Mindy McCready Says Son Stops Her From Offing Herself

Mindy McCready is an odd one. In her latest eye-opening public statement, she said that her son Zander is really the only thing stopping her from offing herself. In an interview with ABC’s 20/20 , McCready said the boy “saved my life.” “Every time I wanted to let go and give in, I remember what he did for me,” said McCready, who has attempted suicide at least once. “He is my little angel.” McCready’s previous efforts at suicide and substance abuse are the reasons she no longer has custody of Zander – and feuds with her mother, who does. Mindy and Zander were recently the subject of an interstate manhunt after she allegedly took off with him during a visitation. He is now in foster care. The troubled country singer says that her mom, Gayle Inge, believes herself to be a prophet from God – not exactly a good influence on young Zander. Also, “They see dead people in their home all the time – spirits, demons, ghosts,” explained McCready, who is pregnant again with twins as we speak. McCready also contends Inge has spanked Zander with a wooden spoon hard enough to leave scars. Inge denies the allegation. Until Round 293 …

Mischa Barton Tries To Stay Relevant via Tyler Shields Steak to the Face of the Day

I used to rip into Tyler Shields for being a hack of a photographer who just managed to have the right celebrity friends that propelled him into photographer celebrity….but then I spoke to someone who knows him and she assures me that he’s not some try hard, full of shit, obvious attempt at shocking concept with celebrity pussy like he was the next Terry Richardson with less vision….and even if he was, who cares, cuz I’m the fucker writing about his work…adding fuel to the fire that is his hype…. That said, he recruited Mischa Barton, which must have been hard, you know with her busy schedule, substance abuse, sanity….but I have a funny feeling she’s the one who sought him out…to get these pics of steak on her face, in a photo series that I call “I shoulda been Tyler Shields, I’m clever enough to make shocking pictures, if only I didn’t alienate myself”…. Here she is…

Kim Delaney Tries, Fails to Honor Robert Gates; Escorted Off Stage During Speech

Army Wives star Kim Delaney had to be escorted off the stage at an event honoring former U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates in Philadelphia, Pa. Three former U.S. presidents made video tributes at the event and several high ranking U.S. officials were present, along with celebs such as Delaney. Point being, it was a big deal, making this moment even more bizarre: Kim Delaney Gives Rambling ‘Speech’ The actress began slurring, stammering and stalling her way through a speech that can best be described as … unusual. That’s the best description. Yeah. Awkward. Delaney has had issues with substance abuse in the past, but it’s unclear just what caused Kim’s bizarre behavior this time around. All that’s missing from the above clip was this guy. Play her off, buddy … Keyboard Cat!

‘Real Life is Kind of Hard For Me’: A Candid Nick Nolte on Falling Off the Wagon For Warrior

After a career in Hollywood that has spanned four decades, two Oscar nominations, three wives and one notoriously bad mug shot — Nick Nolte returns to the big screen this Friday with his most personal role yet: that of a former alcoholic who desperately seeks forgiveness from his mixed martial arts-fighter family (Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton) in Gavin O’C onnor’s Warrior . During the film’s press day last month, both O’C onnor and Nolte confessed that the struggles of Nolte’s character Paddy O’C onnor were based largely on the actor’s own cycle of substance abuse, sobriety and redemption-seeking — a cycle that sadly continued while the pair filmed Warrior in and around Pittsburgh last year. Last month, the 70-year-old actor met with Movieline to discuss his R-rated Warrior adventures, his unlikely handgun crusade and the secret to playing a good, chain-restaurant-obsessed gorilla.

Jane Lynch Happy Accidents

Referring to her attempt to get clean 1991, Jane Lynch writes in her upcoming memoir, Happy Accidents: “I found myself eating about a gallon of chocolate ice cream daily to replace the copious amounts of sugar my body was used to from my daily beer intake.” She provides constant snark and humor on Glee, but the life of Jane Lynch was not always filled with laughter. Just how far did the actress fall during her days of substance abuse? Lynch didn#39;t stop there, either: She writes of her “ha

Corey Feldman Says Pedophilia "#1 Problem" in Hollywood, Contributed to Corey Haim’s Death

According to Corey Feldman, former child star and best friend of the late Corey Haim, child molestation has run rampant in the entertainment industry. “The No. 1 problem in Hollywood was and is and always will be pedophilia,” he said Wednesday, adding that the “casting couch” exists for children, too. He and Haim were no exceptions to that disturbing trend, Feldman says. Two Coreys: Feldman, left, and the late Haim . Feldman asserted in an interview that directors and other adults in the industry take advantage of young aspiring actors on a regular basis. “It’s all done under the radar… But it’s the big secret,” he said . Feldman also claimed that former co-star Corey Haim’s death last year was the end result of early sexual abuse by an unnamed “Hollywood mogul.” The 40-year-old said that his friend’s long-running battle with substance abuse and addiction was “a symptom” of the molestation he experienced. The actor has said that he was raped by his assistant as a child. “It’s something that will be addressed in my inner soul for the rest of my life, and it’s something that truly affects me,” he told GQ magazine.

Mary J. Blige’s Admission Reboots The Conversation On Molestation & Addiction

Many victims never come out of the downward spiral of addiction. Amy Winehouse’s Death Makes Us Think About Helping The Addicts In Our Lives Victims of rape or sexual assault may turn to alcohol or other substance s in an attempt to relieve their emotional suffering. In the U.S., victims of sexual assault report higher levels of psychological distress and the consumption of alcohol than non-victims, in part, to self-medicate. Some victims use substances to cope with the reality of what happened to them or to cope with the symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, a common reaction to an extreme situation like sexual assault. However, it is not a healthy way to deal with the trauma of sexual assault and can cause additional problems, such as addiction or dependence, that hinder the healing process. Survivors of sexual assault or sexual abuse in childhood may abuse drugs to help them “numb out” and push away the painful memories of sexual violence. Victims may also turn to drugs instead of true recovery resources, such as counseling; they may not think that friends or family will understand them, they may not know where to access recovery resources, or they may be embarrassed to talk about what happened. When compared to non-victims, rape survivors are 3.4 times more likely to use marijuana, 6 times more likely to use cocaine, and 10 times more likely to use other major drugs. It may be helpful for a survivor to share their experiences and concerns with a qualified service provider (i.e. counselor or psychologist). A general physician can suggest community resources as well as prescribe medications to control cravings and withdrawal symptoms while the user seeks further help. Are You An Emotional Eater? Lindsay Lohan Finds Tranquility in House Arrest

If you thought Lindsay Lohan would be bouncing off the walls and itching to get out while under house arrest , you thought wrong. She is loving it! Well, maybe not loving . But she’s making the best of it. The actress is using the time confined at her (beachfront) home to relax and reflect, reading screenplays and painting and entertaining friends. Sounds pretty brutal, we know, but at least time away from the rat race will help Lindsay, and that ankle monitor incident was a false alarm. Lohan swears her court days have come to an end. Lindsay took to Twitter on Friday to share the benefits of house arrest, posting pics of visitors and writing, “Loving good music on a sunny day!” Due to jail overcrowding, the star will serve about a month in her Venice, Calif., condo after pleading no contest to misdemeanor grand theft. Not bad for a 180-day jail sentence. Go legal system!
