Lawsuits: Parents Of 6-Year-Old Colorado Transgender Girl “Coy” File Complaint Because School Barred Her From Using The Ladies Room

Transgender discrimination is real in the field… Even for elementary school kids! Just last week parents in Massachusetts were mad over trans kids being able to use any bathroom they want. But these parents are fighting to make sure their kid is treated like any other little girl. Via ABCNews Reports : Coy Mathis, born a male triplet, has behaved like a girl since she was 18 months old. When her brother Max was consumed with dinosaurs, she was playing with Barbie dolls. By 4, she was telling her mother that something was wrong with her body. When Coy began complaining about “something wrong” with her body, her parents took her to a specialist, who diagnosed gender identity disorder. Doctors recommended no immediate medical intervention but to let her “live as a girl,” he explained. “They spoke to the school and they said, ‘fine.’” Since being enrolled at Eagle Elementary School in Fountain, Colo., the 6-year-old has presented as female and wearing girls’ clothing. Her classmates and teachers have used female pronouns to refer to her, and she has used the girls’ bathrooms. But since December, school officials have told her parents she can no longer use the female facilities and ordered her to use the boys’ or nurse’s bathroom. “We want Coy to have the same educational opportunities as every other Colorado student,” said Kathryn Mathis, Coy’s mother. “Her school should not be singling her out for mistreatment just because she is transgender.” Now Jeremy and Kathryn Mathis, with the help of the Transgender Legal and Defense Education Fund (TLDEF), have filed a complaint with the Colorado Civil Rights Division on behalf of Coy, alleging that the school has violated her rights. Since Christmas vacation, Coy has been homeschooled. “Our eye is focused on getting Coy back into school,” said TLDEF’s executive director Michael Silverman. “We are hopeful we can resolve this quickly for Coy’s sake.” The Mathis family and their supporters gathered at the State House in Denver Wednesday to bring media attention their action against the school. “The parents of Coy Mathis … have chosen to publicize this matter by appearing on a nationally televised show with their child, sharing their point of view with national and local media, and holding a public press conference to announce the filing of the charge,” the Fountain School District said in a prepared statement. “The district firmly believes it has acted reasonably and fairly with respect to this issue,” it said. “However [it] believes the appropriate and proper forum for discussing the issues identified in the charge is through the Division of Civil Rights process.” The school district said it would not comment further until they have formally responded to the charge. But a Dec. 12 letter from the school’s lawyers to TLDEF said, “The district’s decision took into account not only Coy but other students in the building, their parents, and the future impact a boy with male genitals using a girls’ bathroom would have as Coy grew older.” While other students and teachers do not notice that Coy has male genitals, the school said it feared as the child developed parents and students would become “uncomfortable.” “…It would be far more psychologically damaging and disruptive for the issue to arise at an age when students deal with social issues,” the letter said. The Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act prohibits discrimination against transgender students in public schools. Coy’s parents worry that the school’s policy is setting their child up for stigma and bullying. “We have five children and we love them all very much,” said Kathryn Mathis. “We want Coy to return to school to be with her teachers, her friends, and her siblings, but we are afraid to send her back until we know that the school is going to treat her fairly. She is still just 6 years old, and we do not want one of our daughter’s earliest experiences to be our community telling her she’s not good enough.” The Mathis’ have a set of triplets and two other children, Dakota, 8, and Auri, 2. The father, Jeremy Mathis, 31, is a former Marine who was honorably discharged with injuries. Kathryn Mathis, 27, is a certified nurse assistant and takes care of Coy’s triplet, Lily who has been severely disabled since a viral infection after birth. She must be fed through an IV and is quadriplegic. It sounds like this family has a lot to contend with and we’re not sure why the school needs to get all into details about Coy’s “male genitals” being that girls bathrooms have stalls anyway! What the hell??? Who do you think is right on this issue?

Never in one million years did I think I would ever get the…

Never in one million years did I think I would ever get the chance to write a Bieber experience, never mind this happen to me. It is so hard to put it into words but I will try my best. The very first time I laid eyes on Justin was 07/11/11. Justin was coming to Westfield Shopping Centre to promote ‘Under The Mistletoe’ and turn on the Christmas lights. I travelled 5 hours down to London and then waited around 7 hours for a wristband. I met so many amazing girls while I was waiting. Finally Justin arrived. Even though it was short, it was the most amazing thing,. I burst out crying as soon as he came on stage! You can watch the show here . I’m in the video too! The second time I saw Justin was at the Capital Summer Time Ball. But then it was time for the Believe Tour. As soon as I knew, Believe UK tickets were coming out on sale. I went on to my BieberFever account and got my pre-sale code! I bought tickets to Sheffield, but unfortunately, around 2 days later I checked my emails and saw it was cancelled. My heart sank. I thought, “I bet all the tickets are sold out now!” but when I looked through my emails again, I saw that I could get some for Manchester , as they had reserved some seats for BieberFever users. I was SO happy! I then entered the Best Collection competition for meet and greets but unfortunately I didn’t win it. I lost all hope of EVER meeting Justin and I just felt empty. But, I was still happy I would be seeing him the next day!  My best friend and I arrived at the arena and we were just so hyped. Our tickets were great: Block J, row A, seat 1 & 2. We had also made personalized tops in hope to stand out and get noticed! When Justin first came on, Kenny walked straight past me! I reached my hand out, he smiled and held it then walked off. I was fan-girling SO MUCH. It was around the time when Justin was singing ‘Never Say Never’ when  I saw Allison walking down the isle next to me. When she walked past, she looked at me for about 5 seconds then walked off. I knew she was picking the OLLG. She walked past another two times but she didn’t seem interested in me. Then ‘Beauty And A Beat’ was on, when I felt a tap on the shoulder. My heart froze, and I turned around. “Do you know what I’m about to ask you?” Allison said. I just froze and started hyperventilating. “Do you want to be the one less lonely girl?”  “YES!!!” I screamed, and turned to my best friend screaming. I held Allison’s hand and started walking down the isle screaming at everyone I past. I kept saying, “Thank you!!!!” to her and I just kept looking at the stage and thinking how I would be up there soon! I was backstage and Allison was telling me what to do, but I just couldn’t understand anything. Everything felt like a dream, it was so magical.  She said “Whats your name?” so I said “Harriet” and she said, “What’s your name tonight?” and I replied, “ONE LESS LONELY GIRL!”  She was just asking me if I had my phone and making sure my shorts and top were alright. Then, someone was walking up to us, and then I realized it was FREDO!  Straight away I went and gave him a massive hug and he squeezed me! He said, “Well done!” I started crying and shaking, but Fredo told me to save it until I’m out there and to be happy, so I did! Fredo gave me a high five then started filming me. I walked up some small steps towards the stage as Fredo was still filming. Then suddenly I felt a tap on the shoulder, and it was Ryan! I gave him a huge hug and we were just chatting, they are all SO nice, the dancers as well. I knew it was near to the part where I come on stage, and I was shaking so much. I asked Allison if I can talk to Justin after but she said he has to go straight back on stage. The dancers opened the curtains and I just focused my eyes on Justin. He turned around and reached his hand out to me. I completely forgot there were 20,000 people watching and just walked to him. He took my hand, and sat me down on the chair. His eyes were so beautiful, I was lost in them. He put the OLLG crown on me and put his hand on my back. WAS I DREAMING? JUSTIN BIEBER SAT IN FRONT OF ME, SINGING TO ME! I started singing along to the words. Then he came up next to me again and put his arm on my back. I hugged him, feeling his PERFECT body. I rested my head on him. It was seriously like heaven. Then he came in front of me, and held my hand. I was still in denial it was happening to me. Then he finished the song and I gave him a hug. Justin asked, “What’s your name?” “Harriet..” “What?” (CAN I JUST SAY THIS WAS SO SEXY – he raised his eyebrows and he just looked beautiful) “Harriet? Everyone give it up for Harriet!” He stepped down, linked his arm out for me, and I stepped down and held on to his arms, I couldn’t resist.  I said, “I love you Justin!” and he said “I love you too!” and we ran off together. When we went off, Justin had to go back on stage, and Allison said to me, “How was it?!”  and I said “PERFECT!” We were walking back down the small stairs and I was shaking so much. I said to her, “I think I’m going to faint,” and she said, “Don’t do that til we are down the stairs!”  Fredo came up to us with his camera and I said thank you too them both and we started walking back to our seats. I was so shaky, confused, happy, LOST IN CONFUSION! Just then my best friend, Ebonie, saw me and we ran to each other and gave each other the BIGGEST hug. We were both just crying with happiness! Fredo filmed the whole thing! They went round back stage, and I was just telling Ebonie all about it. I just wanted to say, that I am never lucky, ever. Everything about Justin is so perfect, and you have to believe that your dream will come true one day.  This is a memory I will keep forever, and I will never take it for granted . God was with me that night and I am so blessed. Remember – NEVER SAY NEVER! Thank you so much for reading my Bieber experience, and it was an honor to finally be able to write one. -@JDBbelievetour Video of me as OLLG in Manchester  See more here: Never in one million years did I think I would ever get the…

Poor Thang: Khloe Traumatized Over Being The Chubby Lumpkins Kardashian, Fears Facing Lifelong Public Struggle With Fatness Like Kirstie Alley

Poor lil thickummms rich girl… Even though Khloe Kardashian-Odom acts as if her weight is no biggie, word on the street is she’s distraught over being a chubby lumpkins. Via National Enquirer reports : KHLOE KARDASHIAN claims she’s happy not being a size 4, but she really hates her queen-size figure and dreads becoming the next Kirstie Alley, say insiders. “Khloe is traumatized,” a source told The ENQUIRER. “She’s been moaning to her closest pals that she’ll be fat forever, and the constant weight jabs she received while hosting ‘The X Factor’ haven’t made things any better!” While promoting the diet pill QuickTrim in 2009, the leggy 5-foot-10 reality star claimed to have dropped 30 pounds. But a year later Khloe, 28, appeared to have packed the pounds back on, and her weight gain sparked so much speculation about a possible pregnancy that she eventually told reporters: “I’m not pregnant, I’m just fat.” Adding to the public scrutiny, beautiful Khloe has been forced to endure the public humiliation of her pregnancy struggles and rumors of her husband Lamar Odom’s wandering eye. “Her sisters Kourtney and Kim have gotten pregnant while Khloe has continued to undergo pricey fertility treatments,” pointed out the source. “Besides that, learning that Lamar paid money to watch skrippers has been another huge blow to her confidence.” In the past, Khloe welcomed posing with her svelte sisters, sources say. But she dodged joining them for the Kardashian clan’s Christmas photo last year, and asked that her photo be airbrushed into the picture. “KHLOE DOESN’T WANT TO BE THE next Kirstie Alley, yo-yo dieting her way up the scale,” the source added. And now Khloe’s weight woes are being compounded by reports that she’s not being asked back to co-host “The X Factor.” “She hasn’t heard anything definite yet, but Khloe’s been told that producers are against having her back,” said the source. “And that prospect has hit her hard. “Meanwhile, no matter what she says publicly about her being happier at a higher weight, privately Khloe is tormented.” Poor Khloe… Considering she’s like 6 feet tall, do you think people have unrealistic expectations about her size? Taylor Swift Gives Us A Little Leg Action

For reasons I don’t entirely understand, Taylor Swift attended the Brit Award s last night, I guess because she’s still looking for a new boyfriend. And for reasons I definitely don’t understand, she went almost entirely covered up. Sure, I know there’s some nice leg action going on under there, but after the International Cleavage Tour we’ve been getting the past couple weeks, this is kinda disappointing. Hopefully Taylor brings it a little better at the next tour stop. » view all 30 photos Related Articles: Taylor Swift Unleashes The Cleavage Now That She’s Single Taylor Swift Swimsuit Pictures Taylor Momsen Drunk, Disorderly And Pantless Taylor Swift Gets Leggy For Christmas Photos: WENN.com

Dina Lohan: Drunk, Spouting Nonsense at the Grove

Dina Lohan celebrated Happy Hour at Morel’s steakhouse at The Grove in L.A. Friday afternoon … and apparently didn’t hold back on the cocktails. Her bizarre behavior afterwards brought back the memories of Dina Lohan drunk on Dr. Phil . Take a look at this “interview” she gave on the street: Dina Lohan Drunk at the Grove Dina was quick to dismiss reports that she and her troubled daughter, Lindsay Lohan , couldn’t find an L.A. hotel that would take them in last week. “That is such BS!” the matriarch stated, incredulously. “We’re at the Beverly Hills Hotel, we’re all good.” The cameraman then gives Dina a compliment on her jacket, but she appears unable to focus and process this, exclaiming, “We’re going shopping!” “What are you going to buy?” The cameraman asks DiLo. “Lindsay gave me this jacket for Christmas… nice jacket.” Dina also continues to try and ignore the pack of celebrity news photographers following her and instead focuses her attention on the other shoppers. “I love her, and your pink backpack … purple,” Dina says. “Wait, is there a train coming?” a confused Dina then asks, looking down at the tracks that carry a passenger trolley back and forth through The Grove. “I don’t need to get run over!” When asked what her plans for the future are, she diverts her attention to another child and says, “Adopting that little child walking over there! “Oh my god, can I like, babysit her?” Dina asks the mom. Ah, happy hours in LA-LA land.

The Battle Of The Big Booties: JLo Vs. CoCo

Two of the biggest booties in Hollywood, Jennifer Lopez and CoCo Austin , were at the Parker premiere last night showing off their most famous assets. Now, I know Jennifer’s in the movie, but I’m not quite sure why CoCo was there. Maybe the producers invited her to put J-Lo on notice after she’d had her booty in hiding for so long. Whatever the reason, it worked. I can’t choose which booty I like better though, I’d have to do the quarter bouncing test to see which one is tighter. Taylor Swift’s Cleavage Is Back On Tour

I don’t know what’s gotten into Taylor Swift here, but whatever it is, I want more of it. For a girl who usually shows up to events like this dressed like she’s middle-aged, Taylor was rocking some serious cleavage at the 2013 40 Principales Awards in Madrid, whatever the hell those are. Anyway, I guess I was a little premature in proclaiming the 2013 Taylor Swift Cleavage Tour officially over . Apparently tickets are still available, and the show’s going international.
