Angelina Jolie Opens Up on Brad Pitt Split: He’s Still Holding Me Back!

It’s been almost three years since Angelina Jolie separated from Brad Pitt following an incident aboard a private jet that remains shrouded in mystery. At first, both parties remained firmly tight-lipped about both their marriage and their divorce, but these days the actors make the occasional cryptic reference to their former lives and the way things have changed since their split. Brad was the first to break his silence. Thanks to a series of candid interviews, we now know, for example, that Pitt is sober , having reevaluated his use of intoxicants after the separation. Angie kept a lid on things a bit longer, which makes sense. No one ever accused her of instigating the alleged plane altercation, so she likely didn’t feel the need to explain anything. But Angie has a new movie to promote, and she’s been in the business long enough to know exactly what the people want. And so, she gave one of the most candid interviews of her career to Harper’s Bazaar this week. Jolie revealed that years after the split, she finally feels “the blood returning to [her] body,” a profound atatement about the tremendous toll the divorce has taken on her. “My children know my true self, and they have helped me to find it again and to embrace it. They have been through a lot. I learn from their strength,” she added. She went on to say that her choices with regard to where she settles down are currently limited by her husband’s decisions. “I would love to live abroad and will do so as soon as my children are 18. Right now I’m having to base where their father chooses to live,” she told the magazine. Proving once again that celebrity breakups are very, very different from civilian splits, Angie went on to bemoan the fact that her duties as a single parent prevent her from spending time at the Cambodian jungle home she built before she met Brad. “We got a call the other day informing us that chipmunks have moved into the house,” she griped. “They asked if we should remove them, and Vivienne was very clear that we needed to cover the wires and let them stay.” Yes, when you’re rich enough you can leave the First World and still have First World problems. We joke about Angie’s incredible wealth, but the real takeaway here is that she’s a devoted mom, who’s endured a very difficult three yeats. Jolie’s eldest son, Maddox, went off to college in South Korea this fall, and while we’re sure the separation is painful, she’s that much closer to being able to live wherever she wants.

Kourtney Kardashian Shows Off Stretch Marks: Everybody Has Them!

Late this summer, Kourtney Kardashian flaunted her stretch marks on social media, turning heads and earning praise. Kourt notices that her followers approved, and came up with a plan. Now, she’s showing off her “tiger stripes” again, and this time, it’s for a very savvy purpose. Kourtney Kardashian posted this mouth-watering photo to Instagram. Notably, she didn’t share it on her personal Instagram — but on her Poosh side account. While it’s hard to make out in the photo, Kourt does actually have stretch marks. The hot bikini pic was accompanied by a message. “Stretch marks: we’ve all got them,” the caption begins. The Poosh caption then asks: “Looking to minimize the appearance of yours?” Naturally, Poosh being her lifestyle brand and all, the caption then directs followers to click a link to learn how. Most models use their perfections to sell products, so it’s a bit of a change for Kourtney to use her “flaws.” There are a number of modes of thinking about stretch marks. The first is that they are unsightly, and though they can arise from a growth spurt, pregnancy, or exercise, are associated with unwanted weight gain. People of this line of thinking want to do their best to prevent stretch marks from appearing in the first place. When they do get stretch marks, they want to try whatever solutions — Poosh or otherwise — that will mask these marks. Another line of thinking, of course, is that Kourtney and anyone else shouldn’t want to hide these marks. They are, after all, part of your body. Nobody picks their flesh prison. Since there is nothing unhealthy about stretch marks, many feel that the stigma should end. Along with that stigma, people should therefore lose the desire to hide them, as they’re just part of one’s skin. However, both of these diametrically opposed viewpoints kind of … miss the point. Yes, of course there shouldn’t be any stigma about stretch marks. it’s just something that happens to human skin. But that doesn’t mean that Kourtney, or people who take advice from Poosh, are doing anything wrong. Some people embrace their marks while others want to minimize them. Everybody gets to control what they do to their own meatsuit. Kourtney is very clearly not shaming anyone who has stretch marks with this ad. When last she shared her marks, she wrote: “I love my little stripes.” Also, the ad both affirms that everyone has them and then asks if the reader is looking for a change. That’s it. If you’re not looking to change your looks, then the ad is not saying anything about you. That’s an improvement over a lot of beauty ads. Kourtney turned 40 this past April. Compared to some of her siblings, she’s getting into the “personal brand” business a little late. Sure, she hada  brand, but she wasn’t profiting from it as aggressively as Kim or Kylie. Kim’s array of products range from makeup to a mobile game, and have led her to have a net worth of a third of a billion dollars. Kylie Cosmetics, of course, is worth a full billion. Kylie became a mother and a billionaire at a shockingly young age. Now that Kourtney’s dipping her toes into the world, her fans hope that Poosh will do something similar for her. Only time will tell. View Slideshow: Kylie Jenner Playboy Cover: Revealed, Very Busty!

Jill Duggar: My Kids Are Ruining My Life!

Jill Duggar is in a tough spot. Ever since Derick Dillard got fired from Counting On two years ago, her family has been without any steady source of income. ( Jill quit the show as a gesture of solidarity — a move she probably regrets these days.) All Duggars are expected to devote their adult lives to two equally important pursuits: Helping to enrich the family media empire, and cranking out a whole lot of babies. Unfortunately, Jill seems to have little interest in either objective at the moment, Not only does her current financial situation prohibit further family expansion, it seems Jill finds raising two boys to be such a handful that she’s considering closing up shop. Just one week after Jill and Derick revealed that they’re expanding their family with the addition of a new puppy, Jill took to Instagram to vent her frustrations over the ever-increasing demands of mom life. Yes, it seems the situation at Casa de Dillard got a little raucous over the weekend. It all started when Jill’s sons Sam and Israel decided to get out of bed and redecorate the kitchen. “This is me frustrated,” Dillard said in her Instagram story documenting the incident. “[My son] is screaming at me because he wants a game. I just told them to go lay down or go outside until mommy can cool down and handle this situation.” And the chocolate sauce all over the kitchen wasn’t the only mess Jill had to contend with. It seems Sam and Israel also drew all over the walls with a pencil, which forced Jill to clean up with an eraser. “Just venting over here… [laugh out loud],” Jill captioned her post in an effort to keep the mood light. Of course, in the initial video, Jill griped that her life is almost unbearably stressful with “just two kids” — a comment that’s led many to the conclusion that she and Derick are done having children, Fortunately, Jill has figured out a brilliant strategy for preventing more offspring from entering her life — birth control. Yes, that might sound obvious, but most Duggars view birth control pills as the devil’s Tic Tacs. The Dillards have admitted to using birth control in the past, a fact that alarmed fans, as it was widely assumed that their faith forbade them from doing so. In any event, the situation at Jill’s house eventually calmed down, as the boys became distracted by a neighbor’s dog. And it seems Jill’s been benefitting from a time-tested coping mechanism of her own: “Have lots of good sex!” Derick wrote in a recent blog post about what he considers to be the keys to a successful marriage. “You both need this time together regularly (5-6 times (or more) a week is a good start),” Dillard added. “Guys, you need to keep yourself ‘joyfully available’ for your wife, because only you can fulfill certain desires she might have.” Needless to say, it’s a very good thing that these two don’t share her parents’ views on birth control! Thomas Markle: This is Why I Betrayed My Famous Daughter

Brace yourselves, folks.  Thomas Markle has given yet another interview. And he’s done so in light of his daughter and her beloved husband taking their most aggressive step yet to silence their critics and put the awful British tabloids in their place. Late last week, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry filed a lawsuit against The Daily Mail . They did so due to the publication’s alleged violation of the former’s privacy after it published excerpts from a letter Meghan wrote to her father many months ago. In his very powerful statement, trashing many outlets for their treatment of his wife, Harry never specifies the letter in question — but it’s widely believed to have been a message Meghan sent Thomas  last spring, shortly after she got married. Thomas, of course, is the one who allowed this letter to be released. In this message, Meghan tells her dad that he has “broken [her] heart” by giving so many interview and airing his grievances in such public fashion. So… what has Thomas now done in response to Meghan and Harry’s lawsuit? He’s once again aired his grievances in public. “I decided to release parts of the letter because of the article from Meghan’s friends in People magazine,” Thomas told the Mail on Sunday, explaining why he betrayed his daughter’s confidence. “I have to defend myself. I only released parts of the letter because other parts were so painful. The letter didn’t seem loving to me. I found it hurtful.” This all gets a little complicated, but here is what Thomas is talking about, broken down by timeline: May 2018 : Harry and Meghan get married. Thomas does not attend the wedding. May/June 2018 : Meghan sends her dad a letter that talks about the “painful attacks” against her and Harry he has made in the recent past, asking him to please keep stop doing that. Summer 2018 : a friend of Markle’s tells People Magazine that Thomas requested a “photo op” with Meghan after receiving her letter, which was the “opposite” of what Meghan was hoping he would do or say. Early 2019 : Thomas releases Meghan’s letter to the press. And now? Thomas is saying that this People Magazine article is what set him off and gave him no choice but to expose his child’s heartfelt plea to the world. “I don’t recognize the person who wrote the letter but I still love my daughter,” Thomas told The Mail on Sunday, adding: “All it would take is one phone call and most of this craziness would stop.” And we’re sure Thomas will get it after going to the very same outlet to which he released Meghan’s letter several months ago. No doubt. The Mail on Sunday reported that Thomas is also upset by false claims that he requested and received payment for releasing parts of the letter. The outlet stated that no payment was requested or given for their article on Saturday. Meghan and Harry’s law firm released a statement last week saying the following: “We have initiated legal proceedings against the Mail on Sunday, and its parent company Associated Newspapers, over the intrusive and unlawful publication of a private letter written by the Duchess of Sussex, which is part of a campaign by this media group to publish false and deliberately derogatory stories about her, as well as her husband. “Given the refusal of Associated Newspapers to resolve this issue satisfactorily, we have issued proceedings to redress this breach of privacy, infringement of copyright and the aforementioned media agenda.” In a rare move, Harry also spoke out on this topic: “The contents of a private letter were published unlawfully in an intentionally destructive manner to manipulate you, the reader, and further the divisive agenda of the media group in question. In addition to their unlawful publication of this private document, they purposely misled you by strategically omitting select paragraphs, specific sentences, and even singular words to mask the lies they had perpetuated for over a year. A spokesperson for The Mail on Sunday later told E! News in a statement,: “The Mail on Sunday stands by the story it published and will be defending this case vigorously. “Specifically, we categorically deny that the Duchess’ letter was edited in any way that changed its meaning.” View Slideshow: Meghan Markle: 19 Cruelest Things Her Own Family Has Said About the Duchess

Choose Your Reader App Builds Community Through Storytelling

Read the original post:

S torytelling has long since been a rich tradition in the Black community. From the folktales shared by ancestors that have been passed down for generations to the new generation of musicians, poets, and writers, who are capturing their experiences through their artistry; oral traditions within Black culture have been instrumental in the preservation of our narratives. Entrepreneur Mike Coles is on a mission to elevate the storytelling experience, build community and preserve legacies through his app Choose Your Reader . For Coles—a lawyer, screenwriter, and author who was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio—books were often used as an escape. He grew up in a town that was segregated and as a result was bussed to a school on the other side of town during his grade school years. He says that experience forced him to level up and sparked a passion for education. It was during this time in his life where Coles fell in love with reading and storytelling. Amongst some of the earliest books he read—which were given to him by his mother who earned a master’s degree in child psychology—were the Big Red series penned by author Jim Kjelgaard and the books The Call of the Wild and White Fang by Jack London . During his teenage years, he started reading comic books and collected hundreds of them. Fast forward decades later and the passion for stories is something that has been passed down to his son. One evening, while getting his son ready for bed the 3-year-old child asked that Coles tell him a story. While Coles was headed to the bookshelf to grab a book, his son told him that he wanted him to make the story up off the top of his head. His son shared three things that he wanted to be included in the story—a baseball, softball, and golf ball. Coles’ improvisational skills led to the creation of a compelling story; so compelling that his son wanted the same story repeated the following three nights. Then his son began to ask that he add other elements to the story including illustrations. While struggling to find content to bring the story to life, Coles discovered there was a need for apps that featured stories which merged engaging narratives with good illustrations. He then developed the concept for Choose Your Reader in 2016 and decided to move forward with bringing the app to fruition. Choose Your Reader gives individuals the ability to create and voice record stories to share with the children in their lives. Coles started out with the stories that he created for his son and now there are a total of 20 stories on the app; half a dozen of which are in different languages. The app features stories in English, Spanish, Russian, Mandarin, Arabic, and Hindi. Choose Your Reader was created to build a stronger sense of community. “People are becoming less connected and informed,” he told NewsOne. “Thinking about the legacy that individuals can leave behind, we can continue to build upon an oral tradition that is strong within the Black community. We have the ability to leverage the platform to create content and archive it for generations to come.” Source: Mike Coles For Coles, Choose Your Reader is also about bringing diverse narratives to the forefront. He plans on launching a section of the app that will highlight writers of color. Through the app, he’s also helping writers lower the cost of distributing and promoting their content. He says a lot of content creators of color are locked out of the publishing industry due to a flawed economic structure and he wants to change that narrative. Coles is also adamant about increasing the representation of Black protagonists in children’s stories. “Our stories have diversity and importance and are not monolithic. We tell the illustrators that diversity is important. We want to incorporate people of color into nursery rhymes and other stories that have been around for a long time. Nobody said what Little Jack Horner looked like, why can’t he be Black?” As for what’s on the horizon for Choose Your Reader, Coles says he wants to work with schools in underserved communities so they can aid teachers in cutting the costs for schoolbooks and sharing compelling content with students to spark their interest in different fields. The app will also have the capability to track the progression of a reader. He’s aiming to have 100 books available on the app by the end of the year. The app is free through December. Jade Chynoweth in her Bikini for Attention of the Day

Why would a woman stage a lame photoshoot with her iphone, whether it be harassing random people at the party, by the pool, other hotel guests, her boyfriend or sugar baby or dad…half naked in a bikini, if it wasn’t for the sole purpose of attention seeking. What would compel a woman to share her bikini pics with her fans, besides saying “this is what I look like in a bikini”, half naked, innocent and casual maybe…but seems like effort went into this…in the fact the picture exists and was uploaded. I know what no effort looks like, I live no effort in all aspects of my life, and sure I say I don’t give a fuck about this site I’ve been writing daily since 2004…for no real personal gain but I don’t actually care about you, my reader…if you’re out there…clearly I care about calling whores out for being whores, otherwise I wouldn’t do it…I also call out celebrated women for being not as hot as they think they are…it’s become my life work…which is weird because I don’t care about pop culture or celebrity…but OUSTING WHORES is the mission… I mean really, have you ever heard of Jade Chynoweth? If you’re not some weirdo, I assume you haven’t, so analyzing the reason for the bikini pic is hardly worth our time. We get it. Rogue One Reviews: Is The Force With This Star Wars Story?

The social media buzz over the latest Star Wars offering, Rogue One , may not be quite what it was for last year’s The Force Awakens, but we suppose that’s to be expected. After all, that film not marked the beloved franchise’s return to theaters after a ten-year absence, it had trusted sequel and reboot architect J.J. Abrams at the helm. And it didn’t hurt that TFA was the next installment of an ongoing saga, whereas Rogue One is something else entirely … The Gareth Edwards-directed film has been described as more of a spinoff than a proper sequel, tonally different from the rest of the franchise, as it offers a view of the rebels as a gritty band of guerillas. Does the risk pay off? Well, here’s what some top critics have to say: ” A tense, well-made spacefaring war movie about a desperate and demoralized band of insurgents standing up against a rising authoritarian regime .” – Chris Klimek, NPR ” Except for a few jocose, fan-serving moments, the movie is a dour affair, lacking the charm and chills of J.J. Abrams’s spirited Star Wars: The Force Awakens, not to mention George Lucas’s founding trilogy. ” – Leah Pickett, Chicago Reader ” The good news is that Edwards’ effort to make a storm-the-beach war film produces a tense third act that earns most of its big moments and also justifies much of what’s come before .” – Matthew Lickona, San Diego Reader ” Rogue One does a great job of walking the fine line between being a Star Wars film and not feeling like any other Star Wars fil m.” – Matt Neal, The Standard  “The movie didn’t rekindle the thrill of seeing, say, The Empire Strikes Back, but Rogue One will loom pretty large in the Star Wars galaxy – if only because there’s so little competition.” – David Edelstein, New York Magazine As evidenced by its 85% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes, the is doing well with critics overall, but falls short of the standard set by TFA. Still, it seems that Star Wars obsessives are buying into this darker vision of their favorite far away galaxy.

R.I.P. “Booty Call” Director Jeffrey Pollack Found Dead At Age 54

Tragic news out of Hollywood . Veteran Director Jeffrey Ian Pollack Found Dead He was such a young, talented and successful producer. According to NY Daily News: The tragic death of veteran producer Jeffrey Ian Pollack has left friends, family and peers in mourning. The discovery of the 54-year-old “Booty Call” director’s body on a secluded jogging trail in California’s Hermosa Beach Monday has also left questions as to what killed the avid runner. By the time another jogger stumbled upon the body at 6:30 a.m. Monday, Pollack, wearing a jogging outfit as his Eagles tunes still played on his iPod, was already dead, the Hermosa Beach Easy Reader reported. A cause of death has yet to be released. Pollack’s death hit the industry hard – particularly for those who worked with him over a career that started as a producer on the early ’90s TV series “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” which introduced rapper Will Smith to mainstream America. Credited as Jeff Pollack, he directed three movies -”Above the Rim,” which starred Marlon Wayans, in 1994; Jamie Foxx vehicle “Booty Call” in 1997; and the 1999 romantic comedy “Lost & Found” – but primarily concentrated on producing since. Business partner Benny Medina expressed his grief in a statement to Deadline.com: “He was my partner, but first and foremost, a great and loyal friend whom I loved dearly,” said Medina, who had run Handprint Entertainment, a management company, with Pollack until it closed down in 2008. “Gone too soon, I will miss him.” Medina added that Pollack’s greatest legacy was the two children he leaves behind — daughter Lael Pollack, 19, and son Logan Pollack, 13. Prayers go out to his family. WENN
