Every once in a while you hear about a perfect casting decision. While somewhat rare, when the right actor is picked for the right part, it’s like magic. And when it comes to casting a 1970s prostitute at the height of the porn industry in Manhattan there is no better choice than Maggie Gyllenhaal. … read more
Here’s up-and-coming singer/model/hot nobody Pia Mia Perez coming out of the AOL building in New York, and I was about to get all jealous that she’ll visit their website, but I still can’t convince a single hottie to come tour mine. But then I remembered that their headquarters is in Manhattan, and mine is in my mom’s basement, so nevermind. Plus, it’s kind of hard to stay upset after checking out Pia’s leg show. I mean, yes, I’m still all hot and bothered, but for entirely different reasons now. Enjoy. » view all 22 photos Photos: WENN.com

Rapper Faces 40 Years In Prison If Convicted Brooklyn rapper Troy Ave was formally indicted Thursday for shooting up the VIP area at a TI concert last month. A grand jury decided there was enough evidence to formally charge Troy Ave, real name Roland Collins, with attempted murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon – all felonies. During a hearing Thursday in Manhattan Criminal Court, prosecutors presented a certificate of grand jury action, indicating that Collins was indicted. The case was also moved to Manhattan Supreme Court – the same venue where fellow Brooklyn rapper Bobby Shmurda is fighting gang conspiracy charges. If he’s convicted, Troy Ave could get up to 40 years in state prison on just the attempted murder charge. Cops released video of a bleeding Troy Ave shooting wildly at an unknown person backstage at the TI concert at Irving Plaza in Manhattan. Troy Ave did not appear at the hearing at Manhattan Criminal Court, but is due back in court July 7 for his arraignment. Earlier this month, he released a song from lockup proclaiming his innocence. We’ve reached out to Troy Ave’s lawyer, Scott Leemon, for comment.
Eliot Spitzer Was With Russian Call Girl At Hotel Before She Ended Up In Hospital Some folks never learn! Former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer is caught up in another scandal , this time involving a 25-year-old call girl named Svetlana Travis who returned to her native Russia within days of being hospitalized following an incident at the Plaza Hotel in NYC where she told hospital officials Spitzer attacked her . She has since recanted her statement via an email apologizing for the allegation. The email was released by Spitzer’s lawyer, Adam S. Kaufman, which said: “I just read the news, I’m so sorry. My report was all fake. You tried to save me.” Kaufman gave the Manhattan District Attorney a copy of the email. The former governor also released a statement saying that the 25-year-old was not his girlfriend. “The woman who initially made the allegation was not my girlfriend. Lis Smith was my girlfriend, and I had and have deep affection for Lis,” he said. Spitzer and his girlfriend, Lis Smith, 33, broke up in December. Damn… When will they learn?!?! Also, as far as this girl changing her tune — is anyone really surprised. We’ve watched enough ‘House of Cards’ to guess what happened there. And conveniently enough the girl is now back in Russia. I just found out that these pictures of Lily Aldridge looking red-hot are from outside The Huffington Post offices in New York, and up until now, I always thought that the idea of getting a super-hot lingerie model to show up at your website’s office was a total pipe dream. But if the Huffington Post can do it, maybe I can too. So what if they have a fancy Manhattan office and I’ve just got a corner of my mom’s basement surrounded by dirty laundry and old pizza boxes? I’m sure some model would love to come see where the magic happens. And by magic, I mean dick jokes and Instagram creeping. Call me, ladies! We’ll set up a full tour. Photos: WENN.com
Usher is in full fledged activist mode right now. After releasing his powerful police brutality video, “Chains” on TIDAL, he, Jay-Z and Harry Belafonte are continuing the conversation. This week, in Manhattan at the Kaufmann Concert Hall, journalist Soledad O’Brien moderated “Breaking the Chains” where the three artists discussed ways in which to combat police brutality and […]
Rapper Faces Assault Charges For Allegedly Attacking Masika Tucker Former Love & Hip Hop Hollywood star Yung Berg has been offered a deal in his assault case involving ex-girlfriend Masika Tucker. Prosecutors from the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office offered Berg the chance to plead guilty to harassment, which is a violation, not a crime, for his alleged assault on Tucker last year. Berg would also have to attend batterer’s intervention program in New York or Los Angeles. The rapper is currently facing assault, attempted assault and harassment charges for the alleged beat down. The NYPD arrested him last November for allegedly throttling Tucker in their hotel room after his credit card was declined. The reality show’s producers fired him days later. Berg’s lawyer Xavier Donaldson said he’d be interested in resolving the case, but only if prosecutors dropped the assault charges. Berg – aka Hitmaka – did not appear during Thursday’s brief hearing, but is due in court later this week. The judge also extended an order of protection between Berg and Tucker until February 2016.
Millionaire Leaves Small Fortune To Her Birds Why donate money to charity when you’ve got 32 birds requiring expensive organic bird food? A 69-year-old Manhattan entrepreneur didn’t have any kids of her own, but she had birds. So like any good parent, the 69-year-old wanted to make sure her birds were taken care of in the event of her passing. That’s why she left them $100,000 in her will with precise instructions on how to take care of her pets. Via NY Post: A late Manhattan entrepreneur who pioneered direct mailing with her “rich list” left $100,000 to her 32 cockatiels — with nitpicky instructions on how to care for the birds. Leslie Ann Mandel, who was married to Arthur Herzog, author of the sci-fi thriller “The Swarm,” named her stepson, Matthew Herzog, as trustee of the pet fund. Her will lovingly lists each of the birds — Wheetie, Port, Blackie, Zippy, Tara, Zara, Shasha, Pigeon, Victory, Alie, Zack 12, Dart, Cubby, Max, Baby, Ruthie, Pumpkin, Tattoo, Susie, Tracy, Margie, Sammy, Angel, Inky, Sara, Tundra, Tanteleah, Eva, Cody, Nicki, Avis and Dragon — and asks that the birds “continue to live in the aviary” in her $4 million East Hampton property. As an alternative, they can be moved to “a protected place of similar size and dimension, made of the same materials, without a cage, for the rest of their natural lives,” the will says. Mandel adds explicit instructions for their weekly maintenance. “It is my wish that the birds be fed and the building cleaned each Monday and Thursday and their food shall be purchased from Avi-Cakes, carrots, water and popcorn,” the will states. Avi-Cakes are a brand of natural birdfeed. A 20-pound bag costs $115. Almost as an afterthought, Mandel says the cockatiels should share the $100,000 trust with her rescue dog, Frosty, and her cat, Kiki. SMH. Facebook
