John Mayer Loves This Is Us as Much As You Do

John Mayer has scarcely been heard from in 2016. He hasn’t released a new album. He hasn’t played many live shows. He’s scarcely even dated around, with the exception of that rumored Demi Lovato hookup . But now we know why Mayer has been so quiet: He’s been busy catching up on television! Over the weekend, Mayer admitted that he’s already obsessed with This Is Us, the tear-jerking new NBC drama that has caused Kleenex sales to sky-rocket around the nation. “Just saw the first episode of This is Us and I’m hooked. Cryin’ and hooked,” Mayer wrote on Twitter. Unashamed and out in the open about his affection for the freshman series, the artist added: “Not even wiping away tears for the next episodes. Just gonna let the first ones create tracks for a more even, efficient flow.” Those who watch This Is Us online each week can likely agree that this is a good move. If anything, Mayer will cry even harder during episode two… and then even harder than that during episode three… and so on and so forth. Mayer’s fandom didn’t take long to reach Mandy Moore, who plays 1950s housewife Rebecca Pearson on the popular series. She took note of the singer’s Tweets and responded as follows: “Glad you’re digging it, @JohnMayer,” she wrote back. But that wasn’t enough for Mayer. He needed everyone to understand just how much he is digging This Is Us. Heck, he needs everyone to understand that he may need to invent a new word in order to underscore his feelings about the drama. “Beyond dig, @TheMandyMoore. I’m about to attempt one of the most emotionally reckless stunts ever: watching an episode ON AN AIRPLANE,” he Tweeted. HA! We’ve never liked John Mayer more. This Is Us centers around Moore, her TV husband (played by Milo Ventimiglia) and their three children. It takes viewers into the lives of numerous characters even jumps across numerous decades, while also featuring Sterling K. Brown and Justin Hartley in key roles. Oh, and it WILL make you cry. Johnny Manziel Enters Rehab, Seeks to "Improve" Himself

Following a dismal and embarrassing rookie campaign, NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel has entered a treatment facility. A first round draft pick out of Texas A&M, Manziel finished this season with just 112 total passing yards, two interceptions and zero touchdowns. The Browns were shutout in his only start and rumors circulated all year long of Manziel’s irresponsible, hard-partying, idiotic, Justin Bieber -like lifestyle. Advisor Brad Beckworth tells ESPN that Manziel checked in to rehab last Wednesday, though he did not provide a specific reason why. “Johnny knows there are areas in which he needs to improve in order to be a better family member, friend and teammate and he thought the offseason was the right time to take this step,” Beckworth said in a statement. We presume, in this case, the areas in which Manziel needs to improve do not include arm strength, accuracy or dedication to game film viewing. “On behalf of Johnny and his family, we’re asking for privacy until he rejoins the team in Cleveland,” Beckworth concluded. Katy Perry and John Mayer: Getting Close After the Super Bowl!

In case you somehow weren’t aware, Katy Perry’s Super Bowl performance rocked the audience’s world last night, and many are saying the pop queen turned in the best halftime show in years. But while Katy’s onstage decisions may have been inarguably on point ( Dancing sharks ! Missy Elliott!), her choice of post-game date has drawn plenty of side-eyes. Yes, that’s Katy with mega-douche ex, John Mayer. She’s also joined by the newly-trimmed down Missy Elliott, but we’ll limit our discussion to the dead weight that Katy needs to lose (the 210 pounds of D-bag to her right). Rumors that Perry and Mayer are back together have been circulating for several weeks, but this is the first photographic evidence of their reconciliation. Katy will never be the type to win any awards for her taste in men, but giving Mayer another chance is an astonishingly dumb move even for her. Of course, the fact that these two are seemingly officially back together (or at least enjoying a friends-with-benefits arrangement) raises some interesting questions about Katy’s performance. For months, Katy had been hinting that she would diss Taylor Swift at halftime, but when the big moment came, Swifty went unburned.  Could it be that Mayer encouraged Katy to go easy on his ex? Or perhaps Perry decided to let her rival slide now that she’s “won” the battle for Mayer’s heart. Either way, we’re pretty sure Taylor is having the last laugh.
