NeNe Leakes is hoping the second time will be the charm with her ex current husband. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star exchanged vows once again with Gregg Leakes last night, as 400 of their closest friends and loved ones watched the ceremony in Atlanta. Bravo cameras were also in attendance , Life & Style confirms, with the couple set to star in a network spinoff titled I Dream of NeNe: The Wedding . The ceremony took place at the InterContinental Buckhead and a reception followed at the Windsor Ballroom. NeNe and Gregg originally tied the knot in 1997 and separated in 2010. They got re-engaged in December, much to the shock and pleasure of their son, Brentt. “I’m so happy to see my parents remarried, as a family we’ve never been happier,” he told E! News.
Veteran daredevil Jane Wicker was killed along with her pilot as her plane plunged to the ground during an air show performance Saturday in Dayton, Ohio. The show was suspended following the crash of her Stearman biplane, and expressions of sympathy have poured in to the performer’s Facebook page. It wasn’t clear what went so wrong, but the biplane glided through the sky, rolled over, then crashed and exploded into flames, killing Wicker and the pilot. The video of the crash, below, is not for the faint of heart: Jane Wicker Plane Crash Wicker, whose “wing walking” was an air show staple, said she felt confident of her ability and that lots of practice makes her signature stunt a “managed risk.” As always, Jane had planned to hang underneath the plane’s wing by her feet and sit on the bottom of the airplane while it was upside-down. The video shows the performer sitting on top of the wing; the plane then tilts and crashes to the ground, erupting into flames as spectators scream. The show was canceled for the rest of the day, but organizers said events would resume Sunday and follow the previous schedule and normal operations. The National Transportation Safety Board said it is investigating the crash. On the video, the announcer narrates as the plane glides and rolls over while the stuntwoman perches on a wing as she has countless times before. “Now she’s still on that far side. Keep an eye on Jane. Keep an eye on Charlie. Watch this! Jane Wicker, sitting on top of the world,” the announcer said. R.I.P.
Demi Lovato’s estranged father, Patrick Lovato, has died. No details about the death are available, but her sister, Dallas Lovato, broke the news over Twitter, writing simply, “Rest in peace daddy I love you.” Demi Lovato wasn’t close to her dad, to put it mildly. She stated a few years ago that she had no interest in developing a relationship with her dad, who she wrote “For the Love of a Daughter” about. This was reportedly prompted by interviews given by her estranged dad to benefit from his daughter’s fame, rather than being the father she needed. Given that Lovato suffered from eating disorders and self-mutilation of her wrists to cope with insecurity and depression, one can see her frustration. Just the same, we can’t imagine how hard this is on her and we hope the family is banding together during what can only be a terrible difficult time. We don’t know the status of their relationship in the recent past and can only wish this bright young star the best as she grieves with family and friends.
‘I did my part and then all this stuff is going on,’ Tatum tells MTV News after Movie Awards. We wanted to know the status of the recently rescheduled release of “G.I. Joe: Retaliation.” “I don’t know. Truly,” Tatum said when asked if the rumors we’d see more of him in the revamped sequel are true. “I haven’t seen the movie. I did my part and then all this stuff is going on, so they haven’t come to talk to me about anything. They talk about a lot of stuff; who knows if it’s the industry or the actual studio? You never know.” But everything is better with a little more of the “Magic Mike” star in it, right? “Sometimes? I don’t know,” Tatum said. “You have to have the exact right amount of Chan.” “Duh,” Tatum’s lovely wife, Jenna Dewan, answered for her husband. “I say yes.” So no matter our desire for more Tatum, the official studio line on the push-back is that Paramount wants to convert the film into 3-D. They made the move in hopes that adding three dimensions will translate to more impressive international box-office numbers. “We’re going to do a conscientious 3-D job, because we’ve seen how it can better box office internationally,” an unnamed studio exec recently said of the switch. “Jim Cameron did all of ‘Titanic’s’ 3-D in post — and look how well that movie turned out.” Other reports indicated that Tatum’s star is now shining too bright to kill his character off early on in the film, as was originally rumored and only partially confirmed by Duke himself. “G.I. Season seven starts tonight at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV featuring performances set to the best Britney songs. Spears tweeted out the good news herself. “Make sure you tune into #ABDC tonight on @MTV at 10/9C!” she wrote. “Heard they’re closing show with Womanizer…CAN NOT WAIT to see what these crews do.” This season, dubbed “Return of the Superstars,” will feature nine all-new hip-hop dance crews and one returning past crew, a fan favorite from season two, Fanny Pak. “This is not Fanny Pak, it’s Back Pack,” joked judge J.C. Chasez. “It’s a huge group now. When I saw Fanny Pak I think there were five members and now there are like eight or nine. I’m excited though because what I loved about Fanny Pak on the season they were on is that they don’t rely strictly on their athleticism as dancers. They really work into the theme, they listen to what the music is saying.” “I love Fanny Pak,” fellow judge Lil’ Mama said. “I think that they’re fantastic as a crew, and when you’re alumni and have been through the ropes you know what to expect, it gets tougher as you go along so and people bring their A-game, so we’re hoping they can last through to the end because they’re a good crew.” This is the first time in the series’ history a crew from a prior season will return to compete for the title. Lauren Scruggs, a model and celebrity fashion blogger, suffered severe injuries after she accidentally walked into a spinning airplane propeller in Texas on Saturday. Scruggs, 23, who runs the fashion blog LOLO and worked in the wardrobe department of Gossip Girl , was climbing out of a two-seater plane in McKinney, Tex. She lost her left hand in the accident and suffered major injuries to her face as well. The hand was amputated by surgeons and the FAA is investigating further. Lauren Scruggs and Chace Crawford “Struck on the left side of her body, Lauren’s hand, head, and shoulder area were hit,” a family spokesperson who posted on the website Caring Bridge said. “After exiting a propeller plane, an accident occurred where she walked into the front of the prop,” the post reads . “Lauren’s surgery went very well this morning.” “She is now resting in ICU with the family. She is able to open her right eye to see while her left eye is still bandaged. Please continue to pray for the vision of her left eye, as we will not know the status of her sight for some time.” She was flying around the state to look at Christmas lights. We wish her the best and hope that she’s able to recover from this as fully and quickly as possible.
