From high-priced tickets to crazy Airbnb rates in Atlanta, people fly from all over the country just to witness the biggest game of the season–but back in their Nickelodeon days, Kenan Thompson and his partner-in-comedy Kel Mitchell weren’t so impressed. Kenan stopped by The Tonight Show this week and told an absolutely hilarious story about him and Kel receiving free Super Bowl tickets from their employer at the time, Nickelodeon. Spoiler alert: they don’t end up making it to the game, because they’ve got some other priorities.
Source: Andy Lyons / Getty Indiana Pacers star Victor Oladipo is out for the season after suffering a ruptured quad injury on Wednesday and over the weekend after receiving support and encouragement from across the league and fans, he finally spoke out about his season-ending injury on Instagram. “It’s going to be tough but tough times don’t last tough people do,” Oladipo wrote in an Instagram caption . “It’s time for me to truly practice what I preach and trust my God in heaven and the plan he has for me. I will be back better than ever and if you question that well, thank you. Greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world! I am #UnBreakable .” Oladipo also went on to thank everyone for their outpouring of support. “Thank you to everyone including all my teammates, pacer fans and staff.” Oladipo said. “Thank you to all the NBA fans around the world and all my brothers around the league who texted, called, tweeted and posted me I am truly thankful.” See Oladipo’s full caption and picture on IG below:
Well, it was a good run. For the better part of a decade, the original Teen Mom (later known as Teen Mom OG) was a force to be reckoned with on the overcrowded landscape of basic cable reality shows. But all good things must come to an end, and it seems that Teen Mom OG’s time at the top is no exception. In a trend that seems to have started when Farrah Abraham was fired from the show last year, TMOG’s ratings have been in a freefall for several months. As Radar Online reports, this year’s season premiere marked the show’s smallest audience to date. And things started bad and got worse, as viewership continued to decline over the course of the season. In 2017, the show’s season premiere drew in a whopping 1.3 million. By the end of its most recent season, TMOG was attracting just over half a million viewers Compare that to the show’s spinoff, Teen Mom 2, which averaged nearly 1.2 million throughout its 2018 season. Not surprisingly, producers are scrambling to figure out a solution and restore the show to its former glory. The additions of Bristol Palin and Cheyenne Floyd didn’t turn out to be the ratings boon that producers had hoped — but there’s still hope that tinkering with the cast will help draw in a larger audience. “There’s been talk about more airtime for certain friends and family,” a production source tells Radar Online. “Tyler Baltierra’s friend River Ceballos has been approached about filming scenes with him.” Radar reports that Levi Johnston and his wife, Sunny, will also play a larger role on the show’s upcoming season. “We’re filimg,” Sunny confirmed during a recent Instagram Q&A. The insider says producers were happy to learn that Amber Portwood will not be quitting the show , as she had previously threatened. “She had second thoughts about leaving. She now wants to stay with the MTV family and share her story,” says the insider. “Because of the fans and her 10-year history on the show, she doesn’t want to leave abruptly.” Without Farrah, Amber is the show’s number one source of drama, and losing her might have meant the end for Teen Mom OG. The producers are navigating tricky waters at this point. They hope to liven the show up with new castmates, but they have to be careful not to anger any of the existing cast with major changes. “The OGs will get a heads up on major changes and new members,” the source claims. There was a lot up in the air as Grey’s Anatomy made its triumphant return to the air on Thursday night. While the hospital was plunged into darkness, lives were on the line, but fans only had one thing on their minds: MerLuca! Meredith and DeLuca were trapped inside an elevator mere moments after the latter opened up about his strong feelings for the former. If fans thought they were in for one of the show’s steamy hookups, then they were sorely mistaken. Meredith was too concerned about Cece’s wellbeing. As you will recall, Meredith had a heart for Cece and was gearing up to harvest it to save the love guru. That was moments before the storm plunged the hospital into darkness. Desperate to prove his he was worthy of being her man, DeLuca pressed on with finding a way to escape. Before the elevator actually got moving, DeLuca persisted to get his point across to Meredith. He thought she was excellent, and he would be very interested in getting between the sheets with her. Grey was grinning from ear-to-ear, but she was not ready to get hot and heavy in an elevator. Things took a turn when DeLuca revealed that his father was a famous surgeon in Italy. However, he operated on seven patients during a manic phase and saved four. He was tried but acquitted because he had money and connections. In a genuinely romantic moment, Mer asked her beau to speak to her in Italian. Here’s the translated version of what he said: “When you finally let me kiss you, and you will let me kiss you, I won’t ever stop.” Mer understood every single word he said, and the pair got close. Then the freaking door opened. As for Cece, she started the hour in a bad way. Her vitals were dropping, and it was not looking good. “My old heart is jealous of my new one,” she told Maggie. One of the new interns, Taryn, worried that Cece was about to pass away and there was no heart ready because it was trapped in another elevator. “I just think we’re gonna plummet, and Cece’s gonna die,” said Taryn to Bailey while in said elevator. On the outside, Jackson was going all out to save Cece and went as far as threatening the hospital’s building manager because he wanted in that elevator stat. When the manager did actually he help, he got his legs crushed by the doors of the elevator. Cece continued to get closer to death and realized there was something amiss, so she chatted with Maggie about the surgeon’s love life. But the conversation was cut short when Cece flatlined. Meredith tried to save her life and was ecstatic there was a heartbeat. “We got a heartbeat,” Mer yelled. “Thank God — she told me she would haunt me.” The next thing we knew, Mer was talking to Cece about her romantic interests, and the camera pulled back to reveal that Cece was dead. Looks like not everyone can win, you guys. elsewhere on this wild installment: – Maggie wanted to break some more rules to tell Jackson about Catherine’s cancer and sulked around the hospital as others told her not to. – Bailey had an epiphany: She loved Ben and wanted to make everything right. She texted him before reaching out to Karev to ask for his help. – Amelia, Teddy, and Owen all took the baby news well, with Teddy agreeing to stay in Seattle because the child could have two parents. Did you watch the first season of Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant ? If not, you’re certainly not alone. Like Bristol Palin, Young & Pregnant didn’t turn out to be the ratings juggernaut the Teen Mom franchise is so desperately seeking these days. Despite the fact that the show failed to take off in the same way as its predecessors, it apparently attracted a large enough audience to warrant a second chance. The Ashley’s Reality Roundup is reporting today that Young & Pregnant has officially been renewed for a second season. “The people behind the scenes of the show got notice in late November that MTV was giving [ Young & Pregnant ] another season,” a source tells The Ashley. “They were supposed to start filming in January, but they started early. Most of the girls have been filming for Season 2 since mid-December.” There were rumors of Young and Pregnant being renewed over the summer, but apparently, MTV didn’t reach the decision to order more episodes until November. Now, for contractual reasons, Season 2 isn’t really Season 2, but Season 1B. It’s a clever workaround that MTV and Viacom use to avoid having to renegotiate contracts every year. But despite the fact that they didn’t get a chance to hold out for more money, all of the moms will be returning for Teen Mom Young & Pregnant Season 1B. (You know a franchise has been around for a long time when it starts delivering mouthful titles like that one.) Ashley Jones, Lexi Tatman, Brianna Jaramillo, Jade Cline and Kayla Sessler are all currently filming. If there was a standout in season 1A, it was likely Jones, whose feud with Farrah Abraham made her a fan favorite on Instagram. (Of course, that only happened after Jones befriended Farrah, which made her quite unpopular for a time.) Rumors that Young & Pregnant had been canceled began to circulate back in November. These were the result not only of ratings that started out low and declined throughout the season, but also of a cryptic Instagram post from Jones that seemed to indicate the show had come to an end. “Well ladies, here goes my heartfelt post about what an honor its been to be apart of a TV show with you girls,” Ashley wrote. “So grateful that our cast is full of love and understanding, and when times get hard we all reach out…It’s been a long emotional journey. But that’s a wrap. Wouldn’t have done it any other way.” So either she was mistaken or MTV execs had a change of heart. Either way, get ready for more Young & Pregnant (if you’re among the very few who watched the first season, that is). In the season, we expect the sons and daughters of cartel members give a glimpse into their personal lives as they navigate adulthood and the effects of their family legacies. In earlier teasers, we knew that Jazz Jennings' gender confirmation surgery had a complication . As this trailer makes clear, viewers will see the drama before, during, and after her surgery. On top of that, we'll see Jazz tackle a difficult interview … and the new man in her life. This new season of I Am Jazz is going to be full of major life milestones. Notably, Jazz undergoes a challenging genital surgery. “I’ve been waiting for this my whole life,” Jazz gushes about her upcoming procedure. “And now it’s time.” While we know that Jazz is doing great after the operation, there were a number of problems for surgeons. “The surgical team haven’t figured out what approach they’re going to take to building my vagina,” Jazz admits in the trailer. Not every transgender person gets bottom surgery — the term for gender confirmation surgery performed upon genitals. It's expensive, there are risks, it can be imperfect, and most importantly, gender and genitals are not synonymous. But it's not a new procedure, and there have been great strides towards protecting the process during recent decades. Still, one of Jazz's surgeons admits that giving Jazz a vagina will be “the most difficult case that I have encountered.” Why? It's complicated. Jazz was lucky enough to have a supportive family as a child, so she was able to go on puberty blockers and then the right hormones. This spared her the indignity of going through the wrong kind of puberty and meant that she was able to grow her own breasts. However, that meant that her genitals never grew, which means that doctors have less tissue with which to work. Resourceful surgeons ultimately decided to use part of the lining of her peritoneum, which is located in her abdominal cavity. This was a source of extra tissue and is also regenerative. But there's more to Jazz's journey this season than her bottom surgery. She turned 18 this past year, and while fans have seen her dip her toes in the dating world before, it looks like things are more serious now. “I feel like I’ve been ready to fall in love for so long,” she tells her brother in one scene. Jazz describes love: “It’s like the ultimate connection.” Yep. She has a specific boy on her life — and his name is Amir. “There’s a boy in the picture now,” Jennings reveals. “Amir just gets me, and I get him.” “Have you kissed him yet?” one of Jazz's friends asks during the trailer. Jazz is almost surprised by the question, and says: “I’ve kissed him a lot.” That is an extremely age-appropriate answer. The new season of I Am Jazz premieres on Tuesday, January 1, at 10pm. Other elements of this season teased by the new trailer include a difficult interview that she gave in 2018. Additionally, she has a spiritual consultation that seems to urge her to put off her surgery by just a short while. Jazz had to wait her entire life, so we'll understand if she didn't heed that advice.
