Carlos Danger: The Weiner Rises Again in New Spirit Airlines Ad!

“The Weiner Rises Again!” So says Spirit Airlines in a new ad poking fun at Carlos Danger, the online pseudonym of ex-Congressman and NYC mayoral hopeful Anthony Weiner. Take a look at their latest promotional campaign. $24 OFF!! If you missed it, Anthony Weiner used the pseudonym “Carlos Danger” to exchange lewd texts and pics with Sydney Elaine Leathers in July 2012. That sucks for his political campaign, and for his wife, Huma Abedin , who somehow stuck by him through this … but it could work to your advantage! If travelers book a vacation package to Los Cabos or Cancun by Friday, they get a sweet deal, courtesy of a mustachioed, caped hot dog with a smartphone. “We’re spreading the word of vacation package savings,” said Spirit Airlines spokeswoman Misty Pinson. “What’s not to love about low fares and great deals?” It’s not the first time Spirit has found inspiration from this Weiner. In 2011, when the first Anthony Weiner sexting scandal broke and torpedoed his career, the airline offered a “Weiner sale” with “fares too hard to resist.” The guy just makes it too hard. Er, easy.

We know Selena Gomez likes to be pumped by Justin Bieber. But the singer made it obvious this week: do not pump her for information about Justin Bieber ! Selena gave an interview this week to Chicago’s WGN, presumably to promote her new album. But the host continually peppered Gomez with questions about Bieber, asking if there’s “something about him that we don’t get or we don’t understand” based on his recent “outrageous” behavior. In response… Gomez gave no response! She walked off on her end of the video feed and the screen cut to black. Aubrey Plaza in Fake Daria Movie Trailer: Someone Call Kickstarter!

Daria is back! Well, sort of. Aubrey Plaza, the cartoon’s real life counterpart did a fake trailer for the fake film that undoubtedly everyone in the universe wants to really happen. Aubrey Plaza in Daria Movie Trailer There’s just something about Plaza’s deadpan delivery that fully captures Daria’s sense of ennui. This trailer, centered around Daria’s high school reunion , seems to have everything. Daria’s sister Quinn who is, of course, still the queen bee. Her best friend Jane Lane and older brother Trent Lane with his band Mystik Spiral. Even her self-absorbed father has a mini-breakdown very reminiscent of the MTV cartoon.  The only thing missing was the Trentmobile but one would have to imagine that even it finally died in the ten years that have passed. Will someone please make this movie? Pretty please? Surely this would be a better use of crowdfunding than Lindsay Lohan’s  The Canyons  or  Spike Lee’s Kickstarter ?

Kate Middleton Weight Loss Tabloid Cover: Too Soon?

A tabloid is under scrutiny for a cover story about Kate Middleton’s alleged post-baby weight loss regime … released the same day she gave birth. The UK version of OK! came out Monday with a photo of the new royal mom on the cover and the headline “Kate’s Post-Baby Weight Loss Regime.” Promoting an interview with someone described as her trainer, the story claims Kate Middleton is “super fit … her stomach will shrink straight back.” Many people felt that the story was a little too soon (to say the least) and puts pressure on new moms to instantly lose the baby weight they put on. The cover quickly sparked a Twitter backlash, including from TV and radio presenter Katy Hill, who tweeted a photo of her own post-baby body. “I think all mums should boycott @OK_Magazine for this cover ONE DAY after Kate Middleton has given birth. REALLY? #RoyalBaby,” Hill tweeted. “New Mums. If the @OK_Magazine #Kate cover has made you feel bad, here’s me 2 months post baby. YOU MADE A HUMAN! x,” she added. Tamsin Kelly, editor of Parentdish, said: “For this magazine to be in UK shops on the very same day Kate left hospital with her baby is contemptible.” “Women who do get back in shape fast may have an entourage of trainers, nutrition experts and most importantly, someone to care for their baby.” The celebrity gossip publication responded in a statement, claiming it did not intend to offend anyone, but stopping short of issuing an apology. “Kate is one of the great beauties of our age and readers love her,” a spokeswoman for Northern & Shell, the parent company of OK! said. “Like the rest of the world, we were very moved by her radiance as she and Prince William introduced the Prince of Cambridge to the world.” “We would not dream of being at all critical of her appearance.” “If that was misunderstood on our cover it was not intended.” Sure thing, OK! Your heartfelt intentions will never again be questioned. On the bright side, nothing can take away from the grace and glow Kate while providing the world with the first Royal Baby photos Tuesday. We heart her.

David Kernell, Sarah Palin Email Hacker, Finally Out of Prison, Off Probation

David Kernell, the former college student who hacked Sarah Palin’s email in 2008 looking for politically damaging information, is FINALLY off probation. Kernell’s prison term ended in November 2011, and a judge has now ended his post-prison probation, The Commercial Appeal of Memphis, Tenn., reports. He was scheduled to remain on probation until late 2014, but Judge Thomas Phillips agreed to Kernell’s request to end his probation early. As NBC affiliate WBIR notes, Kernell’s attorney Wade Davis continues to argue, five years later, that his client only committed a youthful prank. When he did hack Palin’s email, the young man was a student at the University of Tennessee. He did complete his degree after he was out of prison. Phillips didn’t want to send Kernell to prison in the first place. In fact, he had ordered the college student to report to a halfway house in Knoxville. However, the U.S. Bureau of Prisons overruled Thomas and instead sent the 22-year-old prankster straight to the slammer for his cyber “crime.”

Bristol Palin Describes Prank Calls, Text Message Harassment

Bristol Palin said she received countless phone calls and texts when her number was posted online after her mom’s e-mail was hacked back in 2008. Palin testified Wednesday that she was 17 and pregnant in 2008 when her Sarah Palin’s Yahoo! account was invaded by a Tennessee college student. Now 19, Bristol Palin said the worst harassment occurred when a bunch of boys called her up, claiming they were outside her door and wanted in. No word if baby daddy Levi Johnston was one of rowdy gang of hooligans or if anyone inquired about whether or not her refrigerator was running. “We live in the middle of nowhere in Alaska … in the middle of the woods,” Palin said, noting that private photos of her family were posted online. “I saw a screen shot on the TV … I think it was Fox News,” she said, coincidentally plugging the station for which Sarah is a paid political analyst. Bristol Palin can thank this goofball for all the harassment . David Kernell, 22, has been charged with identity theft, wire fraud, accessing Palin’s e-mail account without authorization and obstructing an FBI investigation. If convicted, he could be sent to prison for up to 50 years . The former University of Tennessee student has not been accused of the harassing calls, e-mails and text messages that Bristol Palin described to the jury. Kernell’s attorney claims the e-mail intrusion was just a prank and has attempted to show the account was accessible to others. But he still did it, right? Sarah’s hacked account was set up just after she was picked to be the Vice Presidential running mate of Republican presidential nominee John McCain. Finally somebody will get Sarah Palin on the witness stand!

Former Alaska Governor and Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin is expected to be a witness at a University of Tennessee student’s internet fraud trial next month. University of Tennessee student David Kernell, now 22, is accused of accessing Sarah Palin’s personal e-mail account (gov.palin@yahoo.com) while she was Sen. John McCain’s running mate. Palin was governor at the time. Prosecutors contend Kernell answered some security questions, like Palin’s date of birth and where she met her spouse, then reset her password. He’s accused of posting the new password on the internet so others could look at her e-mail account. I doubt the defense attorney will ask Palin any of the questions that most of us are dying to hear her answer, but I know I will still be paying very close attention to this trial. Just in case.
