Source: FOX / Getty Jussie Smollett was the victim of a possible hate crime in the early morning hours of Tuesday (January 29). According to TMZ’s report above, the actor arrived in Chicago from New York late Monday, and at around 2 AM he was hungry and went to a Subway. Two men both white and wearing ski masks viciously attacked Jussie as he fought back, but they beat him badly and fractured a rib. The attack was so violent that Smollett had to be admitted and treated at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Well this is a national tragedy. A global catastrophe. Jeremy Roloff, who is not feuding with his brother , made a pledge to cut off his glorious mane of hair if his charity goal was reached. The charity threshold was met, and Jeremy's hair went on the chopping block. There's a video, if you can bear it. “Well, it happened,” Jeremy writes in the captions of a teaser video on Instagram. He follows those words with a scissors emoji. If you immediately feared the worst — that he has cut his hair — you are sadly correct. “And I’d be lying if I didn’t say it’s bitter sweet,” he admits. Jeremy provides context: “I’ve been growing my hair since September 2014.” “But I needed a change,” he claims. “And it’s for a good cause.” “Speaking of change,” Jeremy continues. “Because of you who decided to give,” he writes. “We will be changing the lives of over 500 folks.” These are people, Jeremy explains, “who currently don’t have access to clean drinking water.” That is a plight known by so many people. We're glad that his sacrifice is making a real difference. “So thank you!” he says. Jeremy even reveals some numbers. “We raised just over 15k for @charitywater,” Jeremy writes. As you would assume, Charity Water is an organization dedicated to bringing access to clean water to those who do not have it. “And with their 1:1 model,” he continues. “Every dollar will go toward water projects.” Jeremy congratulates his fans and followers: “Nice work you guys!!” “Thanks @jackbotti For the rad video per usual,” he notes. As you can see in the video that we included, it is a well put together video, even if the subject matter is heartbreaking. “If you don’t already,” Jeremy suggests. “And you like good videos, give him a follow!” He then teases that, at the end of the full video, fans and followers can see Ember's reaction. That is true enough. The video ends with Audrey desperately, desperately trying to get a reaction out of precious baby Ember Jean. See, some babies do not take it well the first time that they see a parent with different hair (or with or without a beard). It's not a lack of object permanence, it's because they are still working out how to recognize faces — and we all struggle with that sometimes. Ember could clearly not give a flip. Maybe she's hungry or sleepy or doesn't know what to make of Jeremy's horrific new hairdo. Maybe Ember is just observing a moment of silence for her father's late, great, glorious mane. You can see the final, unspeakable version of Jeremy's hair in the video that we have included with this post. Obviously, it is Jeremy's hair. As with the rest of his body, he can do with it as he pleases. But that doesn't mean that the rest of us can't pour one out in memory of the magnificent hair that was. The Behavioral Analysis Unit will soon shutter its doors. For good. CBS announced on Thursday that Criminal Minds has been renewed for a 15th season, delivering great news to fans of this long-running drama… yet tempering their mood with some awful news. This will be the 15th and FINAL season. The concluding run will consist of 10 episodes, the network added, bringing the show’s total by the time all it said, done and solved to an astounding 325 installments. “It’s really bittersweet, but I’m so, so grateful to CBS for giving us this heads-up,” showrunner Erica Messer told TV Line of getting the news. She added: “I think one of my biggest fears was always, ‘Oh man, what if we don’t know’ and then they just don’t bring back the show? But they respect this series and the cast and the crew and the fans enough to end this properly.” The procedural is one of the longest-running dramas on CBS. “We wanted to make sure Erica had the time and ability to write a season (14) finale that honors the characters and the fans,” CBS Executive Vice President of Current Programs Amy Reisenbach told Deadline. “We discussed wanting to keep the show in continuous production so 10 felt like the right number for us to roll straight into and give Erica enough episodes to end the series the way she wanted to.” Speaking to Deadline, Messer also explained that the final season will film immediately following the conclusion of the current season — and that a major character may be killed off. Look for a “very worthy” adversary for the team to be introduced, she previewed, especially David Rossi. The bad guy will be introduced later in Season 14. “We have one in the works right now who’s a very memorable villain, but I don’t want to say too much if it doesn’t work out with casting,” Messer added. Messer has been in charge of Criminal Minds since it premiered. It is averaging 4.7 million total viewers and a 0.8 rating among 18-49-year olds in its Wednesdays-at-10/9c time slot. Season 14 will wrap up for viewers on February 6, so look for a huge cliffhanger that will make you hunger for the final season in 2019-2020. Messer, meanwhile, has had plenty of time to figure out how she wants the series to say goodbye. But that vision has also changed throughout the past decade-plus of being on the air. “That journey has changed a lot from the early days on the show because I wouldn’t have anticipated all the changes that’ve happened,” she said to Deadline. “I also don’t know if I would’ve anticipated that we’d have 325 episodes by the time it’s all said and done. It’s such an honor to be part of a series for that long.” This is how she concluded the interview, talking about the finale and what we can expect: “These people are family and friends to us at this point. I know it’s a drama, but I’m less likely to injure or write someone off in a way that says they’re not breathing anymore. I know a lot of shows, when they find out it’s going to be over, then characters are killed off or something like that. That’s not my instinct, mainly because I’ve been here for so long with all of these voices, I just don’t want that to be how it ends for them. So the jet won’t crash, I can tell you that.
As the CEO of Amazon, Jeff Bezos runs a company that presumably knows what all its customers want at all times. Along similar lines, meanwhile, Bezos purported to know exactly what Lauren Sanchez wanted last year, as lewd text messages sent from the mega billionaire to his alleged mistress has now been revealed. In case you are not caught up on this story: Bezos and MacKenzie, his wife of 25 years, announced to the world yesterday that they are filing to divorce . This is the fate of approximately half the marriages in the United States, of course, but this particular split initially stood out for one major reason: – Bezos is the richest human being on the planet and everyone is speculating about how much money MacKenzie will get in their settlement. A few hours after the divorce was confirmed by both parties, however, Internet users were given a second reason to care about this break-up: – Bezos may have cheated on MacKenzie with Sanchez, the estranged wife of a close friend and the original host of So You Think You Can Dance. Numerous outlets reported on this infidelity yesterday, with the overwhelming take being that Bezos and Sanche started seeing each other about eight months ago. It sounds like she was definitely in the middle of a divorce from husband Patrick Whitesell at the time — but questions still exist over whether or not Bezos was separated from his wife when he started to bone Sanchez. (For the record, the two couples at the center of this scandal have been tight for approximately a decade. They often hung out together in Seattle.) As for why Bezos went public with his split this week? Sources say he wanted to do so before racy text messages he sent to Sanchez were made public. In this regard, he succeeded: the divorce announcement has been released. But so have the text messages, as of Thursday morning!!!! In one message obtained by The National Enquirer, supposedly from April 2018, Bezos wrote: I love you, alive girl. I will show you with my body, and my lips and my eyes, very soon. In another, supposedly from May 2018, he wrote: I want to smell you, I want to breathe you in. I want to hold you tight. …I want to kiss your lips….I love you. I am in love with you. This is a photo of Lauren Sanchez, so it’s not as if we don’t understand where Bezos was coming from: But if he was still in a fully committed marriage to MacKenzie? Not cool, dude. An attorney for Bezos told The Enquirer that Bezos and his wife have been “long separated” and only chose to inform everyone else on Wednesday. And this is entirely possible, of course. Details about Bezos’ romance with Sanchez are still coming in, just like Bezos was apparently coming… sorry. Nevermind. As for the divorce? TMZ reports that no prenuptial agreement is in place. The couple will file divorce papers in Washington, where community property rules and, therefore, all earnings and income during the marriage can legally be split down the middle. Most of Jeff’s wealth is tied up in Amazon stock, but the estranged couple does own 400,000 acres of property together. They are the biggest landowners in the country. Sorting out the division of assets will be complicated and we may not know for many months how much MacKenzie will walk away with after her marriage is officially over. There’s lots of drama, but not in an amusing ratchet kinda way, it’s more like, “I hope they’ll be okay when the cameras go off and get the therapy they need.” We begin the episode with Juelz Santana and Kimbella trying to get on the same page, especially since he’s going to jail soon. They’re also trying to figure out when to tell their kids that pops is going to prison. That hasn’t happened yet, but it’s coming. The only positive news for them is that the courts allowed Juelz to move back in with Kimbella and their children so he can spend more time with them before he goes down. Now that Nya Lee and Rich Dollaz have made peace, it’s time for Nya Lee and Sidney Starr to make peace, according to Rich Dollaz. Rich basically wants Nya Lee to groom Sidney Starr as an artist. Plus, he’s putting this “new Nya Lee” to the test so he brings them together to have a peace talk. They both surprisingly take their petty hats off and actually manage to get right. All is forgiven. Now let’s cut to the part where Sidney Starr brings some music she has been working on to the studio for Jaquae and Rich Dollaz to listen to. Sidney bombs. It’s not the best music, but nothing worse than some of the other stuff we’ve heard on this show. However, Rich goes off on her. He feels like she’s wasting his time and not as hungry as she says she is. Sidney is hurt, but determined, so she takes the song to Nya Lee to see what she thinks. Nya Lee thinks it’s just ok and tells her it wasn’t the best, which is true. But like, what have we heard of Nya Lee’s that was actually amazing? Anyway, Nya Lee basically tells Sidney that it’s possible to be authentic without being extra and without constantly mentioning that she’s transgender, especially since people already know. Sidney goes into this spiel about, that’s who she is and how she’s coming to terms with some of the dishonest things she has done, like lying to the media about having bottom surgery (she still has a penis), and the times where she wasn’t honest with men she had sex with about being trans. Sidney states that she’s turning over a new leaf because she wants to live, and Nya Lee points out something that hits home. She suggests that Sidney actually feels alone and overcompensates for that by being over-the-top. Sidney agrees and Nya Lee says that she knows the feeling so she plans to genuinely be there for Sidney. Juelz Santana finally has his moment where he tells his children that he’s going away. The kids are obviously sad about it. Jonathan is still on his Be a Better Person Tour so he links up with Rich Dollaz to apologize for his behavior over the situation with Anais. Rich forgives him. But then Jonathan says he has been trying to get back in touch with Anais due to a concerning pic she posted on social media, but he can’t reach her. Interestingly enough, Rich and Anais reconnected since all that drama went down between them. It turns out, Anais called Rich from a mental institution because Ruben had her committed. She has been in an out for about a month, refusing to take her medicine and rambling on about conspiracies. Jonathan starts crying and says he’s worried, but Rich tells him it’s best to give her space and let her come around when she’s ready. Their friendship was quite toxic as we all saw. Sure, Jonathan is committed to being a better friend than he has been, but he’s just going to have to wait this one out. Finally, we end the episode with Cyn and Joe’s problems. Cyn stops him to talk as he’s on his way to work and although he doesn’t want to talk now, he does so anyway to avoid Cyn getting even more upset with him. But she still gets even more upset with him because he just doesn’t seem to understand where she’s coming from. Actually, they’re not understanding each other, which is why Cyn wanted to talk. She feels neglected because he’s always working. Then she says he hasn’t even noticed that she has been depressed (this is code for her possibly having postpartum depression). He remains stoic and wry and tells her that his work is 25/8 and that he can’t not work until he’s in a position where he can slack up a bit. Basically, he wants her to get help for her depression and a nanny too. The latter was supposed to be the compromise but Cyn doesn’t want a nanny. Then he tells her he’s fine if they break up if she’s not depressed. Yeah, this doesn’t end well. We obviously know that they’re engaged by now, but it’s going to be interesting to see how they finally get it together. Let some tell it, she kind of bombed, so much so that she was booed, prompting some folks at her sold-out show to walk out. Apparently, “The Last O.G.” star had been “partying all night,” still had some “Ciroc in her system” and had trouble remembering her lines. She ended up cutting her set short, but to make sure the audience still had a good time, she invited some folks up on stage to enjoy some of her vodka and see if they could do stand-up better than her. “F–k it,” she declared. “I really wanted to talk about some stuff and can’t remember none of it.” Was her behavior disappointing? Most definitely. Should everyone get a refund? Absolutely. However, unlike most of your male comedian faves, the 39-year-old took complete accountability for her actions, tweeting on Tuesday, “Yes this happened. I wish it was better Miami. She has not proven the ability to tell jokes back to back for an hour to nobody,” Williams said. She said she’s got a diseased vajayjay ain’t nobody checking for that.” Even her own “Last O.G.” co-star Tracey Morgan showed his ass during a 2018 interview, literally acting like someone stole his bike when asked what it was like to work with the “Girls Trip” comedienne . And it’s completely OK for her and her humor to not be your cup of tea. I’ll be the first one to admit that I’m still figuring out how I feel about her, her love for Taylor Swift’s collard greens and that whole #WhoBitBeyonce mess , but this hatred for her just doesn’t make any sense. Or maybe it does. Too often, when Black women have the audacity to excel at their craft, especially in areas that are male dominated, there will always be insecure men who will do and say anything to undermine that success. Hence, all these new rules that Black women have to follow and double standards we must adhere to that men never have to abide by. See, our greatness isn’t always looked at something to celebrate, it can be seen as a threat and a roadblock to other’s accomplishments. ‘Cause be crystal clear: We’re all Black queens, until our stars begin to shine brighter than theirs. Tiffany Haddish just happens to be the one currently in the crosshairs of that misogynist nonsense and her bombing in Miami continues to show us that as Black women we aren’t allowed to make mistakes. There is no room for error. We have to work harder, be smarter and be flawless in order for our talent to get a sliver of the recognition our mediocre male counterparts garner. But whether you love or hate her, Ms. Haddish isn’t going anywhere, but up. Jon Gosselin just took a very passive aggressive dig at his ex-wife. This isn’t exactly new, of course, considering all Jon and Kate have said about each other over the years. In this case, however, Jon used one of the former couple’s children to slam Kate where it likely hurts the most. For years, as loyal celebrity gossip fans likely know, the public did not see much of Collin Gosselin. The young teenager wasn’t even included in his own birthday party because, presumably, he was away at a facility that assisted children with special needs. We’re just quoting Kate herself for this diagnosis. “Collin has special needs,” the TLC star told People Magazine in August of 2016. She added at the time: “[There’s] a fairly fluid diagnosis of what those needs are, but he needs to learn certain strategies to help him deal with things. “This has been a struggle we’ve had for a very long time, and it’s one I’ve dealt with on my own. I’ve felt very alone in this. “By the same token, it’s not something that has only impacted me or him – our entire family has been impacted.” Fair enough certainly, right? We’ve written very little on this subject and simply been wishing Collin the best. HOWEVER, Jon now has custody of Collin . He filed for custody several weeks ago and was then rewarded with full-time temporary custody of the 14-year old after Kate did not show up at a court hearing. Having talked openly about having Collin to himself at home and having shared a few photos of himself and his son, Jon responded this week to a question about Collin. “I’d love to know if he actually has ‘special needs,’ or if he just didn’t deal [with] Kate’s BS like we all suspect. Either way, he’s home! And he looks happy,” wrote an Internet users to Jon, who responded as follows: He is not on any spectrum or special needs . That’s quite the statement, really. Why has Collin been away from his family for two years in this case? Is Jon legitimately arguing that Kate is simply full of it and that Collin wanted to get as far away from his mother as possible? AND that Kate lied all this time about her child’s state of mind? Those are pretty wild accusations. As you can see above, Jon spent Christmas with kids Collin and Hannah, the latter of whom has been living with her dad all year, yet who is still under the legal custody of her mother. The kids and their dad also hung out with Jon’s girlfriend, Colleen, and her children. Kate, for her part, did not release any holiday photos and has not commented on this ugly custody situation in a very long time. But she has defended her decision to send Collin away on multiple occasions. “It was not even a really a choice, it was on the advice of his doctors and it had to happen,” she said on a November 2016 episode of ABC’s Nightline, concluding back then: “He’s plodding along and we are too. This is the best thing I can do for him right now and that comforts me.”

Source: Matt Dinerstein / Fox It’s the fall finale of Empire and you can expect to feel a lot of feels! Tonight’s episode moves season five’s storyline forward in a major way and of course, we get left with a major cliffhanger. We pick up this week’s episode with Bella pointing the gun up at her chin. Thankfully, she doesn’t shoot herself as Hakeem manages to diffuse the situation. Cookie and Lucious take this as their chance to respectively lecture the former lovebirds. Cookie apologizes to Tiana for encouraging the toxic ride or die mentality. Lucious tells Hakeem that he shouldn’t even feel the need to carry a gun because he’s the only one in the family that doesn’t have blood on his hands (ironically) and should stay that way. Lucious points out that there will come a time when he and Cookie may have to face a lot more karma they have coming to them and he may be the one who has to take over the empire for real. The best thing to happen on tonight’s episode is that Andre finally got Quincy out of prison! He got another inmate who was never going to see the light of day again to confess to the crime that Quincy was falsely accused of. So that’s that. Quincy’s mom wants to pursue a relationship with Andre but he’s understandably afraid and fate may just not allow it. Now it’s the holidays and everyone is in Christmas mode, especially Cookie and Lucious. The best gift ever is when Kai drops his report about how Kingsley has been selling people’s data, via Empire, to the highest bidder, including the FBI. Cookie and Lucious are thrilled while Kingsley is pissed and Giselle and Becky are nervous. Patel is pissed because this is messing with his other businesses and he tells Giselle and Kingsley they better figure out who’s going to fall on the sword. Kingsley decides it’s going to be Becky. He claims to have video chats that prove she was working with Lucious and makes a spectacle of having her escorted out, but this is part of a larger plan. Becky is furious and says this isn’t true. Now, we all know what she did for Thirsty, but this ain’t that. Kingsley is trying to scapegoat her for a larger plan because when Giselle asks to see the footage, Kingsley tells her, “Sink or swim” and that’s enough to shut Giselle down for a minute. Plus, Thirsty said the USB he gave Becky was untraceable and we all know Thirsty’s plots are airtight when it comes to covering tracks because he’s the real MVP. Not all heroes wear capes. Kai informs Jamal that he got some more intel about criminal activity that happened at Empire under Lucious. He wants to release it, being the journalist that he is, but he won’t for now. Plus, his producers in London want to give him a full-time spot. Basically, this means he’s not sure where he and Jamal’s relationship stand and we’re all super confused. Like, did you two not just get engaged? Anyway, let’s cut to the Lyon Family Management showcase. You already know everything goes down at the showcases! So, here we are. It starts off all-good. Hakeem, Blake, and Tiana perform their song. Cheers to their truce. Meanwhile, in an office upstairs, Lucious comes face to face with Kingsley and snaps. He starts beating the breaks off of Kingsley and probably would have killed him had Giselle not stepped in and told him that Kingsley is his son. Lucious is stunned and only manages to eek out, “That’s impossible.” From there, Lucious takes a break from the showcase to visit Kingsley’s mother, Tracy, in the hospital right quick. Tracy, in the hospital and we flashback to the 80s. It’s what we already know: He was her dealer, but she also liked “hanging out” with him. Back in the present, Tracy wakes up and tells Lucious that she knew he’d come back. Lucious is still in denial about Kingsley being his son, claiming that they only “hung out” a couple of times. We all know that it really only takes one time, but at the same time, you get the feeling that there’s a chance that Lucious isn’t the father. Tracy encourages him to take a DNA test. There’s also flashback information that shows us that Tracy actually brought Kingsley to Lucious’ home once when Andre and Jamal were really young. She mentioned that she was clean but didn’t have the heart to tell Lucious that Kingsley was his son since he wouldn’t let them in the house and was generally acting shady. Cookie also startled him because she shouted out wanting to know who was at the door, which got him shook enough to tell Tracy to go away and not to come back. That was also the day Tracy got hooked back on drugs (Lucious gave her the money and encouraged her to get taken care of). Trigger much? Lucious manages to get back to the showcase in time for Giselle to tell them what Kingsley is trying to do to Becky and to make a deal to save her own shady arse. Giselle says she has more information that can help get Kingsley out but they must agree to make her co-partner when/if Lucious takes control of Empire again. Lucious says he’ll think about it. Cookie really just wants them to move forward, but the allure of getting Empire back is strong for Lucious. Lucious also has to tell her about Kingsley, but he gets derailed when Porsha summons her to the stage. Cookie starts off with a nice speech about their victory, but Kingsley crashes the party and blows up Lucious’ spot. Everyone is stunned when Kingsley reveals that Lucious is his father and that he used to sell his mother drugs. Cookie, the ridiest ride or die chick there ever was, is so disturbed that she walks off stage. Finally, Andre confronts Kingsley and says he will end him but Kingsley’s chilling reply is, “Not unless I end you first baby bro, bring it!’ Then we cut to three months after that and we see Andre flatlining on a gurney. That doesn’t mean that Andre is the person who died, but it doesn’t…not mean that either. We know what show this is. We can expect anything to happen but one thing that’s certain is that the flashback storytelling is over and everything will move forward from here. See you in March.
