Dennis Smith Jr. & Under Armour Bless Fayetville, NC With Some Newly Refurbished Basketball Courts

Source: Under Armour / Under Armour The New York Knick’s Dennis Smith Jr . might’ve struck out at the 2019 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, but the hoopers in his old stomping grounds of Fayetteville, NC were still winners at the end of NBA All-Star Weekend. In conjunction with Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks & Recreation, Dennis Smith Jr. and Under Armour went to DSJ’s hometown and treated the city to a carnival-style celebration as part of the unveiling of two refurbished basketball courts at the Smith Recreation Center. Seabrook Park at Smith Recreation Center is where Dennis grew up learning and growing his unique brand of basketball. Countless hours spent on these courts molded Dennis into the athlete he’s become – in his never ending pursuit of getting better. Now, with Under Armour, Dennis has the opportunity to pay it back and pave a way forward for the next generation of Fayetteville dreamers, helping to completely refurbish and revitalize the two courts he grew up playing on. And now he’s made it possible for someone else from his old home to follow in his footsteps and make their way to the NBA. Much props to Dennis Smith Jr, Under Armour and the Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks & Recreation for giving this to the community. Check out pics below. Watch what you say in front of the mirror. It looks like our favorite homicidal urban legend will soon be back on the big screen. Word is Lakeith Stanfield is in talks to star in Candyman . Produced by Jordan Peele the film is said to be a sequel to the 1992 horror classic. Based on Clive Barker’s  The Forbidden short story, the original follows a female student researching urban legends. Her work leads her to the ghost of an artist and son of a slave who was murdered in the late-19th century called Candyman. Screen Rant is reporting that Stanfield will play Anthony, an artist researching the gory myth who eventually summons the killer spirit. His name seems very purposeful as the original protagonist Helen escapes Candyman’s trap with a baby named Anthony in the final scene. Whether or not his role indicates he is indeed the infant has yet to be confirmed. If casted the booking should not come as a surprise considering that Stanfield has worked with Peele previously in the horror comedy satire hit Get Out . Candyman  went on to become a cult classic spawning two sequels including Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh (1995) and Candyman: Day of the Dead (1999). You can view the trailer to the original below. Smh: Another White Person Felt Safe Using The N-Word Around Black People & Chaos Ensues

Source: Karsten Jipp / EyeEm / Getty I don’t know what it is about public transportation that brings out the boldness in racist White people, but another one tried their luck by using the N-word around Black folks. Some of us might remember how things like this end when rapper Princess Nokia threw her afternoon lunch at a New York subway racist last year . Now, a Chicago bigot was on the receiving end of Black fury. According to WGN 9 , a White man was arguing with passengers at a train stop and eventually the N-word is thrown around. A Black guy then removes his shirt and glasses, which is never a good sign for a bigot, and eventually he punches the White guy causing him to land on the edge of the track. The Black guy then hits the White guy again, nearly sending him into the train tracks. Eventually, other passengers intervene. According to a witness , the man who was punched used several racial slurs before the violent scene. The video has since gone viral with over 2 million views. Check it out for yourself below.
