Ariana Grande to Pete Davidson: Wrote You a New Song, Loser!

Why has everything with Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson always happened so fast?! Their engagement, their breakup, the backlash from the breakup … It’s like everything has been happening in warp speed. Do they exist in some slightly different universe in which time moves at a different pace? Does being young and famous really make you wild and free enough to feel comfortable getting engaged to someone after a few seconds of dating? It’s hard to say what exactly has been going on, but boy, it sure has been a lot. As we all remember, Ariana and Pete got engaged in June after a few weeks of dating. They moved in together, they got tattoos together … like we said, it’s been a lot. Things seemed to be going great for them for a while, but last month, they suddenly split . At first, reports claimed that nothing major had happened between them, that they simply realized the timing wasn’t right. One would also imagine that the death of Mac Miller was so hard on Ariana that it must have been tough on their relationship. So it was a sort of amicable, “maybe we’ll get back together someday” kind of breakup, right? Yeah, not so much. Things took a swift turn a few days ago when Pete made a joke about Ariana in a Saturday Night Live promo. Pete Davidson Jokes About Ariana Grande Breakup Well, sort of — in the promo, he proposed to the musical guest of the week, Maggie Rogers, because he moves so fast in relationships, get it? It didn’t seem like a dig at her at all, but still, she wasn’t too happy to hear about it. “For somebody who claims to hate relevancy u sure love clinging to it huh,” she tweeted after seeing the clip. She followed that up with “Thank u, next,” which is already becoming iconic … BECAUSE THAT’S THE NAME OF HER NEW SONG AND ALBUM! Yep, Ariana just released her last album, Sweetener, in August, but she’s already working on her next one, which, as we said, will be titled Thank U, Next. And last night, just a few minutes before Saturday Night Live began airing, she released the title track. The shade, right?! In the very first verse, she name drops four of her exes, including Pete, because the girl is simply not holding back. Let’s just check it out in all its glory, OK? Here goes: Thought I’d end up with Sean / But he wasn’t a match Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now I listen and laugh Even almost got married / And for Pete, I’m so thankful Wish I could say “Thank you” to Malcolm / ‘Cause he was an angel She sang that one of those exes “taught me love,” one “taught me patience,” and another “taught me pain.” If she’s going in order, she means that Big Sean taught her love, Ricky Alvarez taught her patience, and Pete taught her pain. She could mean something different, of course, and it’s definitely possible that Mac Miller was the one who taught her pain, considering his heartbreaking addiction and subsequent death . But what’s neat about this song is that it isn’t a diss track at all. As she explains it in the lyrics, “I’ve loved and I’ve lost, but that’s not what I see / So look what I got, look what you taught me.” In the chorus, she sings “I’m so f-cking grateful for my ex,” which is really the whole vibe of this song. Well, that, and getting into another relationship now — this time, one with herself. After releasing the song, she hopped back on Twitter to discuss things with her fans, because she’s a doll like that. View Slideshow: Ariana Grande vs. Pete Davidson: Whose Side Should You Take In This Ugly Breakup? According to her, this song contains “no drags…. no shade….. just love, gratitude, acceptance, honesty, forgiveness … and growth.” We can’t wait to see what’s next from her!

Pharrell Sends That Orange Man A Cease And Desist Letter For Playing His Song “Happy” Hours After The Synagogue Shooting

Pharrell Puts A Legal Stop To Trump Playing His Music At Rallies Pharrell is not having it with Trumpito using his music to fire up his fellow “nationalists” at his rallies…ESPECIALLY after a tragic low point like this weekend’s mass shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue . Donald Trump decided to fire up Pharrell’s 2013 foot-tapper “Happy,” during a rally in the Midwest. However, it’s not too clear what he was so damn “happy” about, when it took place just a few short hours after the Tree of Life congregation shooting. Either way, Pharrell wasn’t here for it and had his attorney Howard King send a cease and desist letter the president’s way. Via The Hollywood Reporter : “On the day of the mass murder of 11 human beings at the hands of a deranged ‘nationalist,’ you played his song ‘Happy’ to a crowd at a political event in Indiana. There was nothing ‘happy’ about the tragedy inflicted upon our country on Saturday and no permission was granted for your use of this song for this purpose.” WELP. We guess Trump is going to have to rally his racist supporters some other way … Scott Dudelson/Getty Images/Michael Brochstein/SOPA Images/LightRocket via Getty Images

Leah’s Lemonade: Now we know who “Keke” Is…And It’s not Kim Kardashian

Go here to read the rest:

After several thousand in my feelings challenges later…We know who “Keke” really is. Several months after the song hit the top the charts we’ve been wondering who the mystery woman is. Well she’s letting us know her identity. Everyone and their mothers thought that Keke was Kim Kardashian, so much to the point that Kanye West was offended. If you don’t remember Kanye went on a very long social media rant about how the song was out of line and even Ye was “in his feelings” about the song. 24-year-old Oakland resident K’yanna Barber was allegedly the lady on Aubrey’s mind when he made the song. She was says she was extremely shocked by hearing the song. She says she was sitting with her mom and brothers listening to the Rapper’s latest album “Scorpion,” when she heard him say the famous line “Keke do you love me?” She said her mother immediately thought it was her. K’yanna figured there are several “Kekes” in the world, but she listened and the line that said her initials “KB” sealed the deal. According to K’yanna her and Drake have been friends for about three years.  When asked if she loved Drake the same way, he loved her she replied back “He knows how I feel.” Okayyyy Sis! If you were wondering why Nicki Minaj pulled her verse off of Tory Lanez song “Shooters” he’s clearing the air. Tory says that he merely suggested that they move some things around on her verse and apparently Nicki didn’t take too kindly to that. According to Tory after he asked Nicki to tweak some things, she snatched her verse off the song. Tory kept quiet about the whole situation until Nicki did an interview where she said Quavo asked her to change a verse and she didn’t get offended. Here’s what he said:   Want more stories?? Tracy Chapman Sues Nicki Minaj For Unauthorized Sample

Source: Stephanie Methven / WENN Tracy Chapman wasn’t that hard to find after all. The “Fast Car” singer is suing Nicki Minaj for using an unauthorized sample. Reportedly, Minaj’s people did reach out to Chapman for permission to use her song “Baby Can I Hold You” for the Queens rapper’s tune “Sorry,” featuring Nas. However, Chapman basically said, “Nah.” TMZ reports that Minaj’s reps reached out in June 2018 with multiple requests to license “Baby Can I Hold You,” which were all denied. In early August, Minaj even pinned her new album’s delay on trying to find Chapman. But then Nicki Minaj’s “Sorry,” which got nixed from the Queen album, made its way onto the radio, with Funkmaster Flex playing it on Hot 97 and The Breakfast Club also giving it a spin on Power 105. The song’s radio play, which led to the Internets grabbing the tune and reposting it online, is referenced in Chapman’s lawsuit, which seeks an order prohibiting Minaj from ever releasing the song as well as financial compensation. Looks and sounds like Chapman has Minaj dead to rights on this one. — Photo: WENN.com

Legacy: Kelis’ “Milkshake” Lives On In These Sexy Dance Clips

Read more:

Source: Photo by L. Cohen/WireImage / Getty On August 27, 2003, history was made when Kelis released a national anthem for anyone with goods to show off. “Milkshake” hit the airwaves as the lead single from Kelis’ third studio album Tasty  and it soon took off for its suggestive lyrics and catchy hook. The music video also lived up to the hype with Kelis showing her sexy side along with some very pro-dairy waiters.   When Kelis was asked what the song means by The Guardian back in 2004, she replied, “It means whatever people want it to; it was just a word we came up with on a whim, but then the song took on a life of its own.” Kelis definitely wasn’t over-exaggerating. With the help of the music video, “Milkshake” peaked at number three on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, according to Billboard , and it was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Urban/Alternative Performance in 2004. Even the people of Ireland were “warming it up” when the song shot to number one on the country’s chart. Now with #NationalChocolateMilkDay making waves on Twitter, I thought it would be a good time to celebrate all the delicious moves “Milkshake” helped inspire.   Before “twerking” became a household word or “cakes” were getting “smashed to smithereens,” there were milkshakes bringing plenty of people to the yard and till this day, the legacy lives on. Choreographer Kaelynn “KK” Harris made sure all her team’s goods were on deck when they threw down to various remixes of “Milkshake” in a sexy video…   Even fitness channels, like Hip Shake Fitness, were bringing the taste of Kelis to their routines…for better or for worse.   And if you’re wondering if the song works well for the pole, dancer  Meggan Marie and her ladies seem to make it work…   The international community also continues to show the song love with places like the Nataraja Academy in South Korea putting their own spin to the seductive song. Peep  Gangdrea ‘s choreography in the clip below….   When Kelis was asked about the song 14 years later by delish  in 2017, she replied that she’s into different things now. “People really think I’m at home making milkshakes all day,” she said. “Let’s be real — that doesn’t happen.” She continued, “I’ve got kids. I’m making smoothies for them and trying to sneak in healthy things that they’ll eat.” Despite the change of priorities for the mother, the song will continue to live on for every dairy lover and milkshaker of the future. Thank you Kelis. Your contributions won’t be forgotten.

Damn that — Balco B (@Brannin) September 26, 2018 Ella Mai so petty for having Jacquees version of Trip removed — Kee (@RavishingKee_) September 26, 2018 DJ Pain, however, pointed out that the decision to sue probably wasn’t Ella Mai’s as she’s signed to a major label that’s releasing her self-titled debut album on October 12.   People don't realize that an artist like Ella Mai, when she signs to a major label (especially the largest label on the planet, i.e. UMG), gives up her masters and therefore isn't the one making legal decisions based on who remixes/covers/reuploads her music. https://t.co/9gTlmpbI5l — DJ Pain 1 (@djpain1) September 26, 2018 Head over to Facebook and let us know your thoughts.   [ione_media_gallery src=”https://rickeysmileymorningshow.com” id=”1764915″ overlay=”true”] READ MORE STORIES ON RICKEYSMILEYMORNINGSHOW.COM : Queen Latifah On Why She Likes Challenging Roles & Rebooting ‘Living Singles’ [EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW] A Young Man Tried To Jump From Rooftop Of Downtown Atlanta Building Stream BlueFaceBally ‘Overly High’ EP FT RX Peso, Richie Souf, Dun Deal & The Remedy Production Group Follow @TheRSMS
