Pope Francis has once again broken from tradition. The religious figure, who shocked many last month when he said he would not pass judgment on homosexuals , posed this week for what many consider to be the first-ever pontiff selfie. The head of the Catholic Church followed the lead of a few Vatican visitors who turned their camera phone on themselves and then posted the picture on Twitter. As you can imagine, the image has gone more viral than a multiple-person pool alley-oop . Check it out here: Pope Francis Selfie

Anyone who thinks models don’t work hard, think again. Kate Upton made history with her latest Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover as the first to grace it two straight years since Tyra Banks in 1996-97. Boy did she have to earn it in Antarctica, though. Kate Upton Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue Cover Shoot “It was definitely the hardest shoot I’ve ever done,” she says. “The best as well … Antarctica is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to.” “But I’m from Florida, so it was pretty painful. I was very surprised by the news that that’s where my shoot was going to be located,’’ she recalled. Kate Upton joked that it took her two months to thaw out. “When I came back I was losing hearing and eyesight because my body was shutting down,” she said. “It was working so hard to keep me warm.” Hey, at least the resulting Kate Upton bikini photos will help keep others warm. That must mean something, doesn’t it? She’s a real humanitarian. “It was an accomplishment just to get through the shoot… I didn’t even think about the possibility of being the cover until after I thawed out a bit!” Kate adds. “But now it’s like, wow … I actually went down there and was able to accomplish that.” Planning for the shoot took about three years due to costs and scheduling, making it the first-ever fashion shoot that has taken place in Antarctica. “Everything about the picture is perfect,” SI editor MJ Day said, “First of all, it’s cold, even though we were there in summer. The wind chill was sub-zero.” “The elements are really working against you.” “She never complained. She’d just say, ‘Okay, let’s do it again.’ I knew if I needed to bury someone in clothing, I needed her physique and curves to come through.” You see, ladies? Curves are awesome. It may not reveal the whereabouts of Christopher Dorner , but – as one law enforcement source says – we now know what the alleged killer “was up to” days before he went on a killing spree last week. TMZ has uncovered surveillance from a Southern California sporting goods store that shows the ex-LAPD officer purchasing an assortment of Scuba equipment . Christopher Dorner Surveilliance Video Taken on February 1, the video depicts Dorner paying for a couple Scuba tanks and refilling them with Oxygen. He’s also laughing with the cashier. Two days after this interaction, the bodies of Dorner’s first two victims were found in Los Angeles. A $1 million reward has now been offered by police for information that leads to the arrest of Dorner, who is on the loose and who left Facebook messages that threatened both his former colleagues and their families. He believes he was unfairly fired from the police department in 2008. U.S. Marshals now have a copy of this surveillance footage, which is of interest because Dorner reportedly tried to steal a boat on February 6. But the scheme was abandoned when his prop got tangled in a rope.
The Golden State Warriors, 30-21 and holding the sixth seed in the Western Conference, will soon be embarking on a new fashion trend. The team announced yesterday that it would become the first squad in NBA history to don short sleeve jerseys during play, unveiling the look that Draymond Green and company will wear for a trio of upcoming home games. Provided by Adidas, the jerseys feature “the first-ever super lightweight stretch woven short with maximum ventilation for player comfort,” according to that company. The tops also include armhole insets with 360-degree stretch fabric that “facilitates free range of motion for the arms and shoulders.” Will this trend catch on in the NBA? Should it? What do you think of the short sleeve jerseys? Love em! Hate em! Can they shoot in those things?!? Kim Zolciak is cashing in on young Kash Kade. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star is featured in the latest Life & Style , cradling her newborn son and dishing on becoming a mother for the fourth time. “It was the easiest pregnancy out of all of them!” Zolciak tells the tabloid. “I had a couple of weeks in the beginning that were really rough, but then it was great.” Kim and husband Kroy welcomed their first son, K.J., in May 2011 and got married six months later. The reality star also has a pair of daughters: Brielle, 15, and Ariana, 9, from previous relationships. “I love [being a mom],” Zolciak says. “There’s nothing else in the world like it. I literally have everything.” Pick up the latest issue of Life & Style for more photos of Kim and her new bundle of joy, and also be sure to check out the first-ever Kristin Cavallari baby picture .
Kelly Clarkson has now covered the two biggest hits of 2012. As the first-ever American Idol makes her way around the country on tour, she’s been taking fan requests at each stop. And just a few days ago that request involved a version of Carly Rae Jepsen’s ” Call Me Maybe .” Last night, meanwhile, Clarkson did her best impression of Gotye and his smash “Somebody That I Used to Know,” tackling both parts of the track and – did you really expect anything else? – knocking the cover out of the park. Or out of the beach, in this case, as the concert was set at Jones Beach in Long Island. Watch the rendition now:
We’re big Sara Paxton fans here at Skin Central, so when she casually dismissed our Breast Picture of 2010, we were a little hurt. What’s wrong with ” Piranha 3D content,” as she told reporters NOT to expect from the strikingly-similar-in-every-way-but-nudity Shark Night 3D (2011)? So it is with a TIT of bitter irony that we skintroduce the first-ever glimpse of what Paxton is packin’ inside her bra- a nip slip from the normally skingy star 1 hour, 4 minutes into the film. But we won’t hold a grudge…though we have been known to hold our puds. See more from killer-fish flicks from Shark Night 3D (2011) to Tintorera (1977) right here at MrSkin.com!
If you think that free love and freer funbags were a skinvention of the 1960s, then you’ve got another think coming, mister. Sexual liberation has been swinging since the early days of the 20th Century, when Josephine Baker made bananas dance with her topless “banana dance” and Clara Bow bared boobage in the first-ever Oscar winner, Wings (1927). The provocative doc Legendary Sin Cities (2005) chronicles Shanghai’s heyday as a center for skinternational sin, but you don’t have to step into a time machine to experience the intoxicating decadence of the city once called “the Whore of Asia”. You just have to get your ass to Manhattan, where on January 25 Shame co-stars and masters of burlesque Calamity Chang (right) and DeeDee Luxe (left) proudly present Les Fleurs de Shanghai , a new revue that combines bump n’ grind with the exotic romance of Old Shanghai.
