Megan Fox Doesn’t Think She’s ‘Provocative’

The ‘Jonah Hex’ star thinks she and Lady Gaga are frequently misinterpreted. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Megan Fox Photo: Bill Sloyer/ MTV News Let’s play one of our favorite pop-culture games, “Is This Megan Fox Quote Provocative or Just Misinterpreted?” “I’m insane,” the 24-year-old “Jonah Hex” star told MTV News last summer. “Sometimes I’m great, and other times I’m a complete lunatic.” How about this one: “I don’t want to elaborate. I would never call myself a cutter,” Fox once told Rolling Stone. Or this: “[Michael Bay is] like Napoleon and he wants to create this insane, infamous mad-man reputation,” Fox declared of the “Transformers” director last year. “He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is.” So, provocative or misinterpreted? Ask Fox herself, and she’ll answer “misinterpreted” every time. “I don’t feel like I’ve ever necessarily said anything that was provocative,” she told MTV News. “I think that people take relatively innocent statements and turn them into provocative things. … People have no idea how to react. It’s not that the statement itself is outrageous.” Fox has a feeling that other celebs who are dubbed “provocative” for the things they say or do in public are similarly misunderstood. Take Lady Gaga, who seemingly can’t take a breath without making news for the manner in which she expelled the air. While Fox scrupulously avoids the Web, she’s quite sure Gaga is not so much outrageous as she is misconstrued. “I don’t go on the Internet, so I don’t know what she’s been saying lately. I assume that’s probably what’s happening with her as well,” Fox said of Gaga being misinterpreted in the press. Yet, the actress is thankful for one thing about Gaga’s public persona: If the pop star has replaced her as the outrageous celeb-du-jour, that’s a good thing. “[I]f that has happened, I’m really excited about that,” she said with a smile. Kristen Stewart ‘Not Worried’ About Her Next Career Move

‘I really just choose things instinctually,’ the ‘Eclipse’ star tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Kristen Stewart Photo: MTV News Kristen Stewart has it pretty good these days. She’s the female lead in one of the most successful movie franchises of all time. She’s managed to continue to do work in smaller films. And she pretty much has her pick of any film she’d like to do next. But the “Eclipse” star said all she’s focused on next in her career is not having to really focus on anything. “I feel less [career pressure] because I’m in such a stellar position,” she told MTV News. “I feel really indulgent, like I feel it’s really cool to be able to say, ‘I don’t know [what I’m doing] for the next couple years.’ I’m gonna focus on being an actor. Like, I want to make movies and stuff.” Stewart does have some projects lined up, including the “Breaking Dawn” flicks and “On the Road,” but she’s not worried about her otherwise-clear docket. “I want to do other stuff, but right now, it’s really cool just being like, ‘I don’t know what I’m going to do next year, but this year I’m doing this.’ I’m doing ‘On the Road’ and ‘Breaking Dawn,’ and that’s all that I know that I’m doing.” Stewart’s next big career choices will be made the way all her other decisions are: from her gut. “I’m not good at planning out my career,” she said. “But if I was, I’d probably feel pressure, but because I don’t and I really just choose things instinctually, I’m not worried about it.” We’ll be live at the L.A. premiere of “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” on Thursday, June 24. Tune in to Movies.MTV.com at 9:30 ET (8:30 Central) for our red-carpet webcast, and watch us chat with Robert, Kristen, Taylor and all your favorite stars. Jackson Rathbone Says Making ‘Breaking Dawn’ Will Be ‘Amazing Experience’

‘I find myself working with people I’ve dreamed of working with,’ actor says of director Bill Condon. By Kara Warner Jackson Rathbone Photo: MTV News “Twilight” star Jackson Rathbone can’t believe his luck: Not only is he part of a hugely popular franchise, but he’s been able to work with some of his favorite directors. When MTV caught up with Rathbone, who is in two big summer movies — “Eclipse” and M. Night Shyamalan’s “The Last Airbender” — he revealed he can’t wait to start work on “Breaking Dawn” with Oscar-winner Bill Condon at the helm. “I have not yet had a chance to meet Bill Condon, but I think it’s going to be an amazing experience to work with an Academy Award-winning director of his caliber,” he said. “Getting to work with these incredible directors that I’ve admired, ever since filming “The Last Airbender” with M. Night, even the first “Twilight” with Catherine Hardwicke. I really loved her directorial debut, [which] I think was ‘Thirteen.’ I thought that was incredible, and she co-wrote it with Nikki Reed, who’s a good friend of mine now.” Rathbone said he’s still trying to wrap his mind around it all and just wants to bask in the glow. “I find myself working with people I’ve dreamed of working with. It’s an amazing position to be in,” he said. “It’s a privilege, not a right. … I’m basking in it, loving it, because as an artist, you get those moments, you live ’em up.” As for “Breaking Dawn,” the musician/actor said he knows just as much as we do. Which is not a lot. “They’re keeping ‘Breaking Dawn’ under wraps,” he said. We’re all waiting on a script right now. It’s all up in the air — we don’t even know when we’re going to film.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” and “The Last Airbender.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .

Megan Fox Dropped From ‘Transformers 3’

Fox and director Michael Bay reportedly exchanged heated words last year. By MTV News staff Megan Fox in “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” Photo: Paramount Megan Fox and Michael Bay famously exchanged heated words around the release of “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” last summer, with the actress comparing the director to Hitler and the director saying the actress “still has a lot of growing up to do.” Despite their contentious relationship, the pair seemed set to reunite this summer for a third “Transformers” flick. But now, in a stunning reversal, Fox has been dropped from the movie. Deadline.com broke the story that Paramount has declined to pick up Fox’s contractual option for “Transformers 3” and that giving star Shia LaBeouf a “new love interest makes more sense for the story,” according to an unnamed source. GossipCop.com has now confirmed the story. “Her option has not been picked up,” a spokesperson for the studio reportedly said. As of press time, MTV News’ calls to Paramount, Fox’s publicist and producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura’s publicist have not been returned. MTV News had heard whispers that the filmmakers had been considering writing Fox out of the script, but nothing seemed to have come of it until now. Di Bonaventura told MTV News in April that there was no trouble in the world of “Transformers” when it came to Fox and Bay’s relationship. “Michael and Megan get along great,” he told us. “Like in any creative endeavor, there’s not always total agreement. Michael doesn’t agree on everything with me or Shia. He’s the captain of the ship. But I think that’s much ado about nothing. I even read that we were thinking about not casting her. Come on! It’s so silly. As though we would want to mess with such a successful combination.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Transformers 3.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Miley Cyrus ‘Sold’ On Liam Hemsworth After First Date

Cyrus tells Jay Leno about meeting ‘Last Song’ co-star and real-life boyfriend at Starbucks. By Jocelyn Vena Miley Cyrus on “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” Photo: NBC Miley Cyrus had no doubt that she and Liam Hemsworth, her “Last Song” co-star and real-life boyfriend, would have chemistry after she met him for the first time. As soon as he arrived at Starbucks for their first “co-star” date, she knew that he was the right guy for her and for the part. “He’s cute. He plays my boyfriend in the movie, which is very convenient,” she joked when she stopped by “The Tonight Show” to chat with Jay Leno on Thursday. “I met him two weeks before filming. We went on a Starbucks date. That’s what you do when you meet your co-star that you have to be kissing for months and months and months, and I was sold.” That encounter made kissing him on the very first day of filming very easy. “[Our first kiss] was on the first day of filming in the movie,” she said. “We have this scene where we frolic in the water. So I frolic very well apparently, and after that I got to keep him.” Cyrus and Hemsworth have only been dating for about ten months , but she says that they’ve already checked out each other’s parents to see how well they will age in the future. “He looked good and he’s got a full head of hair,” she said about her beau’s dad. And as for her mom, Tish, Cyrus joked, “My mom’s hot, so …. No, I’m very aware [she’s hot]. I think that was the only reason why I had any guy friends.” Check out everything we’ve got on href=”http://www.mtv.com/movies/movie/423507/moviemain.jhtml”> “The Last Song.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .
