The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 7 Episode 1 Recap: Welcome Home, Tre!

After a two-year hiatus from Bravo and a year in prison for Teresa Giudice, you can  watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey online  once more. They’re back, bitches!!!! Teresa Giudice Comes Home: See Her Family Reunion! Kicking off  The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 7 Episode 1 ? Obviously, a lot of talk about Teresa returning from the slammer. What’s interesting – and far from unique on popular reality shows – is that the episode built up to to a reunion we already know happened. And which played out extensively in the media – often thanks to the star herself, who cashed in on every People exclusive she could. More power to her, but still … a bit of the luster was gone when it felt like we’d seen or heard nearly all of this before, many times over. Basically, though the behind-the-scenes look did offer real emotion (the girls truly do love Tre), it was anticlimactic at the same time. The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 7 Episode 1 did set up right out of the gate that Jacqueline Laurita is stepping up her game. One just gets that feeling when Jacqueline proceeds to make Teresa’s release from Danbury Correctional Facility all about Jacqueline. She told husband Chris she doesn’t really miss Teresa, rhetorically asking, “Why am I fighting for this friendship that she doesn’t really like?” Money? Obviously? What else could it … Anyway, as for the two new housewives, Dolores Catania and Siggy Flicker, we can’t quite get a read on them or what their roles will be. Yet. Melissa Gorga, meanwhile, wants to open a new boutique, and seems bent on venturing out on her own, without help from hubby Joe. “It is going to be difficult for me to figure out how to be a modern woman,” she said, “and go in the work field and keep those traditional values.” “Because they don’t really go together.” The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 7 Trailer Deep feminist thoughts aside, Melissa and Joe – like everyone else – can’t stop thinking and talking about Teresa coming home at last. Finally, the big moment arrives in N.J. While Gia picks out her mother’s clothes, James Leonard tells Joe that Teresa will be under house arrest until her sentence ends in two months. The paparazzi are swarming outside.  “Get out of here, you dumb stupid people!” Milania yells at them, from a considerable distance, while Teresa’s return home is … subdued? “Hi honey. Welcome home,” Joe says, seemingly not in a hurry to get up from sitting down as she walks in, and responds as they embrace: “I missed my house, and I missed you.” In no particular order. “I won’t be naive anymore I learned my lesson, and I won’t make the same mistake twice,” she tells the cameras in a profound statement. Lesson: Playing fast and loose with lending laws, committing bankruptcy fraud and conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud are one thing. Being naive, that’s another story. Joe Giudice, gearing up for his own prison sentence, says that after raising kids by himself for a year, he can survive anything. Lesson: Prison > Four Daughters. Jamaa Fanaka, Director of the Penitentiary Series, Dies at Age 69

He was a leading member of the L.A. Rebellion movement that brought African-American filmmakers together in solidarity, and, more importantly to our purposes, he made a movie about a man who gets his revenge on a corrupt justice system using his eight-foot dong ( Welcome Home Brother Charles , 1975). Jamaa Fanaka ‘s stock in trade was the grindhouse and the drive-in, but his movies, including Emma Mae (aka Black Sister’s Revenge ) (1976), the aforementioned Welcome Home Brother Charles , and the Penitentiary films ( Penitentiary , 1979, Penitentiary 2 , 1982, and Penitentiary 3 , 1987) all embody a defiant spirit that wouldn’t be out of place at a Black Panther Party meeting and inspired intense excitement and passionate fandom in the inner-city kids who saw his movies ( Snoop Dogg is a particularly vocal Fanaka fan ). Fanaka, who was born in Mississippi and grew up in Los Angeles, had a natural aptitude for movies and wrote, directed and got distribution for his first three feature films while still enrolled in UCLA’s film school. Penitentiary was the highest-grossing independent film of 1980, but Fanaka’s career unfortunately slowed down with his worsening health throughout the ’90s and early 2000s. He passed away this week at the age of 69. Fight the power with the Blaxploitation sensations of Jamaa Fanaka right here at MrSkin.com

Lil Wayne To Release Prison Memoir In November

‘Gone Till November’ will come out two years after Weezy’s release from Rikers Island. By Rob Markman Lil Wayne Photo: MTV News Lil Wayne has a story to tell. Well, Lil Wayne probably has a bunch of stories to tell, but this fall the multiplatinum rap superstar will release “Gone Till November,” his memoir based on the diaries he kept while he was locked up for eight months on Rikers Island in New York. The book, which will come out in November, two years after Weezy’s release from prison, is being described as an internal monologue, according to the Associated Press . It will be released through Grand Central Publishing, a division of Hachette Book Group. Weezy was freed from Rikers Island on November 4, 2010, after he served eight months of a year-long sentence for an attempted gun possession charge. Police had arrested the rapper in 2007 following his headlining performance at New York’s Beacon Theatre. Wayne eventually pleaded guilty to the charge and turned himself in to authorities in March of 2010. MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway caught up with Wayne in Miami at a welcome-home party just days after his prison release. When asked how his transition from prison was going, Weezy simply responded with a grin. “I forgot about yesterday,” he said after thanking his fans and family for their support. He hasn’t completely forgotten, however, now that Wayne, who has since toured the world and released his double-platinum Tha Carter IV, plans to reminisce a little.
