For the second time in just over a week, we’re forced to say the following: Kim Kardashian is right. Shortly after the tragic Orlando shooting that claimed the lives of 49 people last week, Kardashian didn’t simply offer hollow thoughts or prayers. She Tweeted an actual solid point, referencing the “Terror Gap” in the United States, a loophole that allows suspected terrorists on the FBI Watch List to purchase automatic weapons. “We have repeatedly called on Congress to close this loophole that makes it easy for dangerous people to get guns & kill,” Kardashian wrote last week . “Nothing has changed!!!! People continue to senselessly die. When will these gun laws be changed?!?!?!?!!!!?????” Fast forward to Monday night and the Senate rejecting a quartet of legal measures, each of which would have made it more difficult for certain people to purchase guns in America. Most of this proposed legislation centered on the extension of background checks… and no bill received the 60 votes it needed to pass. This is how Kardashian responded to the failure of politicians to change anything about gun control in her country: “So terrorists on fbi’s wanted lists can legally still buy guns. Oh & mentally ill people can buy guns without a background check too.. “The fact that anyone can so easily access guns is so scary & after all of the devastating loss the Senate should have not failed us!!!” View Slideshow: Kim Kardashian: Her 24 Most Hideous Fashion Moments Kardashian also re-Tweeted a multitude of related messages, such as the list of which Senators voted for or against one of the measures. There is also a list going around of how much money these Senators have received over the years from the National Rifle Association. It may sound silly, but Kardashian could have actual influence on issues such as these. She has over 74.5 million Instagram followers. She can get, like, half of them to purchase some kind of lipstick she likes. Imagine what she could push them to do if she were to focus on topics that truly impacted the nation…

South Carolina Senate Casts First Vote to Remove Confederate Flag This is step one in the process to get South Carolina’s Confederate Flag down … The NY Times reports: The South Carolina Senate voted Monday to remove the Confederate battle flag from the grounds of the State House. The bipartisan proposal, which emerged after last month’s massacre at a historic black church in Charleston, was approved by a 37-to-3 vote in the Republican-controlled Senate. The Senate has one remaining ratification vote, now virtually assured of success. The debate will shift to the House of Representatives, which Republicans also dominate, where the timeline for — and tenor of — the debate remains less clear. The Senate’s vote on Monday marked a resounding shift in South Carolina, where less than three weeks ago removing the Confederate battle flag from a memorial near the State House was viewed as politically impossible. Now we just have to wait to see what the House votes. What do YOU think about the news???

So… did Olivia do it? Did she successfully take down her father to close out Scandal Season 4 ? Simply put, as you’ll note in our recap below: eh, kind of… Watch Scandal Season 4 Episode 22 Online On Scandal Season 4 Episode 22 , picked right up from last week, with Mellie taking her meeting with Rowan. Once he starts to run his “causes” by her, the man masquerading as Damascus Bainbridge makes his agenda clear: He has a lot of dirt on both Mellie and Fitz and, in exchange for keeping it a secret, he wants the name of the panelists on the B613 grand jury. Mellie gives in and tasks Lizzie with digging them up. Oops, though, because this led to a bus shuttling the jurors to be gunned down… by Huck. Because Rowan had made death threats against his family. In the wake of this execution, Lizzie, tells Fitz that Mellie is working with Rowan and that the First Lady was complicit in the slaughter, to which Fitz screams at the First Lady: Get out of my (White) House! Mellie did win the Senate seat in the end. But my doing even more than selling her soul, we’d say. Rowan also threatened Cyrus this week, threatening the Chief of Staff to force him to silence the B613 takedown campaign. Cyrus acquiesces, even targeting his attorney general’s “pressure point,” Abby. In response, David compels Olivia and Jake (who has been detained by the CIA after attempting to get its director involved) to recant any statements – or else. View Slideshow: 18 SHOCKING Shondaland Moments Did anyone come out on top in this finale? Yes. Olivia failed to get the CIA involved in taking down B613. But she did land Elijah Pope behind bars – on embezzlement charges. She also was prompted by Jake to go after what she is “owed” in order to be with the man she loves back. And so we close with Liv appearing on the White House balcony, “Here Comes the Sun” playing in the background. What did everyone think of this finale?
