Happy Birthday Solàna! SZA’s Sexiest Moments

Source: Frederick M. Brown/Getty Today SZA celebrates her 28th year of life and we couldn’t let the day go by without wishing the budding superstar a happy birthday! Born in St. Louis, Missouri on November 8, 1990, Solàna Imani Rowe became the apple of America’s eye when she released her debut studio album, CTRL , last year. Debuting at number three on the U.S. Billboard 200, the critically acclaimed album took fans through a rollercoaster of emotions and really let us all in to who SZA is as a young woman…if nothing else, you walked away knowing she loves her late grandmother with everything in her. Songs like “Love Galore” featuring Travis Scott, “Garden,” and “Normal Girl” kept us singing, but everyone who’s anyone knows it was her standout track “The Weekend” that got music lovers hooked on Solàna. [ione_media_gallery src=”https://globalgrind.cassiuslife.com” id=”4241503″ overlay=”true”] She said the song isn’t about being a side chick, but women everywhere sang the song in that vain and some even criticized SZA for “glorifying” mistresses…which led to this tweet of clarification from the TDE songwriter: “My man is MY man Is YOUR man heard thts HER man too : thts 3 women ..Not two. all getting played. one opted out. No side chick .Sorry lol.” Boop! One way or another, millions of women related to the song, giving SZA her first no. 1, as “The Weekend” peaked at the top of the Hot R&B Songs chart. All in all, SZA gave us a great album and despite damage to her vocal cords, has continued to work hard and flourish. So, today we celebrate the young queen. Hit the flip for a gazillion of Solàna’s sexiest moments because—if you ain’t know—she got these boys crushin’… HARD hard.

Rami Malek Talks Bohemian Rhapsody & Why Freddie Mercury Is A Revolutionary | Extra Butter

Read the original post:

Bohemian Rhapsody is more than a Freddie Mercury biopic it’s an exploration and celebration of one of the most popular rock bands of a generation, Queen. The movie is in theaters now and one this episode of Extra Butter with Xilla Valentine , we break down the film with Rami Malek as Mercury, Gwilym Lee as Brian May , Ben Hardy as Roger Tayler and Joseph Mazzello as John Deacon . Also joining us on this episode is Lucy Boynton who plays Mary Austin , the muse and lifelong friend of Freddie Mercury. Rhapsody delivers grade a acting from everyone involved with Rami Malek being the bright spot. His performance as the legendary rock icon was spot on, from the movements to the lip syncing and the performances. I asked the guys about recreating Queen’s iconic Live Aid performance , Rami revealed that doing one song and stopping was a lot harder than the guys doing the entire Queen set. He told us, “Sometimes it would be more exhausting just to do one of the songs then take a break and do the entire concert because you’re running on so much adrenaline that is carrying you from song to song.” The film nailed the energy of the show. I watched Queen’s performance at the benefit concert and it was almost identical. It’s scary how they were able to pull it off. Rami explained he felt the similarities too, “I remember working on the entire piece when we shot it and seeing how it was similar to their performance you could feel when the adrenaline was kicking in for them as well.” One of the other highlights of the film was watching Rami and Lucy Boynton work together on screen to craft Freddie and Mary’s relationship turned friendship. To me, I felt as if, at least for the movie, Freddie felt like he owned Mary because she was his girl. Lucy explained a pivotal scene when Mary starts living for herself. Lucy really perked up when she heard my opinion of the film saying, “It’s interesting that you say, you see that in the film, I guess that is that thing of the kind of expectation you have of people. Of what they give you and do for you, so I think Freddie really relied on Mary as a staple and center point of his life. You think that such a beautiful and romantic thing until you reverse that and think about how that must of have felt on the receiving end to be seen as someone’s center point as they go off and around.” Overall Bohemian Rhapsody is a good film that celebrates Queen and delivers an award-winning performance from Rami Malek that’s worth going to the movies to see, but if you want a deep dive into the life of Freddie Mercury, as I felt like the movie could have went deeper into the life of Freddie Mercury. Bohemian Rhapsody is in theaters now.

Drake fired back relentlessly dropping diss track after diss track and created a moment in Hip Hop and a classic rap beef that’s lasted almost 4 years. Things simmered down after Drake offered words of support after while Meek was serving time in prison for probation violation, but this performance makes things official. Hopefully other popular artists follow suit and end their beefs and get back to making dope music. Hit the flip for more from Meek’s homie Michael Rubin

Babyface Says Bobby Brown Originally Hated “Don’t Be Cruel”

Source: Earl Gibson/BET / Getty There’s a lot of history between Bobby Brown and Babyface. In 1986, Bobby was on top of the world. He had just parted ways with New Edition and released his solo debut, King of Stage under MCA Records.  In 1987, Bobby began working on his second album, Don’t Be Cruel , with two young R&B songwriters and producers, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and Antonio “L.A.” Reid. Unbeknownst to the general public, he wasn’t really feeling them. We found out a little bit more about this during part one of BET’s The Bobby Brown Story . In the film, we see that Bobby Brown wants an edgier approach to music. He’s introduced to Babyface and L.A. Reid and is instantly skeptical. Their appearance nor their catalog really fit the energy Bobby was trying to achieve. Baby Face and L.A. Reid were fairly new to the scene and although they’ve reached some success of their own, Bobby Brown was skeptical that they’d be able to bring the level of success he was looking for. In fact, according to Babyface, as they worked on “Don’t Be Cruel”, the album’s lead single, he admits that Bobby Brown absolutely hated it. We spoke exclusively to Babyface who told us about his first time meeting Bobby Brown in the studio. “I think ‘Don’t Be Cruel’ might’ve been the first song we did,” said Babyface. “We were just trying to learn each other at that particular point. He didn’t love the song so it wasn’t like he was really into it. It took a little more work to get it done, I think. We got that one done and as other songs started to come in, I think he liked the other songs a little bit better.” According to The Bobby Brown Story , Bobby was very adamant about working with Teddy Riley, and he did for his new jack swing laced second single “My Prerogative.”  The track went on to earn Bobby his first number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and become the second-biggest single of 1989. In the end, all five singles from the Don’t Be Cruel  album also reached the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. Babyface wrote and/or produced 6 of the 11 songs on the album. Check out the rest of our exclusive interview with Bobby Brown up top! Don’t forget to watch the conclusion of The Bobby Brown Story tonight on BET.

Rita Ora Topless Is Pop Star Goodness

Rita Ora is killing it these days. She is now my favorite pop star and I have yet to hear one of her songs. She knows how to move me in ways that her music I’m sure would never be able to do. And for that reason, I refuse to listen to her sing because I don’t want to be turned off. I like our relationship just the way she is.
