, she’s through the gate,” he says. “She’s paved the way for me.” This is where Duane reveals the exact form of his intrusive thoughts and harmful impulses. “I want to take a goddamn pain pill so bad,” Duane says. “I feel like if I did something to myself right now, and passed away, suicidal,” he adds. Duane continues: “I’d go up to heaven and be like ‘Hi honey,’ and would go, ‘you dumbass why did you do that?’ or would she go ‘wow, you’re here.'” The bounty hunter and reality star continues, clearly feeling conflicted between his love of life and his love for his departed wife. “So am I obligated to do that?” Duane asks, feeling hopeless. There is one piece of good news about his harrowing confession. Within the episode, a family friend reveals that they moved prescription pills to a place where he cannot easily find or access them. Suicidal ideation can be the result of clinical depression, but that is not the only instance in which it arises. Situational depression — that is, when a person has a “reason” to feel hopeless — can lead to suicidal impulses as a response to stress. While clinical depression is treated with long-term medication and therapy, situational depression can require the same treatments for a shorter time. In the mean time, the family friend did exactly the right thing by moving an immediate danger out of Duane’s reach. The good news is that this episode was filmed months ago, and Duane has had this time to cope. He has the support of family and friends, who can spend time with him and keep him occupied with thoughts beyond grief and loss. It is not uncommon for those who believe in some sort of afterlife to feel the urge to join their dearly departed loved one.
