Married at First Sight Had No Idea His Wife Was a Virgin

Keith Manley was surprised to find something out about his wife-to-be, Iris, immediately prior to exchanging vows with her on Married at First Sight. Granted, most cast members on this reality show are in for certain surprises, considering they scarcely know their significant others at all prior to taking the proverbial plunge. So perhaps it would be more apt to say Keith Manley wasn’t just in for a surprise, but a downright SHOCK. It turned out that Iris was a virgin. Lifetime viewers were made aware of this fact earlier this summer when Iris said to the camera in a confessional: “I’m a virgin. This choice was something on a religious standpoint for me. So, it’s been hard. It’s been hard for sure… It’s a big deal.” Ahead of yesterday’s new episode of the series, now aware of his wife’s statys, Keith spoke to Pop Culture about the unusual situation. “Not gonna lie, I was pretty shocked to find out Iris was a virgin,” Manley said . “I wasn’t really sure if it was a good or a bad thing, I just knew it would present a big challenge for us either way.” Manley has nothing but respect for Iris’ decision and point of view, of course. But he did express concern that the contrast in the couple’s sexual history would carry forward to their emotional relationship. “Me being someone who lost their virginity as a teenager, I thought about how different I was before I started having sex,” he explained to the website, adding: “It’s something that should be taken very seriously. It’s also something that can help you know yourself better.” Were these worries well-founded? Not really, thankfully. “It was almost strange how natural everything felt right from the start,” Keith said of how any differences in past bedroom activity turned out to be irrelevant to the tandem’s connection. Still, things aren’t perfect for the newlyweds. “Our biggest issue as a couple was probably intimacy,” he says. “We have so many things in common but our experience with intimacy is very, very different. With us being married, intimacy is one of the most important things. “I knew that I didn’t want to put too much pressure on Iris, and truthfully I wasn’t sure I was ready to take the next steps, prematurely, either.” As of this writing, we don’t know for sure whether Keith and Iris remain married; we’ll need to wait for the season finale to find out. However… “This experience has shown me there are a lot of things I have to continue getting better at to become a better man, a better husband, and eventually a good father,” he said to Pop Culture, concluding: “I have to keep getting better at expressing how I feel in a productive way, first and foremost.” Married at First Sight airs Wednesdays a 8:30 p.m. ET on Lifetime.

Kathryn Dennis, Southern Charm Star, Loses Mother at 59

Allison Calhoun Dennis, the mother of main Southern Charm cast member Kathryn Dennis, died Wednesday after an extended illness. She was 59 years old. An insider close to the veteran reality star confirmed this tragic piece of news to People Magazine this afternoon, telling the publication: “Their family requests privacy while they mourn with the sad loss. They’re very private people and they want their time to cope.” Dennis had just spoken to People in April about her mom, with whom the Bravo personality was very close. “My mom’s my best friend,” Dennis said at that time. “She stuck by me through so much. I don’t know what I would do without her. Allison had been retired after working at Santee Cooper water service. She had previously battled cancer and moved in with Kathryn during that time — and was actually a descendent of seventh U.S. Vice Prresident John C. Calhoun. “She was sick for a year and a half and I was taking care of her,” Kathryn told People this spring, adding: “She’s since been living with me, essentially. It’s great to have her around, especially because she’s so good with the kids. She’s amazing. She’s the best mom I could ever hope for with everything.” Dennis is the ex-girlfriend of former Southern Charm lead Thomas Ravenel, who quit this series last year amid accusations of sexual assault and rape. The two share two kids, a five-year old and a three-year old, with Dennis fighting hard for primary custody of these children. The fight has been ugly and challenging, however. Just last month, we learned that Ravenel hired a private investigator to look into Dennis, attempting to discredit his ex in an attempt to deny her custody claims. He previously alleged that Dennis is a drug addict who shouldn’t be trusted. Like we said above: this custody fight has been ugly and challenging. But back to Kathryn’s late mother: Funeral plans for Allison have not been announced, although the Dial-Murray Funeral Home in South Carolina has posted an obituary. Tori Roloff: Caught Drinking While Pregnant?!?

Tori Roloff has thus far managed to pull off the near-impossible. She’s reached impressive heights of popularity (over one million Instagram followers!) without ever really being involved in a controversy. Really, think about it… it’s true. You need to search far and wide and try really hard to track down any sort of scandalous situation centered on the Little People, Big World cast member. One time a few trolls tried to mom-shame Tori because they thought her son wasn’t wearing a life jacket out on the water —  but they were quickly proven wrong . Now, however, some folks think they’ve done  it. They think they’ve tracked it down. They think they’ve come across a photo that is legitimately damaging to the reality, from which they think she’ll never recover. Indeed, they think they’ve caught TORI ROLOFF DRINKING WHILE PREGNANT. And they think this because they only took a quick glance at the Instagram photo below: Here’s the thing, however: Tori may be expecting. And she may be sucking down a beverage in this snapshot.  But there’s no alcohol in it. The TLC personality shared this photo on Tuesday, but immediately shut down her potential critics and haters while doing so. “Mama drinks (hers is a mocktail, don’t worry),” wrote Tori as a caption to the image, putting an end to any sort of controversy before it can even begin. Seriously: she’s good, isn’t she? In late June, Roloff was forced to delete an Instgram post in which she wrote about her parenting philopshy after some of followers took issue with her thoughts on raising kids and spoiling them. “If you raise your kids, you get to spoil your grandkids,” the post began. “If you spoil your kids, you’ll end up raising your grandkids.” She continued at the time: “Just a thought. I really think my generation has made it more important to be their kids’ best friend and not help guide and support their kids with boundaries and structure. “I know we’re all doing the best we can, but disciplining kiddos is essential to becoming a good citizen, not a taboo. Spoil with love.” Yes, for someone as sweet and innocent as Tori Roloff, this qualified as polarizing. Tori and husband Zach confirmed in mid-May that son Jackson was on the verge of getting a sibling. They also confirmed the gender of this sibling and the time around which she is expected to arrive. “We are so excited to announce that Jackson is going to be a big brother! We can not wait to meet our sweet baby girl!” they said this spring. We’ve since learned that the baby is due around Thanksgiving. We cannot wait to meet her… and we cannot wait to stare at ridiculously adorable baby bump photos along the way. Gossip Girl Reboot: Actually Happening! On Something Called HBO Max!

XOXO? More like XOX… OH, YES! Horrible puns and forced segues aside, we now have confirmation that the previously-rumored Gossip Girl reboot is officially a go. It’s happening, Upper East Siders. It really is happening. A revamped version of this formerly beloved CW drama has been officially ordered and will air on HBO Max, the upcoming streaming service from WarnerMedia. The first season will be comprised of 10 episodes, each an hour long, and it will be written by Joshua Safran, an executive producer on the original series. Like The CW’s Gossip Girl, this new iteration will be based based on the book by Cecily von Ziegesar. Here is the HBO Max synopsis: Eight years after the original website went dark, a new generation of New York private school teens are introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl. The prestige series will address just how much social media – and the landscape of New York itself – has changed in the intervening years. Gossip Girl ran for six seasons from 2007 through 2012 on The CW, airing an astounding 121 episodes and making quasi household names out of heretofore unknown actors and actresses. As far as we know, none of these original cast members will return for the new version. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, considering Blake Lively, Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick all seemed pretty happy to be done with the show when it finally ended seven years back. Each of these stars has moved on in his or her own way as well. Lively is married to Ryan Reynolds, comprising one half of what may be Hollywood’s most attractive couple. Badgley anchors the popular Netflix drama You. Meester starred on the recently-renewed ABC sitcom Single Parents. Crawford is probably looking for work. And Westwick has been accused of rape . “No one’s ever asked me,” Meester told E! News about a return to Gossip Girl earlier this year, adding several months back: “No one’s ever talked to me about it except for in interviews and I always say the same: I never say never, so I don’t know.” “No one’s sent me that information, it’s coming from you.” HBO Max is set to launch in the spring of 2020. The platform will be the exclusive home of Friends, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Pretty Little Liars and more programs. New shows from Kaley Cuoco, Anna Kendrick and movies from Greg Berlanti and Reese Witherspoon will also live on the streaming service. Khloe Kardashian Claps Back at Mom-Shamers: I CHOOSE to Spoil My Daughter!

When it comes to fending off Internet haters, Khloe Kardashian is no shrinking violet. She’s a pro’s pro. When it’s an issue she cares about, Khloe is totally willing to defend herself and set the record straight with HER TRUTH . Khloe did just that this weekend after she came under fire from mom-shamers accusing her of spoiling her daughter True. Khloe is known for lavishing her affection on True with the sweetest presents, outfits, and parties. It may seem a little excessive, but that’s the Kardashian way.  On Saturday Khlow posted an Instagram video of True checking out her latest gift, a brand new car! Okay, so it’s not a real car. But it is pink, and sparkly, and pratty dang cute. True is now the proud owner of a toy Bently GT convertable, made by Luxury Kids Car Club. Their website describes their products as “Ultra Exclusive Cars For Kids.” Starting at $2,000, and with a ton of pricey optional features, this toy Bentley could easily cost more than a lot of people’s actual car. As the wage gap in this country soars ever onward to terrifying new heights, it makes sense that some found Khloe’s gift a bit tasteless. But this was on social media, so in lieu of respectful discussions, we get sanctimonious lectures from mom-shamers. “Great, another Kardashian in a Bentley,” wrote one angry commentor. “You are so oblivious to how your spending looks to the outside world,” the commentor went on. “I really loved your family’s story,” they added, “and now just can’t bare to watch as you spend all this money on worthless materialism.” “It’s so sad,” the commentor concluded. Khloe must have felt pretty attacked by this to respond at all, but when she did, she responded with a poise and grace she isn’t always able to muster . “Umm, you know this is not a real Bentley?” Khloe replied, “It’s a toy.” “No reason to get sad over a baby in a toy car,” she asserted. “Either way I’m sorry you feel that way,” Khloe added. Trying to keep things positive, she went on, “I hope you have a great weekend!” “Focus on things that make you happy! Smile,” she concluded, adding a smiley face emoji. The mom-shamer apparently appreciated Khloe’s tact, because their next response took a much friendlier tone. “Appreciate you responding,” they wrote, “Just figured it’s something to be thinking about.” The commentor continued, “You have so much influence and know you’ve had a positive impact on so many.” The concluded, “Always ways we can improve as people, though – myself 100% included.” Look at that newfound respect! Khloe responded once more, to share her truth about spoling her daughter. “I appreciate this message more than your first,” she began, adding that she was also able to better digest the commentor’s point. “I hear you,” she said. But she didn’t quite agree, countering “I personally don’t believe that all we do is spend money on worthless materialsim.” Khloe went on to explain that she can sleep well at night because she knows she is a good person, and “Life is all about balance.” “Yes, I do choose to spoil my daughter,” Khloe admitted, both “with love and as well as with material items.” But Khloe concluded “She will also be raised with values, responsibilities, chores, respect, self love.” It seems like Khloe knows that it’s not just about gifts with kids. There are important lessons we must pass down to our children.  But, gifts are nice too. And if you can totally spoil your child and still raise them to be a good human being, more power to you! Khloe handled this hater really well, and turned the interaction into something almost friendly. This is a great example of how we can forge new connections by responding to negativity with kindness. It doesn’t always work, and it’s important to recognize those moments too when they come up. Jenelle Evans lost her kids for several weeks this spring/summer after authorities determined she and husband David Eason were raising them in an unsafe environment. But one thing the former Teen Mom star never lost, somehow, was her faith in Eason. Yes, he probably beat her up in October of 2018. Yes, he killed their family dog, triggering this latest child custody case. And, yes, he's a close-minded and violent bigot with a serious temper problem and, by all accounts, not an empahetic bone in his body. Given all of these facts and factors, did Evans ever truly consider a divorce? The reality star answered this question, and many more, in a brand new Instagram Q&A… 1. Holy Hell, Why Is She Talking?!? Jenelle does not know when to shut up. That much has been certain for a very long time now. Joy-Anna Duggar Has Suffered a Miscarriage

Heartbreaking news today from two members of the Duggar family. In a lengthy and understandably emotional Instagram post, Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth have alerted fans to the following: They’ve lost their baby. Along with the photo above, this is what the couple wrote on its official social media page late Wednesday night: Today marks one week since we heard these words… “So this is your baby’s heart (pointing to the ultrasound screen). I don’t hear a heartbeat or see any movement.” Duggar and Forsyth had announced they were expecting their second child back on May 1, joining a long line of loved ones who were pregnant and looking forward to welcoming a baby later this year. “Our favorite math is addition and we are very excited to share that the Forsyth family is adding a member!” the Counting On stars said at the time, adding: “Marriage and being a mom and dad to Gideon has already far exceeded our expectations. “We are looking forward to loving another little one and seeing what special dynamic he or she brings to our family. Table for 4 sounds perfect!” The couple is already parents to a boy named Gideon. They got married in May of 2017 and Joy-Anna said this spring that she was due in 2019. Tragically, however, this is no longer the case. We had gone in for our 20-week ultrasound and gender reveal. It was a baby girl, they revealed in this new Instagram message , continuing as follows: Although we don’t understand why, God has given us unexplainable peace and comfort during this very difficult time. Yes, it still hurts and we have cried countless tears, but we know that we can trust the Lord. In the words of King David after the loss of his baby, “I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me” (2 Sam 12:23). We don’t grieve as those who have no hope because we trust that we will see this little one again. One in four women suffer a miscarriage. But it’s unusual for this to happen after five months of a pregnancy. We truly cannot imagine what Joy-Anna, who had been excitedly showing off her baby bump , is feeling right now. To conclude their post, she and Austin confirmed the name of their late daughter and wrote: We named her Annabell Elise. Annabell means “God has favored me”, and Elise means “God satisfies”. What a precious thing to know that when our daughter opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was the face of Jesus. Please pray for continued healing, not only physically but for our hearts as well. Joy-Anna wrapped the post with this quote by Fanny Crosby: All the way my Savior leads me; What have I to ask beside? Can I doubt His tender mercy, Who through life has been my Guide? Heavenly peace, divinest comfort, Here by faith in Him to dwell! For I know, whatever befall me, Jesus doeth all things well, For I know, whatever befall me, Jesus doeth all things well. The miscarriage comes less than a month after grandma Mary Duggar’s death, and it also comes while a numner of other Duggars are expecting. Josh and Anna have announced a sixth child is on the way, while Joseph and Kendra are expecting … and so are Josiah and Lauren. Cousin Amy Duggar is also pregnant with her first child. All focus right now is on Joy-Anna and Austin, however. “We were so sad to hear that Joy and Austin’s baby girl passed away mid-way through their pregnancy,” Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar wrote on Instagram in response to this news, adding: “The pain of losing a child is unimaginable. Yet, for the one whose hope is in God, there is a peace that surpasses our finite understanding. “We pray that God will comfort Joy and Austin and carry them through this difficult time.” Wrote Jessa Seewald, who welcomed a daughter this past May: “@AustinandJoyforsyth our hearts are breaking over your loss. “Such beautiful words you’ve written in your post. Rather than splurging on pricey leave-in conditioners and salon treatments (which can be worth it every now and then), the Traffik star swears by a brand for her curls that she buys right at the grocery store. “It’s a 10!,” Patton exclaimed at the Moschino 2020 Spring/Summer Resort fashion show in Universal City, Calif. when we asked her about the products that give her natural curly hair a boost. “You can get it at the grocery store,” she continued with a laugh. As for which products she uses from the collection, the actress said she swears by “the leave in spray. I love that.” She continued, “I use the shampoo, conditioner, and that spritz, with a little bit of shine oil.”
