Adam Scott Joins the Already Impressive My Idiot Brother

So, how about My Idiot Brother ? Not only does it star Paul Rudd as the titular idiot, but also Elizabeth Banks, Emily Mortimer and Zooey Deschanel as his sisters. And Rashida Jones as Deschanel’s girlfriend . High fives all around! And now you can add Adam Scott to the roster as well. The Party Down star has been cast as Rudd’s neighbor in the film, presumably the deadpan one with the air of superiority and great hair. Between this and Parks and Recreation , it looks like someone is having himself a bit of a moment. [ The Playlist ]

January Jones Hits, Runs, Returns

According to the LAPD, the Mad Men star fled the scene after driving her Range Rover into not one, not two, but three vehicles late Thursday. Jones, who reportedly said she couldn’t “deal with this commotion,” later returned to explain to cops that she was being hounded by paparazzi. And why? Notes TMZ : “[P]hotos of her doing a ‘walk of shame’ were all over the Internet yesterday, showing her arriving home in a taxi in the same dress she wore to an event the night before.” Good grief. Where’s Alison Brie to run interference when you need her? [ TMZ ]

4 Lessons From 4 Minutes of The A-Team

Judging from the reviews , the marketing campaign and the interview stylings of Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, your hopes for the quality of The A-Team were probably nestled somewhere between Con Air and stab your eyeballs out. But if the four, hilariously non-consecutive minutes of the film that were “leaked” online prove anything, it’s that The A-Team looks like the action mess of the summer. Congrats, Joe Carnahan! You’ve managed to out-fever dream Smokin’ Aces . After the jump, the four lessons learned from the video.

Michael Musto’s The Hollywood Kid: Tyler Perry’s Rumors and Reality Star Woes

Michael Musto isn’t afraid to go there in this week’s installment of The Hollywood Kid. What exactly is Tyler Perry up to on his secret island — when he isn’t distracted by Mariah Carey , of course — and with who? Why is Megan Mullally enlisting Leslie Jordan for her Will & Grace stage spinoff, but not Sean Hayes? And what reality star is willing to be lowballed just for the chance to topline a cable show? Let Musto get to the bottom of all this for you; all you have to do is post your guesses in the comments.

On VOD: Goooooooooooooooooal! (and Michael Jackson)

The World Cup is nigh — even I’m getting sucked in. Soccer movies, though, are rare and usually dire — except when they’re docs, and when they’re global, and when they focus on the game as real people play it, anywhere they can…

Dina Manzo Leaves Real Housewives, But Who Should Go Next?

If you watched this week’s Real Housewives of New Jersey until the very end, you probably caught the two surprise reveals that Bravo buried in the teaser for next week’s episode: 1) Danielle Staub has a sex tape and 2) One housewife is leaving the show. Most viewers probably assumed that those two revelations were interconnected — the cast members would badger Danielle about her latest scandal until she snaps, punches Teresa in the face, and is ejected by Bravo producers. However, the controversy-prone Danielle isn’t the one jumping ship — that’d be Dina Manzo , the most reasonable of the cast members. Who else needs to go?

What’s On: Bethenny Getting Harried

The title Bethenny Getting Married? should tell you one thing: It’s exactly like Rachel Getting Married . In the first episode, the Real Housewives of New York star leaves rehab to attend her resentful sister’s wedding, but her attempts to reconcile her sordid past are foiled when Debra Winger punches her in the face. I swear. OK, it’s more benign than that. But I believe Debra would take a swing at Bethenny. You know?

Watch Chuck Lorre’s Admitted Failure: The Original Big Bang Theory Pilot

Here’s your Big Bang Theory trivia of the day: Long before Kaley Cuoco joined the CBS sitcom as Leonard and Sheldon’s ditzy neighbor Penny, Chuck Lorre shot a pilot with unknown Canadian actress/VJ Amanda Walsh as his female lead. Walsh and her character — a street smart gal with a sensitive core — were both scrapped by Lorre after CBS rejected the pilot. Now, thanks to the wonder of the internet, that original episode (that even Lorre said “sucked”) is available for your viewing pleasure.

REVIEW: The A-Team Pushes the Action-Junk Envelope in All the Wrong Ways

The plot of The A-Team can be summed up thus: Stuff happens, connected by dialogue. Helicopters explode; human beings are nearly incinerated; trucks burst into flames. “Ha ha! Wow! You blew that thing up!” says Bradley Cooper, or Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, or Sharlto Copley — or maybe they all say it at once, though that would entail some extra coordination that’s probably beyond their grasp. Meanwhile, big-name star Liam Neeson looks on, trying to add some class to the joint, though even he seems to know it’s a losing battle.
