Cry Me A River: Herman Cain’s Buddies Say He’s A Victim Of A High-Tech Lynching

Oh, so Herman Cain and his people want some sympathy for him now? No thank you. After Cain has been attacked for his sexual harassment cases from years ago and his denial/non-denial/admission/shadiness made him look even worse, hhis conservative homies are trying to yank the race card out of their back pockets to say he’s a victim of a technological lynching. At least initially, conservatives rallied around Cain, likening the attacks on the Republican presidential contender to what they describe as the “high-tech lynching” of another prominent black Republican: Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. The forceful early reaction to the Cain firestorm – fueled by racially charged rhetoric – suggests the Georgia businessman’s attempt to cast himself as a victim of the media and liberals could, so far, be paying dividends within his conservative Republican base, which will hold considerable sway in selecting the party’s nominee. The head of the conservative Media Research Center, Brent Bozell, labeled the story a “high-tech lynching,” evoking Thomas’ divisive Supreme Court confirmation hearings two decades ago, where he was confronted with sexual harassment allegations from a onetime employee, Anita Hill. “I think the left is totally and completely terrified of a conservative black man coming to power and prominence,” said Debbie Dooley, a leader of Atlanta Tea Party Patriots. “They are trying to do the same thing to him that they did with Clarence Thomas.” “It’s outrageous the way liberals treat a black conservative,” fumed pundit Ann Coulter. So now, after insulting the Black community since he started his mission to embarrass the White House, Hermie is trying to gain some sympathy? Go somewhere with that one, buddy boy.

Bozell, Hannity Tackle Media Misrepresentation of Tax Debate on December 9 ‘Media Mash’ Segment

“This is journalistic insanity,” NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell protested after watching a montage of liberal journalists misrepresenting the tax policy debate before Congress. “There is no tax cut going on here at all…. What we're talking about is preventing a tax increase, a tax increase which, by the way,

Bozell, Hannity Address Media Defending Invasive TSA Searches, Tax Hikes; Former ABC Reporter Calls Palin an ‘Ass’

After watching a montage of mainstream media journalists defending the TSA's invasive pat-down procedures as practically essential to preventing airline terrorism, NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell argued it'd be a far different story if those procedures had happened under the Bush administration. “Imagine the same reporters reporting that story if George Bush had instigated these [TSA pat-down] policies,” NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell argued on the December 2 edition of Fox News Channel's “Hannity.” [Video of the “Meda Mash” segment follows the page break] read more

MRC’s Bozell Debates Offensive Smithsonian Art Exhibit on CNN’s ‘John King USA’

“Look, if you like depictions of sadomasochism… if you like homoerotic art…. if you're into religious bigotry… if you like that, fine,” but don't expect taxpayers to subsidize such an exhibit at a Smithsonian museum, NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell argued in a debate segment on last night's edition of “John King USA” on CNN. The Media Research Center (MRC) founder and president appeared opposite Washington Post art critic Blake Gopnik, who defended the controversial art display “Hide/Seek: Difference and Desire in American Portraiture” featured at the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery. You may recall that on Tuesday Bozell called for Congress to investigate the taxpayer-funded Smithsonian for showcasing the abhorrent and sacrilegious display. MRC-TV: Bozell Addresses PBS Editing Out Tina Fey’s Anti-Palin Jokes at Mark Twain Prize Ceremony

Upon receiving the Kennedy Center's Mark Train Prize for American Humor on November 9, comedian Tina Fey trashed Sarah Palin in her acceptance speech. By the time PBS broadcast the taped ceremony, the taxpayer-subsidized network had edited out some of Fey's harsher jokes that maligned the former Alaska governor. NewsBusters publisher and Media Research Center founder Brent Bozell appeared in studio on today's “Fox & Friends” to address the controversy, lauding PBS for doing the right thing by making those edits. MRC’s Bozell Addresses Anti-Tax Cut Bias, ‘Islamophobia’ on ‘Hannity,’ Anti-Tea Party Bias on ‘Fox & Friends’

Closing out the “Media Mash” segment on the September 16 edition of his eponymous “Hannity” program, the Fox News host asked for NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell’s reaction to NBC’s Meredith Vieira telling House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.) that the Bush tax cuts “didn’t succeed” and asking him “what’s so good about them?”: Memo to Meredith [Vieira]: You can have a debate about what future tax cuts might or might not result in but a record is a record. Under George Bush, 8 million jobs were created with his tax cuts. With Ronald Reagan’s tax cuts there were 20 million jobs created. We’ve done nothing but lose jobs with Barack Obama with the stimulus package. Truth is truth, facts are facts. Don’t go on television saying it didn’t work. It did work! The economy-boosting, jobs-creating benefits of across-the-board tax cuts are not all the media are not telling the truth about. The Media Research Center founder and president also addressed how the media, particularly ABC’s Christiane Amanpour are smearing everyday Americans as “Islamophobic” [Listen to MP3 audio here or download WMV video here ]: There comes a point where the American people should say to Christiane Amanpour, “Please shut up!” I am sick and tired of this. Just like Arizona, Sean.  If you raise a policy question, you’re a bigot for saying it….We did a study on soundbites I think it was the last month, did you know that 93 percent of the soundbites talk about Islamophobia in the news media. They can’t stop talking about it. And when they talk about a handful of people that that pastor [Terry Jones] caused an international incident. No! He did not cause that incident, they caused the incident with the non-stop coverage.  This morning Bozell appeared via satellite on “Fox & Friends” to discuss the media’s anti-Tea Party bias, particularly their recent obsession with bashing Christine O’Donnell [download MP3 audio of segment here or WMV video here] : What was the great story on Tuesday night. It was not just that Christine O’Donnell won, it was that 60,000 votes were cast when it’s normally 30,000 [and] for a candidate who had no money to campaign on. That was the [real] story, but all you got instead was ad hominem attacks.

MRC-TV: Brent Bozell on Hannity: ‘Obama Needs the Media to Pull His Chestnuts Out of the Fire’

MRC President and NewsBusters founder Brent Bozell appeared on Friday night’s Hannity and knocked a soft Obama interview by George Stephanopoulos and Harry Smith ‘s contention on CBS that the stimulus bill wasn’t “big enough.” He quipped, “Obama needs the media to pull his chestnuts out of the fire.” Tackling the media’s most egregious examples of liberal bias, Bozell joked, “Just a couple hundred billion dollars more.” He added, “Only a liberal Democrat like Harry Smith believes that a spending bill of $862 billion isn’t big enough.” The Media Mash segment also featured a clip of Stephanopoulos deriding House Republican leader John Boehner for his “deep tan.” Bozell wondered why reporters, on the eve of the 2006 elections, didn’t ask Nancy Pelosi “where she got her botox?” Other topics discussed, Richard Engel’s musing on the Today show that Saddam Hussein was becoming “more moderate” before the Iraq war.

Next Wednesday: An Important Announcement from Brent Bozell

Brent Bozell, the founder and president of the Media Research Center, and publisher of NewsBusters, will be making an important announcement at 7 p.m. (Eastern Time) on Wednesday, September 15. This announcement will be made via live web broadcast and you won’t want to miss it! The liberal media are in panic mode. The Obama experiment in socialism is failing. Americans are waking up and rising up for freedom and limited government. America is truly at a crossroads of history. The next few months may very well determine whether socialism or freedom will be the dominant force in American government for decades to come. The Media Research Center will not watch this struggle unfold from the sidelines and we know that you don’t plan to either. On September 15, Brent will reveal our plans to defend our nation’s founding principles. We invite you to join us here . Ronald Reagan once said, “You can always trust the American people.” We at the Media Research Center feel that this is just as true now as it ever was, but it is critical that they have the Truth. It is crucial that conservatives around the country have the tools to stand strong in the face of relentless whitewashing and misinformation about the leftist media and the many failures and misdeeds of the Obama Administration.  We at the MRC are committed to make sure that you have those tools. Please tune in on Sept. 15 for Brent’s important announcement, and invite your friends to do the same by forwarding this email to them.
