Kendra Sunderland Arrested for Masturbating Inside Oregon State Library, Filming 31-Minute Session

Kendra Sunderland, a 19-year old college dropout, was arrested on Tuesday for making like Kim Kardashian . Sort of. Only, instead of being pounded on camera by a D-List R&B star, Sunderland made a solo sex tape of herself masturbating. From inside the Oregon State University library. Kendra Sunderland has given new meaning to the Oregon State University mascot, the Beavers. According to The Oregonian, school officials learned of the video and confronted Sunderland about its existence. She admitted to filming the 31 minutes of footage (yes, 31 minutes!!!) last October while using a Webcam on her laptop. Sunderland, a former student at the university, was booked on a charge of public indecency and faces one year in jail and a fine of $6,250 if found guilty. It’s unclear whether or not she was paid for the lewd act, but Sunderland’s video had been posted for awhile on Pornhub before that adult website took it down. “I was surprised someone was in our library doing that,” Oregon State University student Shelby Wilson told KEZI. “I feel like it’s always packed. I don’t know how anyone could get away with it.” Seriously, Kendra Sunderland. How did you pull this off? Feel free to come by the THG offices someday and show us. 17 Sexy Fails: That’s Just WRONG 1. Toilet Paper = SO SEDUCTIVE Nothing will get you fired up than a cute girl posing on the throne with a roll of two-ply.

In Young Freak News: College Student Arrested After Filming Freaky Flick Inside Campus Library

Oregon Student Arrested For Making Adult Film In Campus Library This girl must be quiet as a mouse while she’s getting it popping. Via MailOnline : A porn video that a former student made in the stacks of the Oregon State University library is getting university administrators hot under the collar. Kendra Sunderland, 19, became the talk of campus when she posted a video on PornHub that showed her stripping out of her top and touching herself for 31 minutes in the crowded Valley Library in Corvallis, Oregon. The clip became a sensation on campus – passed around among students on social media. It was viewed more than 260,000 times in just a few days before PornHub took it down, KEZI-TV reports. This week, the Oregon State Police arrested Sunderland on a charge of public indecency. She was cited and released. Some students were dismayed at the infamy Sunderland brought to campus. Others were amused. Many, though, were surprised she was able to get away with filming a porn in the crowded library for half an hour without being caught by anyone. ‘I feel like it’s always packed. I don’t know how anyone could get away with it,’ student Shelby Wilson told KEZI. She’s definitely a bold one. Even though she didn’t make it too far in school…maybe her little study session opened the door to a whole new career path…

It’s a strange thing to say, but they could hear Japan’s 9.0 magnitude earthquake in Alaska. At least Oregon State University scientists could, using the U.S. Navy’s SOund SUrveillance System (SOSUS) Monitoring System, previously intended for tracking submarines in the Cold War. The recording is now online and it is an awe-inspiring sound. Scientists at Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : Laughing Squid Discovery Date : 15/04/2011 23:22 Number of articles : 2

MIT Creates Self-Assembling Solar Cells That Repair Themselves

MIT’s Test Cell Patrick Gillooly, MIT Solar cells are intended to mimic the photosynthesis of plants — converting light into energy in the most efficient manner possible. But what other characteristics of plants could be handy for the renewable energy sector to mimic? How about the self-assembly of chloroplast, the component of plants that do all the vital photosynthesis. Leaves repair themselves after sun damage again and again to keep up their ability to convert light into energy. Now, MIT researchers believe they’ve discovered how to use this self-assembly to restore solar cells damaged by the sun…. Read the full story on TreeHugger

Hurt Locker Wins Big at Oscars, Kathryn Bigelow takes Best Director

It was the first Iraq war movie to really break through, and now “The Hurt Locker” has won six Academy Awards, including best picture and best director, marking the first time an Oscar for directing has gone to a woman. The movie opens with a quote from Truthdig columnist Chris Hedges. “The rush of battle is often a potent and lethal addiction, for war is a drug.” Hedges wrote that line in his book “War Is a Force That Gives Us Meaning.” The film is surprisingly apolitical, given its subject matter. It was written and co-produced by Mark Boal, a journalist who won an Oscar for his screenplay. The winning director, Kathryn Bigelow, was only the fourth woman ever nominated in that category. She beat out, among others, Lee Daniels, who would have been the first African-American to take home the best-director statuette. http://www.truthdig.com/arts_culture/item/hurt_locker_wins_big_at_oscars_2010030… added by: toreyray

Earthquake in Turkey Kills 51

A strong, pre-dawn earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6 struck eastern Turkey on Monday, killing 51 people as it knocked down stone and mud-brick houses and minarets in at least six villages, the government said. The earthquake surprised many people as they slept, crumpling buildings into piles of rubble. Panicked survivors fled into the narrow village streets, some climbing out of windows, as more than 50 aftershocks measuring up to 5.5 and 5.3 magnitude rattled the region. The Kandilli seismology center said the quake hit at 4:32 a.m. (0232 GMT, 9 p.m. EST Sunday) near the village of Basyurt in Elazig province, about 340 miles (550 kilometers) east of Ankara, the capital. added by: lifestudentno83

Growing low-oxygen zones in oceans worry scientists

Lower levels of oxygen in the Earth's oceans, particularly off the United States' Pacific Northwest coast, could be another sign of fundamental changes linked to global climate change, scientists say. They warn that the oceans' complex undersea ecosystems and fragile food chains could be disrupted. In some spots off Washington state and Oregon, the almost complete absence of oxygen has left piles of Dungeness crab carcasses littering the ocean floor, killed off 25-year-old sea stars, crippled colonies of sea anemones and produced mats of potentially noxious bacteria that thrive in such conditions. Areas of hypoxia, or low oxygen, have long existed in the deep ocean. These areas — in the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian oceans — appear to be spreading, however, covering more square miles, creeping toward the surface and in some places, such as the Pacific Northwest, encroaching on the continental shelf within sight of the coastline. “The depletion of oxygen levels in all three oceans is striking,” said Gregory Johnson, an oceanographer with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in Seattle. In some spots, such as off the Southern California coast, oxygen levels have dropped roughly 20 percent over the past 25 years. Elsewhere, scientists say, oxygen levels might have declined by one-third over 50 years. “The real surprise is how this has become the new norm,” said Jack Barth, an oceanography professor at Oregon State University. “We are seeing it year after year.” Barth and others say the changes are consistent with current climate-change models. Previous studies have found that the oceans are becoming more acidic as they absorb more carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. more at link… http://www.mcclatchydc.com/2010/03/07/89918/growing-low-oxygen-zones-in-oceans.h… added by: WakeUpPeople
