Robert F. Kennedy’s daughter Kerry Kennedy was arrested for DUI in New York for allegedly being under the influence of drugs when slamming into a tractor trailer. N.Y. State Police released a statement saying they received 911 calls around 8:00 a.m. reporting a woman in a 2008 Lexus who was driving in an “erratic manner.” Officers found Kerry’s damaged car nearby, with her behind the wheel. Officers approached the vehicle and determined that Kennedy, brother of RFK Jr. and sister-in-law of the late Mary Kennedy , was under the influence of drugs. Kerry works as the president of the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights and had been mourning the May death of Mary, her best friend. According to WABC in New York, Kerry Kennedy told officers she had taken an Ambien, a powerful prescription sleeping pill … that would probably do it. The 52-year-old Kennedy, the former wife of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, was arrested and charged with driving while impaired by drugs. Her spokesman denied she had been impaired. “Kerry Kennedy voluntarily took breathalyzer, blood and urine tests – all of which showed no drugs or alcohol whatsoever in her system,” Ken Sunshine said. “The charges were filed before the test results were available.” [Photo: WENN.com]
Making good on a promise he made not even 48 hours ago, Charlie Sheen has officially quit Twitter, leaving his 7.7 million followers emotionally reeling. Fortunately, he departed with one final, inspiring Tweet: “reach for the stars everyone. dogspeed cadre. c out.” Sheen signed onto Twitter fairly recently in March 2011, after he was fired from Two and a Half Men and began lambasting his former bosses online. He has been a regular tweeter ever since, offering sage-like pearls of wisdom to the general public and plugging his new show Anger Management . It’s unclear why he decided to close up Twitter shop now, but the 47-year-old actor reportedly felt like he’s “not getting anything out of it” anymore. Sheen told TMZ today, “Thank you all for your amazing support. Trust me when I say please ‘follow’ me to my next endeavor. Just one day after it was reported that model/socialite Lydia Hearst would star as a Lindsay Lohan-like actress in Dogs in Pocketbooks comes word that Lindsay’s mother is prepping a lawsuit. “[ Dogs ] is definitely based on Lindsay’s likeness,” said Dina Lohan. “We have a very strong case. It’s shadowing E*TRADE.” The brokerage firm was sued by the Lohans after they aired a commercial featuring a baby Lindsay. For her part, Hearst is backing slowly away from this never-happening indie. “As for any theatrical roles I am currently filming Two Jacks directed by Bernard Rose,” she wrote on Twitter. “My next project is Catwalk by Tony Hickox.
