Source: TIMOTHY A. CLARY / Getty Michael Cohen Sentenced To Three Years In Prison Donald Trump ‘s former lawyer Michael Cohen is going to prison for three years for what a judge described as a “veritable smorgasbord of criminal conduct” according to NBCNews . Included in the formal charges are counts of illegal hush payments to women, failing to report millions of dollars in income, and most damningly, lying to Congress about Trump’s business in Russia. Judge William Pauley was most disgusted by Cohen’s greed and used that as a significant reason to hit the janky lawyer with a field goal number. A crying Cohen seemed to accept responsibility for his crimes, but still, wheelbarrowed a pile of blame onto Donald Trump’s Ferragamo dress shoes. “I have been living in a personal and mental incarceration ever since the day that I accepted the offer to work for a real estate mogul whose business acumen that I deeply admired,” Cohen told the judge, saying his blind loyalty to Trump led him to choose “darkness over light.” Boo-the-f**k-hoo. “It was correct but for a much different reason than he was implying. It was because time and time again I felt it was my duty to cover up his dirty deeds,” Cohen said. This is a grown-a$$ man who is basically saying he got peer-pressured into lying and essentially stealing money from the government. GTFOHWTBS. T he overwhelming narrative surrounding immigration in the U.S. has long centered on Latinos, Hispanics and Central Americans. But in addition to those groups, immigrants from majority Black countries will also be left vulnerable to tougher immigration regulations that could be approved soon. A proposed rule from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), called “Inadmissibility on Public Charge Grounds,” was the Trump administration’s latest attempt to rig immigration policy in favor of English speakers whose earning power was near or on a par with that of American citizens. Monday was the end of a three-month period accepting “public comments” which DHS was expected to use to help reach its final decision on the rule. 'You could either feed your kids or stay in America but you can't do both.' — This new Trump rule targets immigrants legally in the U.S. The Trump admin's comment period on ‘public charge’ ends this Monday, Dec 10. You can submit a comment here: https://t.co/5TiJONYrfw pic.twitter.com/S91dmZVg83 — NowThis (@nowthisnews) December 8, 2018 According to the UndocuBlack Network , a nonprofit organization advocating for Black immigrants , the new rule would fall “in line with America’s racist history of preventing Black, Brown and Indigenous people from accessing resources and basic needs.” READ MORE: Diversity Visa Program Under Fire Helps Blacks Too Translated from legalese jargon, “public charge” is a “term used by U.S. immigration officials to refer to a person who is considered primarily dependent on the government for subsistence, as demonstrated by either receipt of public cash assistance for income maintenance or institutionalization for long-term care at government expense,” according to the National Immigration Law Center . “Where this consideration applies, an immigrant who is found to be ‘likely . . . to become a public charge’ may be denied admission to the U.S. or lawful permanent resident status.”) That means that Trump and his administration think immigrants entering the U.S. are intentionally looking to live off government benefits, such as “the receipt of public cash assistance for income maintenance or institutionalization for long-term care at government expense,” according to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services agency. The Public Charge rule would restrict immigrant families from using essential public services including non-emergency Medicaid, SNAP, Medicare Part D, and housing assistance. Comment by 12/10 at https://t.co/fVTNIj3lgZ pic.twitter.com/DCe0Ra35gp — CCDPH (@CookCoHealth) December 4, 2018 The problem with that logic was that “[u]ndocumented immigrants, including DACA holders, are ineligible to receive most federal public benefits, including means-tested benefits such as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, sometimes referred to as food stamps), regular Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families,” according to the National Immigration Forum . As of Monday, “refugees, asylees, and amnestied illegal aliens are exempt from the public charge requirement,” according to the Federation for American Immigration Reform . However, “[u]ndocumented immigrants may be eligible for a handful of benefits that are deemed necessary to protect life or guarantee safety in dire situations, such as emergency Medicaid, access to treatment in hospital emergency rooms, or access to healthcare and nutrition programs under the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC).” And that’s what has Trump’s white nationalist administration so worried. “The regulation also favors immigrants who speak the English language and who have earnings at or above 250 percent of the federal poverty level, which is a whopping $63,000 for a family of four,” UndocuBlack Network wrote on its website. That was a near impossible standard to meet for immigrants, let alone many American citizens, according to a list of states’ median income for four-person families that was compiled by the U.S. Census Bureau. Commission majority submitted formal comment urging @DHSgov to reconsider its Notice of Proposed Rulemaking regarding inadmissibility to U.S. on public charge grounds. They do, however, help pay for the public benefits American citizens receive, though, the Huffington Post reported last year. “In reality, immigrants typically pay far more in taxes than they receive in benefits. And that includes undocumented immigrants,” HuffPost wrote. “Not only do they simply not qualify for many benefits, but undocumented immigrants also tend to keep a low profile and may not seek benefits they possibly could legitimately receive as a result. However, every year millions of undocumented immigrants not only do pay taxes, they even file their tax returns.” A4: Public charge creates an anxious and unhealthy environment for young children. #NoToPublicCharge #ProtectFamilies pic.twitter.com/biVrYvBJ33 — APIAHF Says #NoToPublicCharge (@APIAHF) December 3, 2018 All of which makes it look like the Trump administration is trying to cut off its own nose just to spite its face and prove some null talking point to bolster the president’s white nationalist rhetoric while burying the actual truth. Source: Paul Morigi / Getty D emocrats as recently as Sunday appeared ready to pounce on President Donald Trump after the latest evidence from Special Counsel Robert Mueller ‘s probe suggested the president’s hands were filthy from Russian dirt. And with House Democrats in January taking control of committees directly involved with investigating the president, some incoming committee chairs have talked about the possibility of impeachment. But going after Trump in 2019 was not a priority of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), the group’s newly elected chair Rep. Karen Bass told NewsOne on Monday. “Impeachment is not going to be top on our agenda,” the California congresswoman said during a brief phone conversation. “It doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen. But at this point in time, we really think that some of the things our community needs are way more important than us going after impeachment now.” Bass’ comments came ahead of an Associated Press report that Democrats were toning down their aggressive rhetoric about impeaching Trump. At least immediately. See Also: Elijah Cummings Vows Evenhanded Investigation Of Trump Instead Of Dragging The President On Friday, Mueller’s office released findings from its investigation of Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen, including damning that Trump was “at the center of a massive fraud,” New York Rep. Jerry Nadler , the incoming chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, recently told the AP . Cohen admitted to overseeing illegal hush money payment to women who allegedly had sexual affairs with Trump in violation of campaign laws. Mueller’s filing also revealed previously unreported contacts between Trump associates and Kremlin representatives seeking to help the Republican nominee secure victory. “There’s a very real prospect that on the day Donald Trump leaves office, the Justice Department may indict him, that he may be the first president in quite some time to face the real prospect of jail time,” California Rep. Adam Schiff , who’s expected to chair the House intelligence committee in January, said Sunday. Still, many Democrats were cautious . For one thing, while they will control the House, Democrats will need Republicans’ support in the Senate to remove Trump. That could be a long way off given how partisan members of Congress have been under Trump. There was also concern about a political backlash similar to what happened to Republicans when they tried to remove President Bill Clinton in the late 1990s. “I think impeachment might be something we are forced to do as more evidence comes out, but it doesn’t make sense for us to go there first when there’s no way it would be successful now,” Bass said. One of Bass’ top priority as CBC chair was protecting voting rights for African-Americans, pointing to the gubernatorial election that was stolen from Stacey Abrams in Georgia and the ongoing voter fraud scandal in North Carolina. “We have so much to do, given the last two years of this administration,” she said. “There has been no accountability, where we see him systematically go after gains our community achieved decades ago.” SEE ALSO: Meet Tammy Kemp, The Black Judge Assigned To Amber Guyger Murder Trial For Killing Botham Jean Omarosa Takes A Swipe At John Kelly’s Dismissal As White House Chief Of Staff [ione_media_gallery src=”https://newsone.com” id=”3839541″ overlay=”true”]
T here’s an old saying: what goes around comes around. That’s how Omarosa Manigault Newman responded to news that the White House chief of staff John Kelly , who fired Omarosa last year, was ousted from his job. The former reality TV star called Kelly’s dismissal “karma.” SEE ALSO: Omarosa Kept Away From Trump As John Kelly Limits Oval Office Access President Donald Trump announced Saturday that Kelly will leave his job by the end of this year. Kelly was increasingly isolated in the White House and lost favor with the president, according to the Associated Press . “John Kelly will be leaving — I don’t know if I can say retiring — but he’s a great guy. John Kelly will be leaving at the end of the year. We’ll be announcing who will be taking John’s place — it might be on an interim basis. I’ll be announcing that over the next day or two, but John will be leaving at the end of the year. … I appreciate his service very much,” the president stated. #karma https://t.co/GioEfHOF2B — OMAROSA (@OMAROSA) December 8, 2018 In December 2017, Kelly fired Omarosa who worked at the White House as an aide to Trump. Omarosa provided NBC News with an audio recording in August of Kelly firing her in the Situation Room. “It’s come to my attention over the last few months that there’s been some pretty, in my opinion, significant integrity issues,” Kelly told Omarosa. She took it as a threat when Kelly suggested that a smooth exit from the White House would help her reputation. “I think it’s important to understand that if we can make this a friendly departure we can all be, you know, you can look at your time here in the White House as a year of service to the nation, and then you can go on without any type of difficulty in the future relative to your reputation,” Kelly said on the tape. Kelly, a retired Marine Corps four-star general came to the White House in June 2017 after serving briefly as Trump’s homeland security secretary. He was expected to be the adult in the room and bring order to the chaotic White House. His no-nonsense approach to managing the White House and who had access to the president alienated some Trump allies, causing him to become isolated to have a diminished role, according to the Associated Press. At the same time, he openly talked about the tribulations of working for the president, which angered Trump. During this time at the White House, Kelly created controversy when he tried to slander Florida’s Democratic Rep. Frederica Wilson , who was feuding with Trump over his mistreatment of Army Sgt. La David Johnson ’s widow Myeshia Johnson . Kelly also ignited controversy when he disregarded slavery as a cause of the Civil War and praised Confederate General Robert E. Lee during an interview with Fox News. Source: Pool / Getty John Kelly To Resign As Trump’s Chief Of Staff Another day, another Trump administration official is ready to high-tail it outta there. According to CNN , General John Kelly will soon resign as Donald Trump’s chief of staff as their relationship has become hostile to the point of not talking for several days. It has been 17 months since Kelly accepted the job that not many people want. Trump is said to be looking for a replacement as we speak, possibly Mike Pence’s chief of staff Nick Ayers. John Kelly has been close to resigning several other occasions during his tenure in the White House but was somehow always convinced to stay. That is no more. It’s reported that Trump is shook of the Democrats taking over the House of Representatives next year and wants someone who is going to help cover is orange a$$ as it flaps in the wind for Special Counsel Robert Mueller to take target practice at. This presidency is so f**ked.

Obama’s memoir, “Becoming,” was released on Tuesday, and she’s been making the rounds to promote the book. I might even tap [her younger daughter] Sasha!” Obama said, receiving a ton of laughter from the audience who got the message that anyone is better than Trump. I don’t want people in either party tearing each other up to get to the nomination. I’m going to be looking to see who handles themselves and each other with dignity and respect so that by the time people get to the general (election), people aren’t beat up and battered,” she stated. Obama takes several direct shots at Trump in her book. She slams the president for promoting the “birther” conspiracy theory that questioned whether her husband, President Barack Obama , was born in the United States. “The whole [birther] thing was crazy and mean-spirited, of course, its underlying bigotry and xenophobia hardly concealed. But it was also dangerous, deliberately meant to stir up the wingnuts and kooks. What if someone with an unstable mind loaded a gun and drove to Washington? What if that person went looking for our girls? Donald Trump, with his loud and reckless innuendos, was putting my family’s safety at risk. And for this I’d never forgive him,” she writes. (Photo by Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images) Donald Trump Responds to Michelle Obama’s Comments From Book According to CNN , Donald Trump clapped back at former first lady Michelle Obama and former President Barack Obama over a forthcoming memoir in which the former first lady said she would “never forgive” Trump for his role in the “birther” movement. “She got paid a lot of money to write a book and they always expect a little controversy…I’ll give you a little controversy back, I’ll never forgive (President Barack Obama) for what he did to our US military. It was depleted, and I had to fix it,” Trump said. “What he did to our military made this country very unsafe for you and you and you.” It sounds like Donnie didn’t want any smoke with the former first lady, so he lashed out at Barack.
