Aaaall Oh Oweoweow! ‘All That’ Revival Coming To Nickelodeon With Kenan Thompson As Executive Producer

Source: Ron Galella, Ltd. / Getty The Posse & The Crew From Back In The Day Set To Make Appearances All That  is coming back for a new generation thanks to Nickelodeon and alumni Kenan Thompson . According to Variety , Nickelodeon will be reviving the variety show with an all-new cast, and Thompson will serve as executive producer. Thompson, who is currently the longest running cast member on Saturday Night Live , got his start on All That when the show premiered in 1994. Other cast members are expected to make appearances on the upcoming revival. “It means everything to me,” Thompson told Variety . “It was my first job that I ever had. It gave me an opportunity.” President of Nickelodeon, Brian Robbins , is also excited for the revival, saying the show “stayed in the zeitgeist for many years.” “People are really fond of it,” Robbins continued. Robbins was the co-creator and an executive producer on the original show, which featured stars like Thompson, Kel Mitchell, Amanda Bynes, Nick Cannon and Jamie Spears during its run. Various spin-offs and similar shows followed the success of All That , such as The Amanda Show , Kenan and Kel and Drake and Josh.  “We think there’s a great opportunity to find the next pool of stars,” Robbins said. “We want to bring the show back in a real fun way. This summer, we are going to bring back a lot of the original cast and the cast through the years and let them introduce the new cast of All That to the world.” Robbins assured the show would be “a sort of mash-up of some of the old sketches and a lot of new sketches.” The idea pitched by Robbins was a “no-brainer” to Thompson. He said he and Robbins have “always remained close. He is one of my second fathers.” Thompson won’t be giving up his other job on SNL either, so he’s now making room for the many projects he has lined up. “If I’m not at the table read, I’ll be on the phone during the table read,’ he said. “I’ll be around.”

Steve Harvey: Trying to "Steal" Wendy Williams’ Talk Show?!

In recent weeks, Wendy Williams has been struggling with health issues that have prevented her from filming new episodes of her famously trashy talk show. Steve Harvey longs for a future in which you could channel surf for hours and see nothing but Steve Harvey with maybe the occasional glimpse of Kenan Thompson doing a Steve Harvey impression thrown in for variety. What do these two facts have to do with one another? Well, if a new report from Radar Online is to be believed, Wendy and Steve are embroiled in some sort of Shakespearean intrigue, and the media personality who emerges victorious will enjoy the coveted title of King or Queen of Syndicated Daytime Television. A source tells the site that producers are desperate for someone to fill in for Wendy while she’s on leave — and Steve believes he’s just the man for the job. “Wendy’s fans are very particular. They didn’t take well to Don Lemon when he stepped in. He lasted just one week,” a production insider tells the site. “It would take a very particular personality to step into Wendy’s shoes,” the insider adds. “The Fox guys see Steve as a big enough name, and word in the industry is the way he’s been treated by NBC, he feels they don’t deserve him.” That last comment refers to Harvey’s feeling that his current bosses are edging him out in favor of daytime newcomer Kelly Clarkson. NBC has apparently given coveted timeslots to Clarkson in several major markets, a fact that Harvey is clearly not thrilled with. As host of roughly 47 shows, Harvey obviously isn’t hurting for money, but those who know the host best say he has a competitive streak that cannot be contained. “Steve is all about one thing — winning,” says the insider. “He’s not going to let Kelly come out of nowhere, steal his time slot and get an easy ride.” Harvey reportedly feels a partnership with Fox will take him back to the top, and sees Williams’ show as an easy way to get his foot in the door. “If he goes back to a show run by a big network, they will pump lots of money into it — and he thinks it will get him back on top of the TV ratings,” the insider says. Unfortunately, for Harvey, Williams and Clarkson are not his only competition. Producers on Williams’ show are reportedly favoring Nick Cannon as a younger, hipper option. Steve Carell: Did He Announce a Reboot of The Office on Saturday Night Live?!

It's been over five years since the last episode of The Office aired … You still miss it, don't you? It was just such a fun, funny, delightful little show, and so very many people loved it so very much. And since we're in a time right now when many beloved shows are getting reboots — Roseanne, Murphy Brown, the new Sabrina series on Netflix, just to name a few — fans have been clamoring for a reboot of The Office, too. There have been rumors about this for a while now, and even a few somewhat promising reports. We've heard that a reboot could happen with just a few of the old cast members and some new characters. But, over the years, Steve Carell, the man behind the World's Best Boss, Michael Scott, has maintained that it wouldn't be a great idea. He's also made it pretty clear that if it did happen, he most likely wouldn't be involved. Well, Steve hosted Saturday Night Live last night … and he may have changed his tune! After he kicked off his opening monologue, an audience member interrupted him to ask if he'd ever reboot the show. “No, actually, I don't think so,” he answered. “It was a great experience, I love all those people, but I just don't think it's the best idea, I think maybe we should just leave it alone.” Then Kenan Thompson popped up in the audience to tell him that no, it would be the best idea. “It would be like someone wanted you to reboot Kenan and Kel,” Steve argued. Kenan told him that it “would be an honor” if that happened — so seriously, can that happen? But then Ellie Kemper stood up. Ellie Kemper who played that adorable, goofy receptionist, Erin, in later seasons. “People would really love to see an Office reboot,” she told him. “Especially me. I need that money. Let's get that money, Steve!” He still refused, so she called him a jerk and sat back down. So it was Ed Helms' turn. Ed Helms has gone on to star in tons and tons of movies, but many people still know him as Andy Bernard, that good ol' Cornell graduate who loves singing and has anger management issues. “I just don't think you understand how much money we're talking about,” he said to Steve. “Like, you wouldn't have to do all those sad movies anymore.” (Steve is hosting SNL because he has a new movie, Beautiful Boy, coming out in which he plays a father with a drug addict son.) He explained that he doesn't do those movies for money, and so it was time to pull out the big guns: Jenna Fischer, AKA Pam Beasley-Halpert. “Steve, do you remember the last words Pam secretly whispered to Michael as she left for Denver?” she asked, referencing a fan-favorite moment. When he said he didn't, she told him “She said, 'Steve, don't be a dick, do the reboot.'” Finally, Steve's actual wife and kids urged him to do it … so was what enough?! “Seems like everyone wants this to happen,” Steve said to the audience. “Do you want to see an Office reboot?” Everyone cheered, because honestly, everyone does want to see that. He asked Ellie, Ed, and Jenna to come up on the stage with him, then said “I am proud to announce officially …” “We have a great show tonight!” Yep, he really did play us like that. Obviously there's still no reboot in the works, but hey, maybe this was them sort of testing the waters, trying to see if people would want to watch? We can dream. Monumental Moves: Kenan Thompson Lands His Own NBC Comedy After 15 Year ‘SNL’ Run

Photo by Christopher Polk/NBC/NBCU Photo Bank via Getty Images Kenan Thompson Is Working On His Own Show Kenan Thompson  is having an amazing year, and he’s only just getting started. After grabbing his very first Emmy nomination ahead of his 16th season with  Saturday Night Live , the 40-year-old comedian is now set to star in his very own primetime comedy. This is a major move from the sketch comedy show’s longest-running cast member of all time, who just set the record last year. According to reports from Deadline ,  Thompson is going to star in an NBC single-camera series,  Saving Larry , which is about a widowed father of two children. His father-in-law is also there to provide support, whether Thompson’s character likes that or not. The series comes from  SNL  creator and executive producer Lorne Michaels, his Broadway Video company, and  Superstore  executive producer Jackie Clarke, who wrote the series. The series hasn’t gotten a full order yet, but the network is starting with a significant production commitment. But with this new gig comes some potentially sad news. Thompson, who is the longest running cast member in SNL ‘s history, might have to end his tenure with this move. In an interview earlier this year with  The Hollywood Reporter , he said, “I think about leaving and I fear it. This is such a special place, you want to do your part here, but you also want to make room for people that are coming behind you. This was the first year I really started feeling like, ‘OK, I could push out of it now.’ I’m not overly excited about going back to auditioning.” The comedian also expressed his desire for getting into dramatic films in another interview. “I would love to take the Tom Hanks approach,” he said to  Deadline  just last month. “Do a bunch of comedy and then turn into the biggest movie star ever. That would be so awesome.” With his new series on the way, Kenan is certainly headed in his very own Tom Hanks-like direction. Congrats on the new gig!

Saturday Night Live  has 15 nominations this year heading into the Emmys, including five for supporting actors Kenan Thompson, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant and Alec Baldwin. Chance The Rapper Sings To Win Back Our Old President In A Hilarious SNL Skit

Source: NBC / Getty Chance The Rapper and musical guest Eminem both descended upon Saturday Night Live last night to give fans a night they won’t soon forget. The show kicked off with Chance’s hilarious monologue poking fun at Mariah Carey ‘s mainstay performance at Christmas and the debut of his Thanksgiving song. The Chicago native teamed up with cast favorites Kenan Thompson and Chris Redd for a sensational R&B parody that gave us ’90s Boyz II Men vibes. Instead of singing to win back the heart of a lover, the group tried to croon their way back into Barack Obama’s heart so that he’ll save us all and make a return to the White House once more. Get into those vocals, though! Finally, Eminem performed his latest hit “Walk On Water,” blended with a medley of classic hits  “Stan” and “Love The Way You Lie.” Singer Skylar Grey assisted with the vocals. IMAGE CREDIT: Getty

Bill Cosby: I Applaud Eddie Murphy For Not Mocking Me!

Bill Cosby has mostly been in the news recently for allegedly drugging and molesting over 30 different women. Now he’s coming forward to thank Eddie Murphy who rejected an offer to impersonate Cosby during the SNL 40 reunion show. Every time Bill Cosby googles himself these days, he just keeps on getting bad news ( two more women accused him of drugging/abusing them just this week). So yeah … more bad news. It was probably nice, from Cosby’s point of view, that his fellow comedian Eddie Murphy declined the opportunity to lampoon Cosby during the SNL taping earlier this week. Cosby said via a spokesman , “I am very appreciative of Eddie and I applaud his actions.” The action he’s applauding here is Eddie’s in -action during the SNL 40 show. Instead, Cosby’s former cast-mate, Kenan Thompson did the impression of Cosby during the Celebrity Jeopardy bit. This is the second time a major comedian has come to Cosby’s aide. Roseanne Bar also recently said she’s pulling for him and hoping that he can ” make it right .” Of course, nobody is claiming he’s innocent, although he has yet to be officially charged by a court of law. Cosby really is a sacred cow within the comedy community, if allegedly raping over 30 women can’t even get him a little bit of ribbing during a sketch show. Cosby has famously refused to defend himself against the allegations. But he “applauds” Eddie Murphy’s actions? It’s as if Eddie was giving some speech or marching in a picket-line against a grave injustice. Hey Bill Cosby, you’re lucky you’re NOT IN JAIL!!! Being made fun of should be the least of your worries! Bill Cosby Memes Gone Horribly Awry 1. Stare at the Sweater Thanks a lot, Internet users.
