Source: Eduardo Munoz Alvarez / Getty Michael Cohen Will Reportedly Testify Against Donald Trump Donald Trump ‘s former lawyer, Michael Cohen , may just be the smoking gun we need to get the 72-year-old toddler out of here. Cohen pled guilty to eight federal crimes back in August, including tax evasion, and one count of lying to Congress in November—and now, he’s reportedly headed back to court to accuse the president of crimes while in office. From Rawstory : “The former Trump Organization attorney will reveal to the House Oversight Committee some of the president’s private financial statements and accuse Trump of manipulating the value of his net worth for business and personal reasons, such as avoiding taxes on his property, reported the Wall Street Journal . The financial statements were created by the president’s accountant, and Cohen is expected to testify that he personally witnessed ‘lies, racism and cheating’ by Trump.” Additionally, Rawstory reports Cohen is expected to describe “racist remarks Trump made to him, such as questioning the intelligence of black Americans and criticizing their lifestyles.” Cohen’s testimony is expected to specifically provide evidence of Trump’s criminal conduct since taking office as president, although “a source told the newspaper only that the testimony would cover a hush money payment to Stephanie Clifford, also known as Stormy Daniels.” Stay tuned as we continue with updates.
Source: Rita Maas / Getty The Government Shutdown Could Keep You From Getting A Tax Refund If you thought the government shutdown wouldn’t affect your daily life, it might be time to think again. As the partial shutdown approaches its two-week point, concerns are growing that a heavily impacted IRS will delay taxpayers’ getting their refunds . The agency has categorized issuing tax refunds as a “non-excepted” activity — meaning that those tasked with processing refunds would be furloughed during their shutdown. Meanwhile, several types of tax return processing were deemed “Necessary for the Safety of Human Life or Protection of Government Property.” That’s according to a December shutdown plan, which lays out the first five business days of the agency’s response during a shutdown occurring outside of tax season. While the document notes the plan can be reassessed and furloughed employees can be recalled, The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday that the IRS generally does not issue refunds during a shutdown. The IRS plan says that only 12.5 percent of the IRS workforce is authorized to work during a shutdown, while the rest of the agency faces furloughs. That plan could be revised as soon as Friday, as the agency shifts into tax season, which typically starts in mid-January. Budget negotiations to reopen the government have stalled over President Donald Trump’s demand for funding a border wall, which means the risk is growing that tax refunds could be delayed if these aforementioned IRS workers don’t return to work soon.

Source: Supplied by WENN.com / WENN Near the top of the year, Apple announced it was hopping into the wide-open streaming market and introduced a list of original programming. Among them was a series from Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine titled Vital Signs , but Apple’s boss Tim Cook has decided not to go forward with the show for a variety of reasons. According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, Cook was put off by several scenes of violence, drug use, and sex scenes, including orgies, and despite Dre’s efforts to tone down the content, it wasn’t good enough. Deadline adds in its reporting : Cook personally decided against moving forward on it, opting to lead Apple’s proposed content services in a direction different from its competition and toward less-edgy content. The WSJ said the decision was made because Apple was afraid to jeopardize its consumer products sales, an issue not faced by streamers like Netflix and Amazon. The WSJ also reported that a show featuring Resse Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston was also toned down. Apple also backed off from a Whitney Cummings show about the #MeToo movement (“too sensitive a topic”) and asked director M. Night Shyamalan to remove crucifixes from characters’ homes in his psychological thriller because of fears of alienating religious viewers. It appears that Apple is doing a massive internal creative overhaul after it was slated to debate the service later this year. It has now been moved to debut around March 2019. — Photo: WENN
You know how Donald Trump allegedly had a months-long affair with a porn star and then paid $130,000 for her silence with campaign money? That porn star is sitting down for an interview. Right now, we just have the teaser video (below). But based on her facial expression when she's asked if she ever banged Trump, we're in for a wild ride. “Did you have a sexual relationship with Donald Trump?” the Inside Edition interviewer asks. Stormy Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, tries to keep a straight face. Her face cracks, revealing a smirk. She doesn't say anything to that in this clip, but does acknowledge that it's common knowledge that the two of them at least met each other. You know, through their business relationship. They do, after all, appear in photographs together. According to a report from The Wall Street Journal , Donald Trump and the porn star who worked under the title, “Stormy Daniels,” had sex at least once back in 2006. This would have been shortly after the birth of his son, Barron, and not long at all after he married his wife, Melania. What was truly explosive about this was that it appeared that Trump, through one of his lawyers, paid Stormy Daniels $130,000 in exchange for her signing a non-disclosure agreement in 2016, just months before that fateful 2016 election that we all wish that we could somehow forget. ” Saturday Night Live is my favorite show of all time,” she says. That's … quite something. Most people watch it (or at least clips of it), and though I have friends who've attended live shows and I've watched it since I was a kid, I never quite imagined it being a person's favorite show. “You were portrayed on [Weekend Update]. What was that like?” She says that being portrayed was “terrifying,” for one good reason: “Because I love SNL and I have a little crush on him. On Colin.” Doesn't everyone? (We're not getting into the is Colin Jost or Pete Davidson hotter debate here) She admits that it would make her feel bad if Colin Jost were to say something mean about her during Weekend Update. We imagine that she was relieved. Her portrayal did little to make fun of Stormy herself and mostly served as an indictment of people who elected Trump and of those who are more fascinated with salacious scandals than they are with actual issues like national security and treason. She admits that she “giggled” while watching. We'd hate to see people give Stormy Daniels a hard time over being a sex worker. if anything, though we may not share her political beliefs (she's a Sarah Palin fan, of all things), this woman deserves our sympathies. After all, she possesses unenviable knowledge of what Trump's penis looks like . The alleged affair between Stormy Daniels and Donald Trump featured “generic” sex , and reportedly lasted the better part of a year. Many are hopeful that this Inside Edition will reveal hints, even if Stormy Daniels is still bound by the NDA that she signed, about Trump's infidelities and personal opinions. (Beyond the fact that he's apparently terrified of sharks, and beyond the story about him wanting to be spanked with a Forbes … the world's worst product-placement for Forbes but actually a boon to shark preservation charities) But it's important that we not lose focus. This is a detail relevant to Trump's marriage and hypocrisy and the hypocrisy of his “family values” supporters. This is not relevant to Trump's total inability to govern or his incompetence or his monstrous personality. For that, see … everything else about him, ever. That said, it's still an entertaining story, and we hope that you enjoy this clip:
Of the various famous men accused of being sex monsters in recent months, many have been more famous but arguably none have been as influential as Steve Wynn. He’s a billionaire. He’s an outspoken conservative and the finance chair for the Republican National Committee. He’s a Las Vegas casino mogul. And, according to dozens of accusers, his pattern of alleged sexual misconduct goes back for decades . The Wall Street Journal reports that billionaire Steve Wynn has engaged in behaviors for years and years that create a working culture of sexual harassment. According to dozens of current and former employees of Wynn Resorts, Steve Wynn’s demands for sex from female employees came under the guise of manicures, makeup applications, and massages that were performed privately in his offices. It is there that these numerous sources say that Steve Wynn would exert pressure upon these women to engage in sex acts at his behest. The Wall Street Journal describes employees conspiring to invent fake appointments that various female coworkers might have so that they could avoid spending time alone in their CEO’s office. One woman recounted her story in which she alleges that Wynn forced her to have sex. While working as a manicurist at Wynn’s flagship casino in 2005, she says that Wynn pressured her to remove her clothing. She says that he then relentlessly pressured her to lie naked on the massage table in his office. The Wall Street Journal spoke to coworkers of hers who remember her returning to where they were, looking visibly shaken and upset, immediately after the alleged incident. That sounds like a horrifying abuse of power. The Wall Street Journal says that they were the ones who reached out to employees, not the other way around. They spoke to over 150 current and former employees in order to hear personal accounts and seek confirmation from others. We can only guess which stories they may have heard but were unable to confirm. Citing Steve Wynn’s powerful influence throughout the Las Vegas strip, most of the employees who spoke were hesitant to speak on the record, worrying that it could hurt their careers. At least one previous alleged incident with a manicurist led to a lawsuit and payout of $7.5 million. All in all, the culture described by the report is one in which some female employees would hide in the bathroom if they knew that Steve Wynn was in the building. In response to these allegations, Wynn’s company issued a lengthy statement. Interestingly, both he and his company seem to believe that this report is part of a conspiracy by his two-time ex-wife, Elain Wynn (1963-1986, 1991-2010). “The recent allegations about Mr. Wynn reflect allegations made in court hearings by Mr. Wynn’s ex-wife, Elaine Wynn.” That’s part of a statement by Wynn Resorts, which also says: “It is clear that Mr. Wynn’s ex-wife has sought to use a negative public relations campaign to achieve what she has been unable to do in the courtroom: tarnish the reputation of Mr. Wynn in an attempt to pressure a revised divorce settlement from him.” The statement also iterates that Wynn Resorts is committed to a safe workplace. Additionally, Wynn himself says that “the idea that I ever assaulted any woman is preposterous.” We don’t know what Steve Wynn’s wife Andrea Wynn (formerly Andrea Hissom) thinks of all of this, but we do know what stockholders think. Shares in Wynn Resorts fell by 5% … and then it was 8% … and then 9%. The presentation of these accusations as a smear campaign is curious, as one would imagine that it would require enlisting over 150 accomplices and also hoodwinking The Wall Street Journal , a notoriously conservative news outlet that one would imagine would take extra care when accusing one of the nation’s wealthiest Republicans. It is difficult to gauge what the fallout from this will be for Wynn, professionally. Las Vegas is not Hollywood. Perhaps only time will tell if he’ll be ousted from any of his many, many business and political interests. View Slideshow: Hollywood Sex Scandal: Who’s Been Caught? Accused? Fired?
13 Reasons Why is a breakout hit for Netflix. The streaming network never goes public with download numbers for its programs, but it came out last week that the drama has been the most Tweeted-about series of 2017. In this day and age, there’s nearly no better metric with which to measure success. But 13 Reasons Why has been making headlines ever since its March 31 release for reasons aside from hashtags and social media mentions. The series has raised numerous red flags for mental health experts, many of whom believe it sends a potentially dangerous message about teenage suicide. In short, the show centers around a high school student named Hannah. We find out almost immediately that she’s killed herself, although she still narrates the entire first season because Hannah recorded 13 tapes prior to slitting her wrists, each of which calls out certain individuals at her high school for how they treated her. And, therefore, how each contributed to her decision to take her own life. The drama (co-produced by Selena Gomez ) is meant to leave a strong impact on its viewers, touching on such topics as bullying, sexual assault and underage drinking. Netflix makes it clear, via a special message, at the outset of various episodes that the upcoming content is graphic and mature in nature. But this isn’t enough for some institutions and some doctors. A handful of middle schools and high schools have sent letters home, urging parents to not allow their children to watch 13 Reasons Why without adult supervision. “Suicide is a tough issue to talk about,” says Dr. Christina Conolly, who works for Maryland’s Montgomery County School District, where she helped write a letter that states “adolescents watching without an adult … could be at increased risk of self-harm.” Dr. Conolly doesn’t necessarily call out 13 Reasons Why for any of its storylines, simply saying in general: “Watching a suicide or knowing someone who has died by suicide can lead others to completing a suicide themselves.” The National Association of School Psychologists agrees, declaring in its own statement: “We do not recommend that vulnerable youth, especially those who have any degree of suicidal ideation, watch this series.” More specifically, some in the professional field question why the show never really brings up the topic of mental health in general, while also finding fault with the way in which it paints suicide as a form of revenge. They also have a major problem with how a guidance counselor appears to blame Hannah for having been raped by a fellow student. It’s this conversation, Hannah herself says in one of her audio tapes, that serves as the final nail in her tragic coffin. In the upstate New York community of Grand Island, school administrators warned that the series “sensationalizes suicide.” Indiana’s largest school district warned in an email that the series “does not accurately model what we would want or hope individuals do if they are struggling or in crisis.” 13 Reasons Why is based on a 2007 novel by the same name. But the TV version takes many liberties, veering far off the original script at times and expanding on many developments and character arcs. Gomez, who has talked openly about her own emotional struggles over the years, said she was braced for a backlash upon agreeing to produce the drama. “It’s going to come no matter what. It’s not an easy subject to talk about. But I’m very fortunate with how it’s doing,” she has said. Brian Yorkey, who won a Tony Award and a Pulitzer Prize for the musical Next to Normal, was one of the main writers on 13 Reasons Why. He disagrees with the critics who think the show paints suicide in any sort of positive or glamorous light. “Many people are accusing the show of glamorizing suicide and I feel strongly – and I think everyone who made the show – feel very strongly that we did the exact opposite,” he says, adding: What we did was portray suicide and we portrayed it as very ugly and very damaging.” View Slideshow: 21 Stars Who Committed Suicide According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, suicide is the second-leading cause of death among American teens between the ages of 15 to 19. It’s a real issue, one that those behind 13 Reasons Why say they have taken as seriously as possible. Asked about troubled teens and their possible response to what they see on screen, including a graphic depiction of Hannah killing herself, Gomez says: “They have to see something that’s going to shake them. This show is as real as it can possibly get.”
If you’re a celebrity, it’s not generally not a good thing if your finances are in the news. Sure, there’s the occasional story about a record-breaking payday for an actor or athlete, but generally, when the whole world is talking about your bank account, it’s because they can’t fathom how someone who started with so much wound up with so little. For the past few months, rumors that Johnny Depp is broke have been circulating in the tabloids and on social media. It’s almost impossible to imagine Depp being anything other than fabulously wealthy, what with his decades A-list star and essential role in popularizing one of Hollywood’s longest-running franchises, but the rumors of his penury come from a reliable source – namely, court documents in a pair of increasingly ugly lawsuits. Back in February, Depp sued his management group (the imaginatively-titled The Management Group), accusing them of mishandling his funds and failing to alert him that he was on the verge of bankruptcy. TMG counter-sued, alleging that Depp’s public complaints were damaging their brand, and accusing the actor of spending himself into relative poverty. The group cited such lavish expenditures as a $30,000 a month wine budget and Depp’s decision to spend $3 million on a custom ash cannon to fire the remains of his friend Hunter S. Thompson into the atmosphere. Hilariously, Depp corrected that figure in a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal – explaining that the cannon actually cost $5 million. But while Depp was occasionally self-deprecating in the interview, he spent much of it going off on the firm that he blames for his dire financial straits. “Why didn’t they drop me as a client if I was so out of control?” Depp told the paper. “I’ve worked very, very hard for a lot of years and trusted a lot of people, some who’ve clearly let me down.” TMG is now firing back, using Depp’s own words against him in a statement issued to USA Today: The firm calls Depp “habitual liar who denies responsibility for his own outrageous conduct and coerces others to lie for him.” “Johnny Depp and his sister were involved in every significant business decision during the 17 years TMG represented him,” the statement said. “Depp now admits to his extravagant spending but blames TMG for not dropping him as a client.” Depp has yet to respond to the comments, and it’s likely that he’ll simply let his lawyers do the talking for him. Whatever the case, this situation seems to be on the verge of getting even more vitriolic.

According to NY Daily News reports : Vladimir Krull, a 12-year NYPD veteran assigned to the Midtown North precinct, started his abuse of the teen in September 2013, when he kissed her on the mouth, prosecutors said. The jury found him guilty of having sex with her twice — in her home and in his car — and of making her perform a sex act on him in his car after a June 2014. He faces up to seven years behind bars for each incident, and regardless of his sentence, the felony conviction means he’ll be booted from the police force. Krull was ordered held without bail until he’s sentenced on March 6. The New York Police Department said Mr. Krull had been suspended pending termination since then. He was fired on Monday, according to a spokeswoman for the Bronx district attorney. Crazy story right? Crazier still when you consider details from the Wall Street Journal that Krull dated the girl’s mother for two years! Ladies PLEASE be mindful who you trust around your kids!!! Facebook
