Slinky Master Needs A Girl

I’ve posted a lot of weird shit over the years, but this might be one of the weirdest: a video of the so-called “Slinky master” showing off his skills. And if you ask me, this kid spends a little too much time playing with his Slinky that could be better spent with women. I’m just saying, I’m sure it would be a lot more rewarding for him. And it’d probably make an even better video too.

Lake Bell Topless For Esquire

I don’t know when the trend first started, but normally these days, it seems like the fashion mags have been giving us way hotter photoshoots than any of the so-called American “men’s magazines.” But it looks like that’s finally starting to change, thanks to shots like these from Lake Bell for the May issue of Esquire . I’ve never been a huge fan of Lake in the past, but these pictures are starting to change my mind on that one too. What can I say? All it takes is a nice set of funbags, I’m pretty easy to please.

The nation needs the so-called Buffett Rule and can’t afford to keep giving tax cuts to the wealthiest Americans “who don’t need them and didn’t even ask for them,” President Barack Obama said in his weekly address. “As many Americans rush to file their taxes this weekend, it’s worth pointing out that we’ve got a tax system that doesn’t always uphold the principle of everyone doing their part,” Obama… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : The Blaze Discovery Date : 14/04/2012 10:30 Number of articles : 2

‘Just Common Sense’: Obama Renews Call for Buffett Rule

Read this article:

President Barack Obama renewed his call Saturday for passage of the so-called Buffett rule, calling it “just common sense,” not “class warfare.” The Buffett rule, named after billionaire investor Warren Buffett, entered the lexicon last year after Buffett penned an op-ed in the New York Times encouraging Congress to raise taxes on the wealthy. Under the proposed plan, scheduled for a Senate vote April… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : The Blaze Discovery Date : 31/03/2012 10:30 Number of articles : 2

Why Does Justin Bieber Want to Jail Amy Klobuchar?

Why does Bieber even know who Amy Klobuchar is, let alone this animosity? It’s about S.978, the so-called “Protect IP Act,” and the House version, known as the “Stop Online Piracy Act.” Among other things, these bills would make Web streaming of copyrighted work a felony, with a 5-year jail sentence. Because the Beebs got his start by posting his renditions of other people’s songs on YouTube, activists… Broadcasting platform : Vimeo Source : Firedoglake Discovery Date : 27/10/2011 17:55 Number of articles : 2

Krauthammer Scolds Shields for ‘Moaning and Bitching’ About the Tax Plan

Charles Krauthammer on Friday scolded Mark Shields and other liberals for “moaning and bitching” about the President's compromise tax plan after months of demanding the White House implement a second stimulus package. After Shields on PBS's “Inside Washington” predictably criticized Obama for agreeing to extend the Bush tax cuts on the so-called rich, Krauthammer marvelously struck back (video follows with transcript and commentary): read more

Networks Offer Scant Coverage of Liberal DREAM Act, Frothed Over Arizona Immigration Bill

For much of the spring and summer, the big broadcast networks threw staff and airtime at covering Arizona's attempt to control its borders against rampant illegal immigration. Liberals detested Arizona's “harsh” new law, so the media elite reflexively treated it as a scandal in their coverage.

Partisan Inconsistency: In Close Congressional Races, AP Gives Two Paragraphs to GOP Win in IL-08, 14 to Dem in CA-11

I've noted an interesting disparity in how the Associated Press, the so-called Essential Global News Network, has covered Democratic and Republican congressional victories in situations where the counting has gone on well past Election Day. Let's contrast the amount of ink and bandwidth devoted to Republican Joe Walsh's victory over incumbent Democrat Melissa Bean in Illinois compared to the coverage accorded California Democrat Jerry McNerney in his victory over the GOP's David Harmer. First, in Walsh vs. Bean, the following is the only item that comes up in a search on Ms. Bean's name at the AP's main site: read more

Carbon Nanotube ‘Light Funnel’ Could Make Solar Panels More Efficient

Photo: Patrick Gillooly, MIT What Can’t We Do With Carbon Nanotubes? MIT researchers have found a way to use carbon nanotubes to concentrate light by about 100x and funnel photons into smaller (thus less expensive) solar panels. “Instead of having your whole roof be a photovoltaic cell, you could have little spots that were tiny photovoltaic cells, with antennas that would drive photons into them,” says Michael Strano, the Charles and Hilda Roddey Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering and leader of the research team…. Humans Get Better, Planet Gets Worse: It’s the Environmentalist’s Paradox

Photo via Research4Development A recent paper in the September issue of BioScience took on the so-called ‘Environmentalist’s Paradox’. That paradox poses a question along these lines: Why is it that human well-being has increased over the years, while the planet’s resources have been severely degraded — and how is that trajectory continuing today despite increasing damage to key ecosystem services? … Read the full story on TreeHugger
