Here, Kitty: Puss in Boots Gets New Trailer, New Poster

In high school, my friend Monica would sit behind me in class and draw pictures of cockeyed old men in wizard hats with patchy chest hair and scary, idiotic grins. In the case of the new Puss In Boots poster, we get all of that unrestrained, ambiguous sexuality, but with little of the winking creepiness. It’s just creepy — the way a strutting cat with a sincere stare in jaunty boots ought to be, frankly.

Terrible Shrek-Themed Weddings are Coincidentally Happening Again, Right Now

NOOO, it has begun anew! You may remember how taunted we felt last year when, in a burst of total coincidence that came just as the Broadway musical Shrek just happened to be struggling, a whole bunch of people dressed up as the green ogre in public, including Regis Philbin and some wackadoos getting married across the Atlantic. Now, it is happening again. And I think we need to take a closer look.

Shrek suddenly finds himself in a warped and realized that he’s in an alternate-universe of Far Far Away where “Shrek” never existed. In this new universe, ogres are hunted, Lord Farquaad is still alive, Donkey is an intellectual who has never met Shrek and spends his days pulling carts, Puss in Boots is fat and lazy, and Fiona is the leader of a bunch of hunting ogres.
