Chris Brown on Condo Complaints: I’m Being Set Up By Haters!

Chris Brown is hitting back at allegations that he’s the neighbor from hell , saying peeps in his building are trying to smear him and make him look bad. Specifically, he claims one of his neighbors scratched the initials “C.B.” into an elevator in an effort to make the singer look like a “reckless punk.” Chris’ West Hollywood neighbors are not fans, complaining to the manager about noise, parking violations and the aforementioned vandalism. Now, Brown has FIRED BACK on his Twitter page. “My neighbor carves my name in our elevator to incriminate me so it looks like I’m a reckless 22 your [sic] old,” the star writes. As for photos showing Brown parking in handicapped spaces, Brown says, “My parking spaces in my building that were assigned to me when I [bought] this crib are now painted over with handicap and no Parking signs.” His lawyer echoed this sentiment earlier in the week, saying the spaces are clearly Brown’s and that he is taking legal action. “A person should be able to live in his or her own company of their house!” Brown adds, pleading once again for the haters to leave him alone. “I’m barely even home so these stories and accusations are so childish!”

Lesbians Who Look Like Justin Bieber refuse to accept new haircut

Hahaha, this headline totally made me laugh out loud. Thank God it’s too early for a Diet Cherry Coke or I would be cleaning my keyboard right now. From AOL.com : It’s been just over a week since teenage heartthrob Justin Bieber got the haircut that made headlines, but some fans are still in denial over the loss of his luscious, side-swept locks. At least that’s the sentiment sweeping the Bieber blog Lesbians Who Look Like Justin Bieber, which posts photographs of women — many of whom are lesbians — who happen to resemble the 17-year-old teen sensation. Now, for a blog that updates on a daily basis, you’d think there would already be several postings of female doppelgangers proudly copying Bieber’s new ‘do. Blog founder –- and fellow lesbian Bieber look-alike –- Dannielle Owens-Reid told AOL News that despite announcing Bieber’s major hair development in a post last week, she’s gotten zero photo submissions of lesbians sporting Bieber’s new, more mature haircut. This leads her to believe that lesbians who resemble the youthful, attractive singer — or at least those “Biebians” who regularly visit her blog — simply aren’t ready to accept the change in his hairstyle. Instead, they seem to be ignoring it. “I get submissions every single day. Since he cut his hair, that hasn’t changed. But I’m still getting the same amount of pictures of girls with the swoopy Justin Bieber hair, not the new style. It’s like everyone wants to ignore the new cut, just like everyone wants to ignore the fact that he’s dating Selena Gomez. It’s one of those ‘say it ain’t so’ moments,” Owens-Reid said.

Demi Lovato: Nearing Settlement with Alex Welch

As expected, it looks like Demi Lovato and Alex Welch are close to reaching a settlement. A day after the 21-year old back-up dancer told the world that Demi had yet to apologize for last month’s punch to the face, the legal action has heated up between lawyers for both parties. Soon after his client gave this interview, Don Karpel said he would file suit against the Sonny With a Chance actress “in the next seven to 10 days” for alleged assault and battery. That got the attention of Lovato’s team, spokesman Jesse Derris said: “Demi’s attorneys have had an initial discussion with Mr. Karpel. They are exploring the possibility of an amicable resolution of this matter. We do not plan on making further public comments during this process.” Without going into detail, Karpel echoed this sentiment, telling E! News : “I have engaged in discussions with Demi Lovato’s attorney. I’m fairly confident we will be able to resolve these issues.” Expect an undisclosed amount to be exchanged between the two sides in the near future.

Kevin Rudd: 3 Good Things Came Out of Copenhagen (Video)

Unless you’re a climate policy wonk or a close follower of all things global warming, here’s what you probably remember about Copenhagen: It sucked. It was a failure. Crash and Burn. In reality, it wasn’t the absolute loss that many perceive and still others claim it to be. At this year’s Clinton Global Initiative, former Prime Minister (and current Foreign Minister) of Australia Kevin Rudd articulated exactly this sentiment. And it’s a useful one to keep in mind, if only to remember that tangible progress is indeed being made to address climate change on an international level, despite what media narrative-seekers would have you bel… Read the full story on TreeHugger

Mariah Carey Superstitious

“I appreciate everyone#39;s well wishes. But I am very superstitious,” she reportedly wrote on her Web site Wednesday. “When the time is right, everyone will know – even [my publicist] Cindi Berger.” Mariah Carey isn’t sharing whether she’s pregnant or not – but she is shedding some light on why she might keep mum on the subject. Berger echoed the sentiment earlier this week after Carey was spotted leaving a steakhouse in Sao Paulo, Brazil, wearing A Pea in the Pod#39;s Spaghetti Strap Halter

Raising Water Productivity to Increase Food Security

Image credit: stevendepolo /Flickr With water shortages constraining food production growth, the world needs an effort to raise water productivity similar to the one that nearly tripled land productivity over the last half-century. Since it takes 1,000 tons of water to produce 1 ton of grain, it is not surprising that 70 percent of world water use is devoted to irrigation. Thus, raising irrigation efficiency is central to raising water productivity overall. … Read the full story on TreeHugger

GOP Walks Tightrope of Contradictions Over BP Gulf Spill (Video)

Photo via TBO The biggest splash in politics last week, at least ’round the blogoshpere and cable news circuit, was undoubtedly Representative Joe Barton’s (R-Texas) surprise apology to BP . While many conservatives supported his sentiment, many others immediately recognized the political damage it could cause, and rushed to distance themselves from the apology. The whole debacle underscores the contradiction-laden tightrope that GOP leaders must walk: The party must … Read the full story on TreeHugger

5 Musician Biopics We’d Actually Pay to See

The last time I gave musical biopics some real thought was after watching Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story , where the parody exposed that genre of filmmaking for the pretty obvious formula it is but the sentiment still stung. After all, aren’t movie tributes to musical legends supposed to be as thrilling and revealing as the entertainers themselves? The news that Mary J. Blige will play jazz vocalist and civil rights hero Nina Simone in a new biopic is welcome, since Simone’s life story isn’t known to the average filmgoer in 2010, but I think the genre could still use a tune-up. Here are five musicians or bands who would pose an exciting alternative to the rote drugs-and-redemption arc of most biopics.
