With all the political scandals of the past two years, it’s easy to forget about the strange saga of Anthony Weiner. Fortunately, if you’ve forgotten the details, Weiner’s scarily appropriate surname is probably enough to jog your memory. In 2011, the Democratic congressman from New York was a political star on the rise. That same year, however, he found himself involved in a bizarre scandal that attracted intense interest from late night hosts and pun-loving headline writers alike. Weiner accidentally tweeted a photo of his penis that he intended to send to a woman he had been flirting with online. The whole thing might not have been such a big deal, were it not for the fact that Weiner is married to Huma Abedin , an advisor to Hillary Clinton and another rising star for the Dems. Also not helping his situation is the fact that Weiner not only continued with his deviant behavior but got more extreme as the years went on. Weiner stepped down from Congress following his first sexting scandal, but he returned to politics in 2013 to run for mayor of New York City . Weiner’s second scandal introduced the world to Carlos Danger (his alias) and Sydney Leathers, a recipient of explicit texts from Weiner. Obviously, that derailed his mayoral campaign, but it was the third sexting scandal that sent Weiner to prison . In 2017, The Daily Mail broke the news that Weiner was caught sexting a 15-year-old North Carolina resident. Weiner was sentenced to 21 months behind bars for his crimes. He was released today with no advance notice, six months ahead of schedule. Weiner was initially scheduled to be released in August of 2019, but he was granted an early release on the basis of good behavior. For now, Weiner will be residing in a halfway house in the Bronx. He was spotted today by a New York Post reported as he momentarily stepped outside to pick up food he’d had delivered. Asked for a comment, Weiner stated simply, “Not allowed to talk. I’m sorry, my friend.” It’s probably best for Weiner to keep as low a profile as possible these days.

The embattled public servant will serve 21 months in prison after pleading guilty to sending obscene and explicit text messages to a 15-year old girl. CBS News reports that Weiner’s lawyers urged the judge to consider that Weiner’s had a “therapeutic awakening” in light of similar cases of him sending sexual content to adult-aged women. Unfortunately for him, prosecutors (and everyone with common sense) said his conduct “suggests a dangerous level of denial and lack of self-control.” “As Weiner knew full well, the law unequivocally prohibits the online sexual exploitation of minors, no matter the app used to commit the crime or the apparent sophistication or motivation of the young teenager on the other end. The law must be respected to protect other teens from falling prey to the same conduct,” wrote Acting U.S. Attorney Joon H. Kim in the government’s sentencing recommendations released last week. The 15-year-old received adult porn from Weiner and took her clothes off for him on Skype. If you can remember, Weiner’s sexting scandal prompted James Comey to re-open the investigation into Hilary Clinton’s emails. According to CBS, Prosecutors discovered a cache of emails from then-Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton to her aide Huma Abedin, Weiner’s estranged wife. Anthony Weiner: Headed to Prison For Sexting Teenage Girl?

These days, the unfortunately-named Anthony Weiner is better known for his numerous sex scandals than for his political career. Weiner resigned from Congress in 2011 after inadvertently tweeting a sexually explicit photo of himself. In 2013, Weiner returned to the political arena with a failed campaign for mayor of New York City that was cut short when it was revealed that Weiner had been sexting Sydney Leathers, a young woman who went on to tar in an adult film based on her involvement with the disgraced politician. It seems even that incident wasn’t enough to keep the 52-year-old from sending explicit texts and social media messages, and Weiner was caught up in two additional sexting scandals in the past month. While his political career has come to an end, until recently Weiner was married to Huma Abedin, a top aide for Hillary Clinton. Abedin left Weiner after the latest round of revelations, but his name is still linked with the Clinton campaign, and thus, his scandalous private life is still making headlines. And unfortunately for everyone involved, Weiner’s dalliances keeping getting more and more shameful. Back in August, Weiner was caught in yet another sexting scandal after having sent a number of explicit photos (at least one of which showed the former congressman lying in bed next to his young son) were posted by a woman who set out to “catfish” Weiner.  Last week, it was revealed that Weiner had been sexting a 15-year-old girl , a move that could land him in serious legal trouble. Page Six consulted with legal experts to find out if Weiner could be facing jail time for the illicit texts. The answer? Some believe that not only is Weiner headed to prison, he latest misdeeds might lead to a new federal law being enacted. “This could be the tip of the iceberg with a minor,” a DC lawyer and former DA who believes Weiner will do time. “This is not the first school girl he wants to see in her uniform.” She added that he’ll almost certainly be facing a civil suit from the girl’s family as well: “This is disgusting and depraved. I would not want to be his lawyer. He is not going to win this case.” As a result of Weiner’s latest scandal, New York State Assembly candidate Dean Hart is calling for a bill to criminalize sexually explicit text messages sent to minors: “When you are an adult you don’t play games with 15-year-old girls . . . This should be illegal and eliminates the difference between images and writing.” Hart added: “This is how he gets his jollies. I thought he needs a shrink … but now [with a minor], they got to make it a crime. “When people drive drunk, they are not permitted to drive a car again, so they should ban him from using cellphones and the Internet.” Others believe Weiner will avoid jail due to the fact that thus far the texts between Weiner and the teen that have surfaced have not featured any explicit photos. Whatever the case, this latest controversy should serve as a decisive nail in the coffin for Weiner’s political career and his marriage.

You might remember the name Sydney Leathers from the Anthony Weiner sexting scandal that derailed the once-beloved politician’s 2013 New York City mayoral campaign. As previously reported, Frankel is already accused of referring to her estranged husband as trash in front of their little daughter. Now, an insider who has apparently seen Hoppy’s court-submitted documents, tells In Touch Weekly that they allege more mean actions by Bethenny in March. “She threw water on him to wake him and yelled that she ‘has more money than God,’” claims this tabloid source, adding that ” Bryn was sleeping in the next room” at the time of the confrontation. The source goes on to say that Frankel is consumed by her career, to the point that Bryn locked herself in the set bathroom once under Bethenny’s watch and firemen had to be called in. Moreover, Hoppy says Bethenny tried to force vegan recipes on the child, even though a nutritionist later said that it wasn’t healthy such a young girl. “According to Jason, Bethenny has ‘issues’ with food and refused to allow Bryn to eat animal products,” the insider tells the publication. Frankel’s attorney has denied all allegations, but there’s no denying the following summation by this anonymous mole: “No one expected it to be amicable. But this has gotten downright nasty.”

The Dirty, a celebrity gossip site owned by Nik Richie, posted pics and conversations that allegedly came from Weiner to a 22-year-old woman. He used the pseudonym “Carlos Danger.” Seriously. The former U.S. Congressman, who resigned after a scandal in which he texted pics of his junk to people online, recently announced his comeback. In spite of this new revelation, he’s still running for Mayor of NYC . “I said that other texts and photos were likely to come out, and they have,” Weiner said in a statement released by his campaign Tuesday afternoon. “As I have said in the past, the things I did were wrong and hurtful to my wife and caused us to go through challenges in our marriage that extended past my resignation from Congress.” “While some things that have been posted today are true and some are not, there is no question that what I did was wrong.” “This behavior is behind me. I’ve apologized to Huma and am grateful that she has worked through these issues with me and for her forgiveness.” “I want to again say that I am very sorry to anyone who was on the receiving end of these messages and the disruption that this has caused.” “As my wife and I have said, we are focused on moving forward.” Weiner’s statement does not address the crucial question of the timeline of when they occurred, and the sex chats and photos are not dated. The Dirty’s source says that she carried on an online relationship with Weiner from July-November 2012, which he did not deny in the statement. The anonymous woman said her relationship with Weiner, who is married to Huma Abedin , lasted for six months and that he had promised “many” things. The Dirty’s post gained traction in the mainstream when BuzzFeed’s Ben Smith posted them. Nik Richie did not respond to a request for comment. When he first jumped into the campaign, Weiner said that he “couldn’t guarantee” new photos like the one that forced him to resign wouldn’t surface. Weiner had built up consistent leads in multiple recent mayoral polls before these new revelations. We’ll see if his tenuous support can hold up.
