According to Deadline , she will take on Joe Biden, Cory Booker, Pete Buttigieg, Julián Castro, Tulsi Gabbard, Kamala Harris, Amy Klobuchar, Joe Sestak, Elizabeth Warren and Marianne Williamson in the national 2020 Presidential Candidate Forum on LGBTQ Issues. The forum is presented by GLAAD, The Advocate, One Iowa, and The Gazette. It will be livestreamed from Coe College’s Sinclair Auditorium in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Billy Gilman , the country artist and former contestant on The Voice , will perform the National Anthem for the event. The forum marks a historic moment, considering Ross will be the first transgender woman to host a presidential forum. This will also be the first presidential forum that will exclusively focus on LGBTQ+ issues, according to NewNowNext , especially at a moment when previous presidential debates have glossed over the subject. Ross will be joined by GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis on the stage and they will challenge the presidential candidates on pressing LGBTQ+ issues. During the forum, each candidate will have an opportunity to discuss their plan for improving queer and trans lives across America. The fact that Ross is hosting the event holds power, considering the current crisis of Black trans women being murdered at alarming rates . Just this week, The Advocate reported Ja’leyah-Jamar as the 19th trans woman to be killed this year. Eighteen of these murders have been Black trans women. Earlier this month, Bee Love Slater was another Black trans woman murdered. Her body was found burned beyond recognition, according to The Hill . Ross has consistently spoken up about trans rights and she is the founder and CEO of TransTech Social Enterprises , a trans-centered organization that helps empower folks in poverty with technical training that creates social impact and brings economic empowerment to marginalized communities. Although Ross didn’t explicitly say she would tackle trans murders at the presidential forum, she tweeted, “ I’m so READY & excited to be hosting the #LGBTQforum on Friday with @glaad, @OneIowa, @TheAdvocateMag and @gazettedotcom to ensure that presidential candidates are talking about issues important to LGBTQ voters! Stay tuned!” She also unapologetically called out presidential candidates Bernie Sanders and Beto O’Rourke , who have yet to RSVP for the event. Although, later on she learned that Sanders had prior commitments. She was on location in New York City with her daughter, Sophia, telling fans how much they were enjoying (yes, enjoying ) the trip and then, well… she mixed up the date of the attacks with the name of a well-known convenience store chain. “Okay, so we wanted to do, since it’s gonna be September 11, in honor of the Freedom Towers, and observatory deck and everything, of 7-Eleven, we are going to do this. Wow, look at this guys,” says Farrah into the camera down below. She didn’t realize her error at the time and just kept on talking in a VERY excited manner about the whole 9/11 memorial experience. “I think this is gorgeous, beautiful, and in memory of a lot of loved ones, a lot of others lost,” she says in the following video, adding: “I remember being in fifth grade when September 11 attacks happened, Sophia was not born yet, so I think it’s really important that Sophia learns about it, and here we go.” A sweet sentiment at its core, no doubt. But Farrah quickly came under for the 7-Eleven utterance and the entire entire idea of using this national tragedy as the basis for a vlog entry. S haun King and DeRay McKesson once worked closely together but had an epic falling out that played out on Twitter years ago. Like most social media feuds, it was hard to tell who was right or wrong, but people still took sides. Since then, they have rarely mentioned each other — until now. DeRay McKesson wrote a scathing and long piece on King. See Also: Michael Moore Begs Michelle Obama To Run For President: ‘She’s The One Person Who Could Crush Trump’ In a piece for Medium , McKesson goes on and on about how he trusted King, believed in his work but then noticed dismissiveness and bad communication. He then implies King stole money from Justice Together, where McKesson was a board member at one point, and said, “To date, it is not clear that Shaun filed the appropriate taxes for Justice Together, as there is no 990 form available for public review from the IRS website.” He also slammed Shaun King’s fundraising report, claiming it was not independent. McKesson also alleged he “did not ‘raise’ millions. He took credit for other people’s work… He takes credit for 100% of all funds raised for any fundraiser whose link he has ever posted online, in an e-mail blast, or re-tweeted .” McKesson also referenced the Clarissa Brooks incident, where King demanded an apology after she reportedly said that he stole or spent money that was raised for Cyntoia Brown , which King claimed he never raised money for. McKesson cites a bunch of failed projects from King. Basically, McKesson believes King is a fraud. King has been defending his name for weeks after Rihanna announced she will honor the Morehouse man at an upcoming awards ceremony. Social media went ham and demanded that she reconsider . In response, King released a 72-page report of “ every single penny I’ve ever raised since” Black Lives Matter began. The documents were compiled and authored in part by people like Tamika Mallory , Co-Chair of The Women’s March and Co-Founder of Justice League NYC and civil rights attorney Lee Merritt . The report focused on fundraisers that King promoted through his social media accounts and provided what King said was a full accounting of his financial relationship with Real Justice PAC and Action PAC along with five years of his tax returns. In addition, King said the authors of the fundraising report had unlimited access to his and his family’s checking accounts, savings accounts, credit cards, retirement accounts and money management software. “ I’ve helped raise over $34.5 million for families, charities, causes, & campaigns,” King tweeted Tuesday morning. “A 7 person expert review board inspected every penny – including the past 5 years of my tax returns. He has become our friend. He has advocated for the Jean family, spoke up for us, dried our tears and held our hands. We are grateful for his support as are many other families who have met him. Might there be hope for Meri Brown yet? Might this long-time Sister Wives cast member actually be sticking around for the long run? A new photo on her official Instagram page makes us think this may actually be case. Amid rumors of her unhappiness in her marriage to Kody Brown , the reality star took to her social media platform last week to share a new selfie of her and Aurora Brown’s fun night out at an Andy Grammer concert. Aurora, of course, is the daughter of Kody and Robyn Brown. “Super fun night at the [Andy Grammer] concert tonight with this cute thing!” Brown, the first of Kodi’s wives, captioned the snapshot, which featured herself and Aurora posing in the crowd with the stage to their backs. Why is this notable? First, as many fans pointed out, because Meri and Aurora actually look a lot alike. “Two lovely Women. She actually looks a lot like you,” one individual wrote in a comment that drew more than a dozen Likes of agreement, while another added: “She looks like you 20 years ago. So beautiful.” Secondly, though, because we keep hearing rumors that Meri is sick of her situation with Kody and sick of being on the show in general. And while these rumors may be true, it has to say something positive about Meri’s state of mind when she’s out and about with Aurora, who is not even her biological daughter. Meri and Kody share a single child together, daughter Mariah Brown. Meanwhile, Kodi shares an additional 13 children with his three other wives. Yes, 13 more children! That’s fine, I just did a little twirl and didn’t stop to check that it was straight before this photo was taken.” She doesn’t done, either. “People talk trash about my dark front tooth, that’s fine, I had fun as kid and fell and it killed it, but it didn’t kill me,” the TLC personality continued. “People will criticize my choice of outfit because they’re not comfortable with pattern mixing, but that’s ok, because I am, and I’m the one wearing this and I feel confident.” We applaud Meri for sticking it to all trolls, while we continue to wonder why she doesn’t remove herself from his unhealthy relationship. The bond she has Aurora, along with other kids in the family, likely explains a lot. This all led to people wondering why Evelyn is bringing up old stuff with Jennifer again.When Jennifer asks about being cropped out the pic, Evelyn brings up the time Jen talked about Shaniece from AGES ago. It’s been a rough few weeks for Kailyn Lowry. Between fending off David Eason’s weird trolling attempts , and shooting down rumors that she’s dating Leah Messer , the poor gal’s barely had time to mourn her recently deceased dog. Kailyn just got an adorable new pup for the family, but fans are already jumping down her throat about it. On August 28, Kailyn saddened fans on social media with the news that her beloved Rottweiler Bear had died after facing serious health issues. “I think this is by far the worst week I’ve had in a long time,” Kailyn tweeted during the ordeal. The Teen Mom 2 star’s posts included a loving tribute that showed what a central part of the family Bear had been. But it didn’t take long for Kailyn to find love again. Just over a week later, Kail returned to the web to debut the newest addition to her family, a Cane Corso named Karma. Kailyn chose to introduce the pup in a tweet with a series of cute pics and the simple caption, “Meet Karma.” It was clear Kailyn was super excited about to add Karma to the family. She even went all out with a fake gender reveal, including a pink dog bed, blanket and balloons. Look, it’s not any dumber than when we do it for people. Puppies don’t appreciate the difference between blue and pink any more or less than human babies. The point is, Karma’s a girl, and she has a lot of pink stuff because Kailyn threw her a cute little party. But fans just couldn’t let Kailyn have this one nice thing. Twitter users immediately came for the 27-year-old and her little dog too, lambasting every detail they could find a problem with. Followers took issue with where Kailyn got the dog, when she got it, and most outrageously, even the shape of Karma’s ears! As is plainly visible in the phots, Karma’s ears are cropped. The Cane Corso naturally has longer ears that flop over, but the breed often has its ears cut into a smaller, upright shape. Many fans see this as a cruel and unnatural alteration to a non-consenting animal, and they definitely let their voices be heard. “Please tell me you didn’t clip his ears,” wrote one user, who clearly missed the gender reveal. “Wtf is wrong with you,” they continued, “I’m done.” We recommend knowing at least a bit of what you’re talking about before declaring you’re “done” with an argument you started, but hey whatever. Plenty of others had equally strong opinions about the practice. “That poor baby’s ears,” observed another user in the comments thread “SMFH. Anyone who crops their dogs ears should have it done to them,” they decreed. But some other users were in Kail’s corner this time, or at the very least were advocates of canine ear clipping. “Do your research on the ear cropping of this breed,” wrote one user who came to Kail’s defense. Another commenter did just that, and even had the good sense to post their findings in the thread. A cursory google search turns informs that for the Cane Corso specifically, cropped ears are in the best interest of the dog’s health and safety. “Ok I was going to slam you for the ear cropping,” wrote the user who looked it up. “But researched it first, and I’ll be damned,” they concluded, adding an emoji of a lady shrugging. Take notes, Internet users. We should all aspire to be like this commenter. If you have an opinion, do a bit of research before you present it to the world. Of course, other users disputed this information, and pointed out that breeders are gradually leaving behind the practice of ear cropping, even in breeds where it’s traditional. And for the record, we can totally understand why so many are opposed to the process. It does change the dog’s appearance, and the animal can’t give its permission. Just like human circumcision, there’s a hot debate as to weather it’s necessary for health and hygiene, or just mutilation for the sake of tradition. For her part, Kailyn Lowry is used to getting called out online. And she’s used to defending herself too Kail wants us to know she didn’t make the call on this issue. Karma came into her life with ears already clipped. “Either way,” she wrote, “the ears were cropped before I got her, so that was out of my control.” Of course, that wasn’t enough for some fans, who pointed out that by purchasing a dog with it’s ears cropped, Kailyn is still supporting the practice. “Beautiful dog, and I have no doubt you’ll treat it well,” replied one commenter, “but buying a dog with its ears cropped should be illegal.” We’re not sure we’d go that far. If it’s truly bad for the dog, maybe the practice should be illegal. But we’d hate to see a pup miss out on a good home just because its missing a few tiny pieces. Fortunately, that’s not an issue for Karma, who looks like she settling in beautifully to her new home. The new pooch has been a hit with Kail’s kids and even her other dog, a french bulldog named Gizmo. And naturally, plenty of followers had a problem with that too, finding it callous that Kailyn got a new dog only a week after losing her last one. But Kailyn’s snappy online response to the haters asserts that Karma “is an addition, not a replacement.” Other fans argued over weather or not the Cane Corso is an appropriate breed to be around young children. Still others blasted Kail for buying anything from a breeder when there are so many dogs that need to be rescued from shelters. Unfortunately, pretty much every choice is the wrong one when you live under the microscope like Kailyn does. But we’re glad that even in these rocky times, Kailyn’s family has a new source of joy in Karma. And for Karma, we’re honestly just glad she didn’t end up as Janelle Evans’ new family pet.
