Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club Recap: Is This the Most Nauseating Reality Show on TV?

Last week, we described Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club as “the kind of trainwreck it’s easy to look away from.” That may sound hyperbolic, but the show’s first episode was a mess in every sense of the word. The biggest complaint among viewers was that the premiere episode had very little to do with Lindsay at all. In fact, it seemed that her name had been used as a hook to help MTV sell Real World: Mykonos to an audience that’s increasingly uninterested in the “sweaty co-eds sexually harass one another” subgenre of reality television. When Lindsay did appear on camera (usually filmed in extreme soft-focus of course), she flounced onto the scene to pass judgment on young people who’s misbehavior paled in comparison to hers at the same age. Her goal in appearing on the show (in addition to drawing a much-needed paycheck, of course) seemed to be twofold: It provided a venue for both advertising her re-invention to the world (Did you know Lindsay meditates twice a day now? Because she’ll happily tell you all about it.), and for further re-inventing herself as a self-described “boss bitch” in the style of Lisa Vanderpump. Of course, Lisa is 26 years Lindsay’s senior, and with several decades’ experience in the restaurant industry, she’s much better-equipped to handle an unruly staff of wannabe models. This vast discrepancy of experience and ability was on full display Tuesday night, as Lindsay discovered the hard way that jotting down a bunch of meaningless slogans and boasting that she’s friends with Oprah would not be enough to help her earn the respect of her young staff. Last week, Lindsay’s lackey Panos berated a female employee for doing exactly what she was told to do (party with guests, get them to spend money), while simultaneously praising a male employee, Brent, for publicly making out with a female customer at what appeared to be about 2 in the afternoon. This week, Lindsay was shocked when Brent refused to sensuously wipe the feet of an elderly male guest.   “The fact Brent has the audacity to just walk away, is this really happening?” said Lohan. “This is not the Brent Show, this is Lindsay Lohan. He doesn’t get to do that.” Here’s the thing — when you encourage your employees to incorporate their sexuality into their job responsibilities (as Lindsay and Panos did when they praised Brent for trying to f–k a customer), you can’t be surprised when they’re uninterested in tasks that don’t fit with their proclivities. So Lindsay and Panos were wrong to come down on Brent for not wanting to wipe a stranger’s feet, as he was never told that such a task would be among his job responsibilities. That said, dude fully deserves to be sent packing for what happened next. He previously expressed interest in housemate Sara, but she appears to be more interested in Billy, a co-worker who seems to have been silently shoehorned into the cast just in time for the second episode (which appears to take place several weeks after the first). Feeling jilted, Brent let loose with the following tirade: “We are in a house of all ugly girls, they’re all ugly. I’m surrounded by 2s, you’re a 5, maybe a 6, but in the house you’re a 10 because there’s no one else to look at. We’re going to gay clubs, we’re going to clubs with six old men and I needed to nut. “The fact that Sara has the power is a joke. I don’t even think Sara is that attractive. Honey, if you were coming to Vegas, I wouldn’t look twice to you. Maybe 7 pounds less, I’d talk to her. Now I feel like Sara’s gum stuck to the bottom of my shoe that won’t go away.” Thankfully, the cast responded by dousing Brent in booze, but the fact that he wasn’t immediately sent packing speaks volumes about the culture of this show and the utter lack of f–ks Lindsay has for the integrity of her latest business venture. Oh, and during all of this, Lindsay was hosting a swanky dinner party, during which a guest compared her to Martha Stewart. (Ed. note: LOLOLOLOL!) This prompted Lindsay to remark, “I’m not Martha Stewart, I’ve already been to jail.” Ugh. Is Lindsay, 1. still talking about that time she was briefly locked up ten years? and 2. unaware that Martha has been to prison. We can’t with this show. Via TMZ reports : Dallas Cowboys nose tackle Josh Brent has been indicted on one count of intoxicated manslaughter … after allegedly killing his teammate in a drunken car accident earlier this month. Brent was indicted by a Texas Grand Jury today following the December 8th crash that killed his friend and teammate Jerry Brown. Brent was behind the wheel at the time of the accident. Police in the Dallas suburb where the accident took place claim Brent was speeding when his Mercedes struck a curb and flipped over. Officers believe Brent was under the influence of alcohol. Brent is currently out on $100,000 bail and, if convicted, faces up to 20 years in prison. If you ask us people have been VERY VERY nice to Brent since this accident. People weren’t this nice to Brandy when she had her accident and she wasn’t even drinking. Has he been getting a pass because he’s an athlete? Specifically, a Cowboys football player?

Josh Brent Arrested For DUI Manslaughter, Jerry Brown Killed in Car Crash

Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Josh Brent is facing a manslaughter charge after a one-vehicle accident that killed linebacker Jerry Brown, a member of the team’s practice squad. Irving, Tex., police spokesman John Argumaniz said the crash happened at 2:20 a.m. Saturday, just hours before Brent was to fly with the team to Cincinnati to face the Bengals. The 25-year-old Jerry Brown – a practice-squad linebacker who also was Brent’s teammate for three seasons at the University of Illinois – was pronounced dead at a hospital. “I am devastated and filled with grief,” Josh Brent said in a statement. “Filled with grief for the loss of my close friend and teammate, Jerry Brown. I am also grief-stricken for his family, friends and all who were blessed enough to have known him.” “I will live with this horrific and tragic loss every day for the rest of my life,” he added. “My prayers are with his family, our teammates and his friends at this time.” It marked the second tragedy in as many weekends for the NFL. Last Saturday, Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher fatally shot his girlfriend before killing himself in front of his coach and general manager. “We are deeply saddened by the news of this accident and the passing of Jerry Brown,” Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said in a statement yesterday. “At this time, our hearts and prayers and deepest sympathies are with the members of Jerry’s family and all of those who knew him and loved him.”

Seriously, something has got to give with these athletes. According to NBC Sports: Dallas Cowboys practice-squad linebacker Jerry Brown was killed in a one-car accident Saturday and teammate Josh Brent was charged with intoxication manslaughter. Irving police spokesman John Argumaniz said the accident happened about 2:20 a.m. Saturday in the Dallas suburb. Brent was speeding when the vehicle hit a curb and flipped at least once, Argumaniz said. Argumaniz said the 25-year-old Brown – also Brent’s teammate at the University of Illinois for three seasons – was found unresponsive at the scene and pronounced dead at a hospital. The police spokesman said officers conducted a field sobriety test on Brent and arrested him. The charge was upgraded after Brown was pronounced dead. “We are deeply saddened by the news of this accident and the passing of Jerry Brown,” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said in a statement. “At this time, our hearts and prayers and deepest sympathies are with the members of Jerry’s family and all of those who knew him and loved him.” The team said in a statement that Brent was not on the team flight to Cincinnati, where the Cowboys play the Bengals on Sunday. Argumaniz said Brent was being held without bond. Brent is named as Joshua Price-Brent in the police news release. Argumaniz also said Brent missed a 10 a.m. Saturday booking session with a judge because he was intoxicated. He did not know if Brent had an attorney. The Cowboys signed Brown to their practice squad Oct. 24, but he hasn’t been on the active roster. He was released from the Indianapolis Colts’ practice squad Oct. 20. “On behalf of the entire Colts family, our sincerest condolences go out to Jerry’s family and friends, Colts general manager Ryan Grigson said in a statement. “He was a good teammate that was well liked by all. Today’s tragic news is just another reminder of how fragile life is and how everyday given is a gift.” Brown played for San Antonio in the Arena Football League this year. In 2011, he played for Jacksonville in the AFL and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the Canadian Football League. Wow. Extremely sad. R.I.P.

Excuse Adam Lambert While He Kisses Some Guy…

Adam Lambert paid homage to Jimi Hendrix at a concert in France last night. And to the countless music fans that have often mistaken the lyrics to this icon’s classic 1967 single “Purple Haze.” As part of his Glam Nation Tour in Europe, Lambert treated concert goers to a rendition of this single, switching up the words from “Excuse me while I kiss the sky” to “Excuse me while I kiss some guy.” Not merely apt for Adam, the latter verse has been sung so often that a website has actually been created in its honor . Click on the images above to enlarge shots of Lambert on stage. Then, sit back, relax and watch the video of him covering Hendrix below. It’s great stuff. Purple Haze Renditon
